sorry, naysaying here gain, but i watched the trailer again,
and i think even  Christopher Johnson IV's concept trailer that he
threw together was much better, and wish they wouldve have chosen
him, rather than someone with a big name. Chris obviously has a
passion for Freddy and Wes and gets it.

Right off the bat with the trailer, they are screwing with the origin story of Freddy.  Why is Jackie screaming out "WHAT DO YOU THINK I DID"?  Freddy Krueger WAS a child molester AND murderer!!!  Therefore, trying to make him out like some kind of an innocent dood in the beginning is BULL!

Then...oh...then you've got the lame cinematography style that Bay's production company likes to do with these things (also see The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Amityville Horror remakes).

Mix in a handful of very uncreepy ways to kill someone from the man who can haunt your dreams in ways you could never imagine...

...and then the way Freddy's face looks in the end...

Yeah, this movie is going to be an utter RAPE of an American classic!!!

Geez, why don't they re-make the good horror movies.....oh thats right there aren't any.  At least the originals were funny more then scary.  It would also be nice if American cinema would take some advice from some better foreign horror movies.  Its not what you see that scares you, its what you don't see.   Of course of late the Gore flicks are a lot more hilarious then some of the latest comedies.  Probably why I haven't really been happy with some of the movies this year.

I didn't know Bay was doing this too. It looks good, maybe Bay has found a genre he can do right. I'm alittle scared because no Robert England. But Jackie Haley looks like he can do the part justice. His scares don't quite look the part but I'll see. Nightmare on Elm Street is like my Favorite Horror movie series. The death that they showed in the trailer look allot like updated death in the first two movies. I'm Stoked

Yeah. I wonder if he'll remake Hellraiser? Another Scream movie is being made, I wonder if he's making it? "

Probably not the place to be saying this, but I'm sick and tired of these franchise movies.  Transformers, Star Trek, and the endless barrage of comic book movies.  Why doesn't Hollywood just come up with some original ideas that are suited for its medium?  There are plenty of writers/directors who are capable of original thought.

A Green Hornet movie?  Based on the success of other comic book movies it's a safe bet, sure; but I'm tired of watching "safe", formulaic movies.  A Nightmare on Elm Street?  Not even a continuation, but a remake of the original?

To hell with american cinema; god, has it ever become stupid.  Kubrick, D.W. Griffith, Hitchcock...  They must be rolling in their graves.  American cinema has become so narcissistic in appealing to the juvenile youth demographic that it has become a laughable parody of itself.  GROW UP!

Whatever happened to the auteurs?  At least Tarantino is still working his magic.  Forcing us to think on some level.
