    Frankenstein #4 2

Art - The line art is beyond abysmal at points. It's improved in some areas, but there are others where the art is s bad that if I didn't know any better I'd say a child drew it and not a professional. The colors are excellent though and help make the over all art not as bad as it could be with some of the other colorists DC has.Story - They find out the planet is sentient which doesn't matter, kill the two titans easily, and then have to rush home. The end. The dialog is crap. The story is badl...

Now For Frankenstein #4 To Get An ACTUAL Review 1

The Good: Why is J.G. Jones' cover work on Mister Terrific so laughably bad? He does some STELLAR work on the Frankenstein covers. This one is no exception. It has such a hilariously fun 'B-Movie Poster' feel to it, and Frankenstein looking hilariously bored since nothing on this planet is much of a threat to this badass. And the layout of the figures increasing in size is perfect. There's a great sense of teamwork, and even though the werewolf and vampire need some more characterization, the wh...

    It's ALIVE! 0

Frankenstein and the Creature Commandos are on a monster planet and are having to fight monsters like themselves. Can Frankenstein and the others save themselves?  THE GOOD: I haven't been a real fan of the art but this issue really won me over. I really like how sketchy it looks. Alberto Ponticelli gives the book something different then any other series out there. This issue is the best of the series to me. I really like how the plot evolves. Jeff Lemire wrote this issue and made the plot feel...

I only got issue one and four of Frankenstein, so I wasn't entirely sure what was happening. If you just randomly pick this up and haven't read any other of this series, you might be very confused. If you can ignore that, this is an action-packed issue with some crazy, stylistic art. There are some nice character moments, especially with Frankenstein and Nina Mazursky. In terms of story, there a few things that might irritate new readers. I don't know what happened to Khalis, and it says that thei...

    Take it out 0

I can't really take the stance that this issue is great or anything of the sort after mostly giving up on the series after the last issue, but there is a degree of redemption here in the last issue of the first story arc.  I am not sure what holds this together and makes this issue succeed where others failed, but it is indeed a strong enough entry.  The storytelling here is not breaking any new ground, but while it feels recycled in parts it is still engaging.  The story follows the team as the...
