Freddy Krugger seems to be unstoppable. Even though he has been killed at least 3 times outside the Dream Realm. He keeps coming back, I think his magic outside the Dream World is stronger than people give him credit. You remeber at the end of Freddy vs Jason, when Jason is carrying Freddy's head out the water and Freddy's head winks. I think that is a testament to Freddy's regeneration power outside the Dream Realm.

Wasn't it mentioned that he can not be completely killed as long as someone knows or believes in him?

#5 Posted by Gambler (80653 posts) - 5 years, 3 months ago - Show Bio

I'd watch it.

possibly...

i'd have to see a script overview before i even gave the movie any credence...

the Elm Street series has died a death, i say just let it rest in peace

G-Man says:

"Robert Englund won't be Freddy but he said he'd like to do a cameo. Not sure how they could pull it off without him."

Aw that sucks. But they could pull it off. Makeup can do wonders.

Remakes are the rage now a days so this does not suprise me. With it being a continuation(sp?) though that does.

No matter what I would watch it, and depending on the trailers is if I would see it in theatres or just wait to rent it.

Robert Englund won't be Freddy but he said he'd like to do a cameo. Not sure how they could pull it off without him.

to be brutally honest, i'd rather see a continuation of The Abyss storyline...

i'd pay good money to see that

From empireonline:

Robert Englund has told Badtaste.it that it's very unlikely that he'll play any part in the upcoming remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street. "I'm too old for this new version, otherwise it would be Freddie vs. Viagra". Though he hasn't been contacted about any participation in the new film, he says he would welcome a cameo because he loves Michael Bay, who serves as one of the producers.

so it is a Remake, not a continuation...

interesting...

a remake of the original i'd quite enjoy as long as it was truthful to the original

As a remake this should be one hell of a movie, especially if Micheal Bay is a producer.

A remake is the only way to get away without having Englund.

Freddy(star of nightmare on elm street)is a horror movie character legend along with PinHead(star of hell raiser)Michael Myers(star of halloween),and Jason Vorhees(star of friday the 13th),its always great 2 hear bout either of those killer icons 2 come out with a new movie, but i wished they showed more of sum each characters old movies more often on television, and make a movie with all 4 killer characters just going at it LET DA BODIES HIT DA FLOOR STYLE.

According to reportsBilly Bob Thornton has been cast as Freddy Krueger for the Nightmare On Elm Street remake.

The original Freddy, Robert Englund, says he thinks Billy Bob is an "excellent choice" and, "A big budget should mean the film will look a lot better than some of the old movies."

What i want to know is, how much did they have to pay Robert Englund to say that... NO ONE BEATS HIM AS FREDDY!! HE'S THE ICON NOT ANYONE ELSE!!!

I would see it. I mean it would probably be like the new friday the 13th and be an ok movie, but I'd still want to see.

Remakes are all the rage because nobody in Hollywood has any successful ideas for any good movies.

Apparently everyone thinks that this'll be a bad idea because Robert Englund isn't gonna be Freddy. Well I've heard that the guy who played Rorschach (if that's how you spell it) in Watchmen. He seems like a guy who can pull off being Freddy.

#34 Posted by Sparda (15795 posts) - 3 years, 11 months ago - Show Bio

Yeah, Jackie Earle Haley could definitely pull off Freddy, I think. He'd look downright scary with the make-up on.
