I know this saturday is "Free Comic Book Day" and I plan on visiting my local comic book shop (which happens to be 6 miles away, FML) to participate but im not sure how it works. Do I just grap one comic along with the others I plan on buying or do I grap as many as I want, which i know sounds ridiculous but it is why im asking. Thanks in advance. And yes I am new to buying comic books at comic book shops. I mainly used to read my cousins TPBs or reading them online, but now I know there is no greater feeling than having each issue in your hands.
Free Comic Book Day
Concept » Free Comic Book Day appears in 757 issues.
Free Comic Book Day is the one day a year where participating comic book shops in America and around the world give away comic books free to anyone who comes into the store.
Can someone tell me how "Free Comic Book Day" works.
Not all comics are free only the ones they say are free are free they should have tables set up and stuff displaying them, but they will have alot that are and my store is giving a 25% discount on every thing in the store.
"You walk into a comic shop, grab any comic on the shelf and then walk out without speaking to anyone and avoiding eye contact. Trust me. >:) "
Huh??? you just take things back issues?
" @Psyker star: 25%. wow "That is just the store I go to though, I cant speak for any other one.

Yeah I can easily be fooled if I really wanted to believe something, seriously if I really wanted too I could believe that I wouldn't die if I got ran over by a tank and then nuked.
okay seriously, I went to the one last year, usually 2 or 3 tables set up with the free items, they will probably limit how many items you can take depending on the number of people there. they also hope you'll shop around in the store instead of just showing up for the freebies. I'm going to mine probably an hour earlier than when the store opens...have to check tmw
Last year my comic store made you go to all four stores to collect golden tickets so that you could get into the after party. It was well worth it, we all got smashed.
To be perfectly honest I end up giving away all the free comics I get. They're designed to get you reading something and I think I have a pretty good grasp of reading what I want to. DC and Marvel do a good job about hyping events through FCBD issues which is good but other than that I don't plan on reading the Bongo comics sampler. The people I give them to are usually not comic book readers and if it gets any of them to start buying comics then I think it's worth it. There are usually pretty good deals that day too.
