So now that it is well into the series run, I want to know peoples opinions on A + X.

Also, is it fair to call Wolverine an X-man as such anymore? Is a team up between the Hulk and Wolverine not just two avengers?

What has been your favorite team up so far? Iron Fist and Doop for me by far!

It's okay. I feel the series has a lot of untapped potential, but ends up feeling like a missed opportunity-- or a device to make the X-men and Avengers friends again.

I would like to see--

Psylocke & Black Widow

Magneto & Scarlet Witch

Oya & Scarlet Witch

Rogue & Captain Marvel

Storm & Thor

Mystique & Black Widow
Polaris & Scarlet Witch + Quicksliver

See it seems to be avoiding tackling any serious conflicts, which it wants to leave to the actually team books, so it all seems semi redundant!

I really liked the Kitty Pryde Ironman issue..... that's the only one I've really read, just because Peter David was on writing........... I peaked threw a few of them, and most of them just don't grab me.......

I haven't read a single issue of it because I thought it was more of a limited series rather than an on going. But regardless, I don't think I'm missing much since it doesn't seem anything major happens in the series.

I like it. Werent too fond of the idea at first but its really grown on me. Thought this was going to be something similar to Avs.X but while that event at times were, er.. heart wrenchingly horrible, A+X is quite the opposite. Its got humour and I like that focus on the characters instead of the next Galactic War for once

Im a Thor fan so I like his team-ups almost automatically ;)

Loki + Mr. Sinister

Captain Marvel + Wolverine

Thing + Gambit

Hawkeye + Gambit (and I dont even like Gambit)

pretty much.

Also, it seems strange to me that obviously Wolverine's supposed to be the "X" in that team up, despite the fact that he's actually spent way more time as an Avenger than the Hulk has.

The theme of the team-ups just seems both flimsy and overly contrived for what it is. They really should have just called it Avengers Team up or something.

Terrible idea. Avengers and X-men teaming up ludicrous. Such things should stay as they, both teams not giving a crap about each other.

Why? The two teams completely ignoring each other no longer makes any sense.

@peppeyhare: well first of all nice profile, second of course it made sense neither fans gave a crap what happen to the opposite of the team so why would the X-men or the Avengers give a crap what happened to the other whether who lived or died. It was simple and both sides were in their little corner and being jerks to one another halting all future team ups of the two teaming up. It was perfect, until the 90's became a catalyst of the two teaming up in that "Bloodties" event leading to the eventual awful X-men vs Avengers and AvsX.

A+ X is clearly just a way to have characters in a book without any continuity or over arching story. Although it is quite hard to distal two characters in any meaningful way in 11 pages, while also having a coherent story as well.

I like when they go for whimsy and fun, and I loved the villain team up. Any excuse for Gillen to write Sinister again is good by me!

I kind of like how the Avengers still only half heatedly care about the mutants, it just goes to show how tough the mutants have it that the Avengers continually screw up their encounters. And I am just gonna say it now, but Captain America declaring Earth an 'Avengers world'.... Jeez cap, what the hell?

1.) you can be an X-men fan and an Avenger fan, it's not even a stretch.

2.) disregarding the accuracy of what you're saying, how is everyone being jerks preferable?

@peppeyhare: I'm not totally all the way against change what I am against is pandering. Every time the X-men and Avengers confront its always the X-men on high horse throwing comments at the Avengers for not protecting mutants more yet the Avengers are not allowed to argue back at them when a crisis in their stories happen. Things like that piss me off and makes me glad they rarely team up. Now after AvsX there supposed to feel guilty over not helping more when it's the X-men's job to secure mutant rights. Bull crap, but oh well I guess the Avengers should drop saving the earth from The Builder to a beat up a small band of The Purifiers, sorry humanity looks like we have to hold off stopping Ultron from wiping out all organics to substitute at the Jean Grey school, oh bummer Kangs invading again sorry everyone we have help Wolverine in hunting down X-Force for no apparent reason other than waste everyone's time. See what I mean.

Im a fan of both the avengers and the xmen. But i dont like this. The stories have nothing to do with anything. I mean what next A+X speed dating. Its crazy to me that marvel would put so much into avx then turn around and try to repair the relationships. Rick Remender is one of my favorite writers but even Uncanny Avengers is a stretch for me. I actually hope it ends and we get Remender writing Xforce or Uncanny Xmen. I really think it should be either or. Either youre an avenger or xman not both. If a team up is needed then let that be explored and developed in an Illuminati book

I don't like the series... we need more unique and outlandish series, like Remender's X-Force or PAD's X-Factor.

The series misses the mark to me, and it feels out of continuity!

I'd be more inclined to invest in this series if there wasn't an obvious repetition of the characters from X and A (Wolverine) that they were using. Wolverine's had like 3, as has Steve R. and Iron Man and even Thor, i thought the whole point of this was to put the emphasis on the heroics of the more obscure and underused members from X and A. It's since been used as another marketing scheme to showcase Marvel's Caucasian elites.

