Yes he (Robert Englund's Freddy) is funny. The remake truly sucked ass and was boring, I'd really like to know what Robert Englund thought of it...

@Pr_Beyonder: I'm VERY late at this, but I just feel I should tell ya.

First of all: Wes Cravens ORIGINAL idea was to have him be a child rapist, but he decided against it, not because it was a bad idea, but there was a string of child molestations in Cali around the time he was making Nightmare, and he didn't want to look like he was proffiting off of these horrible things happeneing so he changed krueger to a child murderer. Although they DO hint that kids had a special place in his "heart" here and there subtly in the sequels.

Part Two: I didn't see the Halloween remake. But I can't imagine a horror remake ever being worse. It was like a watered down version of the original. they got rid of Gwen (therefore getting rid of his famous death scene), they removed MOST of the more memorable death scenes (although they kept the Tina on the ceiling scene, although somehow it looked cheesier in the REMAKE)

Also they ruined Freddy. He was silent, he wasn't fun, and I get that in the original he didn't have as much wit as in the sequels. But in the original you clearly saw he had FUN killing these kids. He LOVED what he did. And the remake just got rid all of that.

Also: They tried to make a pedophiles death seem tragic. KRUEGER CRIED.

He's totally funny, well, he's not a comedian but he's got his own style, it's like dark comedy, he makes jokes while killing some people and that's why I love him :D

You heard right. The new one was really lame and didn't have the comedic aspect.

It hilarious how people are messed up over the child molester thing. He's a freak ing demonic Mass murderer/serial killer people, is that not heinous in itself? I get people being mad about him not being "fun " though.

I thought he was funny when I was a kid.

I like him for the same reasons I tend to like the emperor from the Revenge of the Sith and the Joker. All of them love the evil that they do and when you watch them you can tell they're just having a freaking ball. They have fun doing what they do so you have fun watching them do what they do.
