What's your ideal X-Men Team?

If you could make a team comprised of X-Men characters, who would be in it?

Edit: I added a few more rules to the list.

1. You can use any character that has been on the X-Men or one of the X-Men related teams like X-Force and X-Factor.
2. It doesn't matter if they're alive or dead.
3. Minimum of 6, No more than 10 members on a team.
4. You can make multiple teams of X-Men characters if you want. Example: You can make a Extinction team, A X-Force team lead by Cable or an Uncanny X-Force team, X-Factor, All-Female X-Men Team, etc. Possibilities are endless.
5. You can make Two X-Force teams if you want.
6. You can make an Uncanny Avengers team if you want.

Havok, Forge, Archangel, Cannonball, Frenzy, Longshot.

Cyclops, Shadowcat, Beast, Rogue, Nightcrawler, Blink, Mimic, and Warpath.

Cyclops, Havok, Angel, Gambit, Jean Grey, Rogue, Colossus

Magneto would be the leader, obviously not a field operative.

My team is imbalanced from a power standpoint, I just put the characters I wanted to see interact and enjoyed. I added Colossus to round it out, but it still feels imbalanced. Suggestions?

I actually liked the old Extinction Team quite a lot, the new one with just Mags, Magik, Scott and Emma is also all right, but I would like to see other "veteran" X-Men join 'em, not just kids/new mutants, even though I love that the Cuckoos are with them.

Some of the choices you guys made are interesting. I like it. I think its cool that a few of you guys are making multiple X-men teams. You guys can make one team or ten teams I don't care its all good.

@bababoom: The Uncanny Avengers is basically Avengers and X-Men fighting together as one team. So I consider them an X-Men team. You know I'm going to edit the rules a bit.

If we ae putting Uncanny Avengers in then, I'll say Havok, Cannonball, Sunspot and Dazzler for that team along Cap, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Iron Man (should always been there)

@knighthood: Nice picture of Storm. The movie costume looks particularly good here and makes her current costume look clownish.

Anyway, I would go with Cannonball, Dazzler, Empath, Havok, Karma, Magik, Polaris, Rictor, Shatterstar and Nicole & Claudette St. Croix. Cypher and Cecilia Reyes would be HQ. They would be the X-Men and would focus on threats against the School(s) and the mutant community.

Armor, Firestar, Iceman, Justice, Magma, Moonstar, Sunspot, Northstar & Aurora and Lifeguard (restored to human form) & Slipstream would be X-Factor. Their mission's mandate would have more to do with focusing on threats against humanity as a whole, and members of the roster would often work with other teams.

I always liked the idea of the blue and gold teams, each having their own books that were connected. I would take that a step further and have one team of characters that keeps the school going (which would be Storm's team), and another that works separate from the school and operates more on the edges of the law (which would be Cyclops' team). Basically like the teams are now, but more streamlined and more connected. And there would be a student team.

Shard seems pretty random, but I really like everything else about this team. Really nice picks.

My ideal "X-men" team would involve a team that bridges the divides of each faction and brings together all kind of X-men for a certain cause and makes the best of having so many characters, powers, and relationships.

The Extinction team was a great idea with a lot of potential and promise if it wasn't for the "Schism" that came before it and the AvX *cluster-fudge* that came after it. So I would love to see a time with that premise but with a slightly stronger cast.

Alright, if I were to take control of the X-Books right now and get to write up my ideal teams for them it would probably go something like below, it's not my ideal standalone X-Men team, but I'd read the **** out of all of these:

Cyclops X-Men, still off being revolutionaries, it's been a fun idea and I don't want it to end without its potential being reached: Led by Cyclops, Emma Frost, Magik, Dr. Nemesis as resident braaaains, Frenzy with the angst from her failed love-triangle with Cyclops following Age of X, Random he could use the character development he was sick in the 90's before things went to ****, Polaris with her mental instability being showcased a bit more + her joining Cyclops would have great story potential for Havok.

X-Men: The main team to cover all bases, led by Storm, Wolverine as her second, Jubilee showing what kind of a lame power heart is, Monet as resident flying brick with minor telepathy, Psylocke resident telepath/telekinetic, Colossus resident walking brick, Nightcrawler = teleporter, Rogue with the other powers on the team she could fill nigh any role, Legion resident reality-warping potential threat that needs an eye kept on him, Angel as the scout and eyecandy.

School Team: Responsible for the induction, training and protection of young and new mutants as well as maintaining the School and providing resources to the other teams. Beast as acting headmaster, Kitty Pride as his second, Iceman as a teacher, Rictor as a teacher and 'tamer' of Krakoa, Layla Miller as a teacher, Rachel Grey as a teacher and running Cerebro, Madrox as a teacher and as the majority of staff, Forge responsible for most equipment and to sabotage any further attempts by Beast at messing with the space-time continuum.

X-Force: Led by Cable, Shatterstar, Dust, Warpath, Sunspot, Mirage, Fantomex. All off doing the dangerous stuff.

Unity Team: Government sanctioned in the spirit of 90's X-Factor, composed of a combined force of mutants, Avengers and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D operating directly under Valerie Cooper coordinating (and conflicting) with Maria Hill. Joint Leaders: Havok/ Ms Marvel, Dazzler, Skids, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Machine Man, Red She-Hulk, Wonder Man, Wasp.

Leader: Storm

Her lieutenants (second in command): Nightcrawler and Gambit.

Power house: Wolfsbane

Dust (I would like to see how her and Knightcrawler interact)
