For some reason, something about his art distracts me. I can't put my finger on it, but when he's doing the art for something (Batman & Robin, All-Star Superman, X-Men, etc.) I just can't seem to focus on the story. Do you like his work?
Frank Quitely
Person » Frank Quitely is credited in 427 issues.
Frank Quitely is a Scottish artist acclaimed for his frequent collaborations with writer Grant Morrison, including New X-Men, All-Star Superman, WE3, Batman and Robin, and Flex Mentallo.
Are you a fan of his artwork?
I've passed on his work, I agree, something you (I) can't describe in words is wrong with it. To rough if you will.......
he is my favorite artist next to J.H Williams and John Romita JR . ! and Todd McFarland and Erik Larson (with a little bit of Frank Miller and Jim Lee on the side ) if you catch my drift so does anybody here agree with me on this one ? any takers ..
to me this is a work of art beautiful in every crazy and unpredictable way . and it is all in the eye of the beholder ladies and gentlemen .
I don't like his style, I have the same problem as you Gambit1024, I have a hard time focusing on the story. I rank him with Kelly Jones as artists I never want to see drawing Batman (or any comic I read).
"This. (Sorry for quoting a 4 month old post, PowerHerc).
I have mixed feelings. Sometimes I like his work and other times I don't. If I had to choose, then I'd say no. "
Still, when you go from Quitely to Igor Kordey in New X-Men, he looks like Jim Lee by comparison.
" @FadeToBlackBolt said:The only reason I don't read New X-Men over and over until we form some kind of weird assimilated part-human, part-comic consciousness is that I hate Kordey's art so much >_>" Still, when you go from Quitely to Igor Kordey in New X-Men, he looks like Jim Lee by comparison. "That I will soooooooo agree with. "
