Francis Manapul is a Filipino-Canadian artist currently working at DC Comics. He has worked on Witchblade, Legion of Super-Heroes, Superman / Batman, Adventure Comics and Flash as well as doing cover art for other titles.
Great interview, G-Man...really nice to get to see a relaxed interview with one of the best artists out there (my personal favorite). Glad to know he and Johns have a bright future together.
His art steps away from classical comic book so much that it makes me love it even more... It's still comic book art, but it's not the same as the rest!

G-Man, any chance of you scanning in that sketch so we can get a closer look. It's my life mission to see everything that man has ever drawn, I love his work.
@cbishop: It was something I was gonna do in all my interviews. Just didn't happen. I figure it's a way to get a piece of info that you may not have heard in a bunch of other interviews. Think I only did it in 3 this time.
@G-Man: Cool. I wasn't sure if the motive was for the odd piece of info, or if you were just trying to see how bad you could throw 'em off. This guy took it right in stride. lol
Francis was a cool guy at the con and he was hooking up fans with free brush sketches. He did a quick Solomon Grundy sketch in my book and I look forward to seeing him next year in Artist Alley.
This is the dude who is initially responsible for making me become a fan of the Flash before i got sucked in by the writing. Not even slightly jealous :P