Boring.

"That's where the serialized story comes in. [Editor] Nick Lowe strategized with ["Deadpool" co-writer] Gerry Duggan so that each issue now provides one chapter of a serialized story that's an homage to one of my all-tome favorite buddy flicks. Think "Midnight Run," with Captain America and Cyclops playing the [Robert] DeNiro and [Charles] Grodin roles. The story is illustrated by David Yardin and starts in October, in issues #13-18."

See what I mean.

See this is what annoys me about the Avengers at the moment. It is not the x-mens job to secure mutant rights, they are being forced into doing it as no one else will raise a finger. This idea, then, is that what? Mutant rights are below the Avengers pay grade? That the socio-political climate is not in the interest of the Avengers?

I like when Luke Cage wanted the Avengers to be proactive and patrol bad neighborhoods in an attempt to help. I hate this reactionary stance of the Avengers but at the same time proclaiming themselves the greatest heroes. Earth is an Avengers world, but internal struggles can go away because we are not interested. I loved in Civil War when Emma asks Tony where the Avengers were when their children were burning in Genosha, I loved it in AvX when Cyclops was so adamant that it was too late for Cap to come in and help the situation.

And your comparing threat levels like the builders and Ultron, well how about Mr. Sinister or Apocalypse? How about the phalanx? How about the world turning on itself due to the existence of mutants? Hell a full powered, determined Magneto is a hell of a thing to tackle not just ignore because it is a mutant issue.

@chapmar: Oh please, that Genosha's argument is what pisses me off about the X-men's high horse. That event happened around the same time as Kang Dynasty event in the Avengers book. Millions were killed in that war while others were killed in his prisons. And the fact Tony didn't bring that to her face pisses me off and just goes to show why no one from the early years bothered o have these two teams join up because of crap like that and Civil War. So if that means having the Avengers be oblivious to the mutant plight to avoid cross overs between the two teams while being jerks to one another than so be it.

@tigerkaya: I just can't have a world where Cap and co. only bother with the mutants where it is very clear that they are going to come out the squeaky clean guys. I have been an Avengers fan for around the last ten years but I have to admit, how they emerged from AvX as the ones in the 'right' is baffling.

@chapmar: I honestly didn't care about the event it was what came after that I hate. But cheer up in the next year or two Uncanny Avengers will eventually dissolve mutant problems will be an X-men problem once more and the two teams will go back to being ignorant jerks to one another and the universe will be balanced again.

@tigerkaya: But I don't want that! I love the conflict that happens when they meet, when Scott's Uncanny X-Men team met The Avengers in Uncanny X-Men #3 the tension was incredible! I like that the Avengers keep saying they will help mutant affairs but don't really do anything at all to help mutant affairs, maybe it is just because I like rooting for the little guy but I preferred when the Avengers were not the world police that they seem to be lately.

And I'll say it before and I'll say it again Avengers and X-men are not friends, are not enemies they are jerks to one another who don't give a crap about the others adventures and thy should remain ignorant of the others plight now and forever more. Much like how Green Arrow and Flash hate each other but have a small once of respect for one another. It's the way things should always remain. Separate and ignorant, that way we avoid VS events and pointless conflicts that don't really add anything other than to make everyone an ass.

But Beast and Wonder-man are best friends! Wolverine and Carol Danvers have had many dealings with the Avengers, Storm also used to be an Avenger. And Xavier was on the Illuminati with Tony and the rest.

And The Avengers can't remain heroes if they are ignoring a huge humanitarian crises in mutant affairs. It's kind of like something that can't be unseen. You can't dip a toe into the issue and then turn away from it.

Captain America and Cyclops

two guys portrayed as boy scouts who get really dirty.

A series where they are lost in a country who hates America.

either you could make the country hate mutants as well and they fight side by side together

or they don't mind mutants(possibly love them) and Scott helps Steve get back to the States.

either way they form a new bound. show how the boy scouts are prepared for anything. and by going through these things they aren't squeaky clean.

personally would love a more Teddy Roosevelt Cap't and a more Lyndon Johnson Cyclops

@chapmar: possible and I hope so. just don't want one to be bad or good. I want characters that seem similar but once around each other show their differences.

Give me Gambit with Hawkeye or Wonderman or all three..bad good guys..they actually show they different levels of power and skill

born powerful/highly skilled - Gambit

gained power/most powerful- Wonder Man

powerless/most skiled-Hawkeye

they all have that purple motif to fall behind too

@chapmar: Sure you can, Avengers writers all time avoid having the Avengers be involve in mutant issues because they respect the X-writers and X-writers want the X-men to be solely the one to handle the mutant issue because that's their sole objective and their identity of handling the octal issues.

@tigerkaya: As I said, using Utopia as an example, I wish that stuff did have a wider affect on the Universe. I wish that the Avengers, as heroes, had said "ok, we need to do something here, this is getting out of control". I do admire how they are finally not leaving the two franchises as completely separate because it bugged me in event stories before.
