Introducing Turok Son of Stone!! This issue contains the first appearance of Turok and Andar and details how they came to be stranded in the Lost Land! Anatomically incorrect Dinosaurs abound in this Late 1954 Golden Age classic.

    The Story:
Behind a beautiful painted cover we are treated to "Dinosauria" on the inside cover with 1954 era dinosaur profiles. Cool stuff, We then begin the first story "The World Below" We meet Turok and Andar, two Indian braves out on a hunt. They come across a mysterious cavern and decide to explore it. Deep inside the seemingly endless cave they encounter a cave bear(?) and are forced to go even deeper, eventually emerging in a land that time forgot. In the first story they encounter a dimetrodon and brontosaurus as well as a rabbit leading them to believe by stories end that there must be another way in/out. "Turok Son of Stone and the Terrible Ones!" is the second story which details Turok and Andar's first encounter with Cave Men and Dire Wolves as well as more Dinosaurs! Plus they hunt a proto-camel!

    The Good:
Everything. I love this series and it's mish-mash of concepts and time periods. The Cover alone would have made it an all time favorite. Dell comics were really Good comics. Nuff' said.

    The Bad:
Just that Dell isn't still publishing comics. I loved the "House style" of all Dell's books.Hopefully Dark Horse does Turok justice.

    The Verdict: 5/5
If you love adventure you'll love Turok Son of Stone. A truly timeless comic classic.
