What're some of the X-Men's worst fashion choices ever in all you fine people's opinion? Pictures would be nice, but not necessary :)
Worse X-Styles of all time?
@ageofhurricane: awwww :( I love the new looks lol
@jojo111: Aww. :(
@ageofhurricane: You shot a bullet through my diamond heart :(

They're not awful, IMO.
Certainly better than X-Force's early 90s costumes (save for Warpath and Siryn).
Longshot's 80's mullet was pretty awful too. As was Rogue's 80's punk costume.
@blood1991: AWWWWW I loved the New Xmen styles :( I guess I have weird tastes. Though I love almost every X-Style

Lol come on you have to admit the big yellow x's on the gloves is a bit much, and sometimes it looked like Emma was storing a sandwich in her bottoms
@blood1991: haha yeah, the gloves I didn't care for and Emma's style it's the only one I hated, though when she was in her other ''casual'' outfit she looked better. Idk why I like this style so much, I guess I like how unified each costume was, besides Emma's, since the X-Men typically don't have matching costumes anymore.
@blood1991: Yeah, I also think this picture is a better look at their costumes, though there is quite a bit of X in their uniforms lol. I think Emma should've just sported this outfit the entire time.

Loved these black leather costumes!
The X-Men have always been fashion disasters. You would have a hard time finding outfits they wore that look cool.

They're not any worse than any other superhero team.

True.....but their general outfits are illogical. I completely understand they are drawn with bright, colorful outfits to "pop" off the page as its the main marketing tactic of comic books...it has always been. However they are usually breaking into somewhere or going somewhere they don't belong. Which usually means you would wear something more...uh...covert, not dressing like a collective rainbow
i just dont like cyclops x head thing or magneto's white costumes and i cant believe emma doesnt have a problem with magneto wearing white since its her thing???
Classic X-force never had good costumes, but, yeah, these were especially bad. Except, as you say, Siren, who was basically wearing her original costume and just drawn horribly.
Really can't agree about Rogue's punk look, though; in my mind it was perfect. And I'll never forgive Silvestri for turning it into a lame Scarlet Witch knock-off.
For me though, the absolute worst was this period:
just awful.
@ageofhurricane: I'd like some of what they were smoking when they came up with Cyke's new costume.

Bachalo et al may have made Cyclops' new'do more appealing to the eyes as opposed to Quesada's opening mess, but that outfit is still fugly. And everyone else' is fuglier. The irony of labeling "X-Men" in front of all those hacks (barring Cyclops).

Didn't think they were awful, actually. Maybe it's nostalgic for me. Not the best, though! At least, for you, they were pretty short-lived? Loved Cyclops' costume from this era, though.
@john_valentine: I guess they don't have that nostalgia factor for me; this period was around the time I stopped reading X-men (although I later went back and read them to catch up), and these hideous action figure-y outfits definitely made me feel that maybe I'd simply grown out of the characters. If it hadn't been for Morrison's run (and, subsequently, Whedon's), I might not have returned. I'm starting to feel glad I did again, though.
I HATE the X-Students' uniforms at the Jean Grey School! I want to burn those uniforms!!! What happened to giving them costumes like they did in the New X-Men series... when they were in squads... and they had REAL character growth and development... and they weren't being lead by a homicidal maniac... and... ummm... I MISS THE NEW X-MEN SERIES!!!!!!!!
@papad1992: Don't we all.
@blood1991: Quietly loves to draw boy-girls.
And yes there was a traitor, a fashion traitor named Cyclops.
Maggot was pretty bad. He looked like a reject from "Mad Max" and illustrates why it can be good that so many creator favorites vanish and are never seen or heard from again:

I don't think Maggot's costume was his only problem.

LOL
Anything prior to Rogue's classic look!
And anything after Rogue's classic look!!
I actually kind of like these two, though I hate the hood and scarf respectively.

wait, what do you consider Rogue's "classic look" to be?

haha, okay.
I guess I still remember when that was her new costume, but I do like that one alright. For me, Rogue's "classic" look would be either her original costume (similar to her current one, but without riding boots) or her Mutant Massacre era punk look, since those are the ones she wore in X-men Classics when I was a kid. But I like all three of these looks, myself.
Although I do wish there were some better examples of these two I could use (like Paul Smith for the first, and either Alan Davis or Rick Leonardi for the punk look).
As for the Jim Lee design you like so much, I remember not being a big fan of it for a while, but I think that had more to do with the way Lee (and Silvestri) seemed to have completely changed all the female characters body types from their more classic renditions. And that it was often colored poorly. But, after seeing other artists draw it, I've grown to look back on it fondly.
Well her original look is called "her original look..." and is still hideous. The Mutant Massacre 80s look not so much, but still ugly. It's the 90s classic look that I grew up with as a kid that I cherish the most. And because I love X-Men the animated series.

yeah, I started reading before the cartoon came out, so, because of X-men Classics, I was equally familiar with all three looks. I'd like to think that makes me more objective on the subject, but really I just can't imagine why Rogue (or anyone) would just all of sudden start wearing that much yellow. That said, I do like it better than most of her costumes, when it's drawn well.
@god_spawn: I did like these looks on the x-men
