Sabretooth is having fun.

@koays: embrace the porn face, love the porn face
looks cool, glad to know that M is showing herself. Theres so much good historic x-men with the potential to be in one stream team !!
Out of 21 panels...only 3 with backgrounds. Bravo, Land. Bravo.
Yep, one of the Land hallmarks.
@thunderscream: How do you feel about Betsy's ponytail? I actually like it.
@koays: Magneto....
get lost in those eyes o.o
@rodrigomonsalv: I guess so, but M also has telepathy.
Don't worry guys.
-Work around for Lands porn face-
Step #1 - Scratch your eyes out.
Step #2 - Done.
I still get all weak in the knees when I see this roster~
Sigh... I came here as open minded as possible, because the last projects of Land weren't actually that bad - Future Imperfect, Mighty Avengers, Spider Woman, but I just can't with those faces anymore. How many times did he shamelessly use same facial (if only facial but let's concentrate on the worst) drafts over and over and over again? How is it even acceptable for somebody who deems himself to be an artist to be so utterly swallowed by nothing but never ending self-plagiarism?
I hope the art won't hurt this book though.
@phoenixofthetides: Or I suppose you can say it's a.... Landmark.
I find it fitting that the very last panel of all the previews has a guy burying his face in his hand.
@koays: M looks like kitty but with darker skin when greg land draws them. again pyslocke has a new outfit, im staring to miss the ninja bathingsuit one
@adamtrmm: Probably.
M powers are just like jessica jones, right?
M's powers are like Superman's (super-strength, speed, endurance, and intelligence), except not powered by the sun and not effected by Kryptonite. And she's telepathic.
M's powers are that she's perfect.
But nowhere near Superman level. Though nothing the next writer cannot change. Jk

she even lied and said she had super hearing or whatever during Gen X lol

apparently more than a match for an Asgardian, that's close enough for me.
they're both as strong/smart/etc.. as the story needs them to be. Stats are for nerds, this is fantasy.

:v well, you could argue that being telepathic is a kind of super-hearing, yeah?
Pft, just a copout for those who cannot handle pedantry. :p
And since it's more scifi than fantasy... Besides, an average Asgardian is fodder, Siege proved us as much, so once again to the point. Inconsistency=laziness. :J

The way society would react to the X-men is science fiction, Sentinels, Genosha, U-men and what have you.. but people being born with magic powers is fantasy, not sci-fi.
And lots of creators evolve or reinterpret the characters' powers all the time, there's nothing about that that needs be lazy. The characters only exist to serve the story, not the other way around.
And what is the explanation for these powers? It's evolution? Then it's science fiction, not fantasy. Being post human and a magician does have a core diffirence. Or of course you can argue that telepotring spell from Harry Potter and let's say crossdimensional hopping device from current FF are one and the same.
Evolve and reinterpret acknowledging what was has been established is fine, just changing it to fit one's story is lazy and unprofessional.
Yeah a character driven medium has totally no obligation towards its characters, good one.
While I like Land's character designs, I always found the way he poses the characters to be rather awkward really. But Psylocke's new costume is nice.
yea me too actually, i kind of like the pants seems alot more realistic then running around in a thong all the time lol
I remember the days when Land was actually a good artist.
Im not sure about all that, but i do remember when he first came out he didn't bother me as much (or first came to the X men) then the more of his art i saw the more i realized it was recycled and didn't really fit the scene as well and every chick looked the same idk time doesn't help him much lol
@mcklayn: Check out his old Nightwing work. They were actually pretty good.

Greg Land was a pretty decent artist and has been drawing comics since 1999. I think what happened is that he got lazy and just found it easier to produce work faster if he just traces models and faces from other work.....this is also evident in his aforementioned lack of backgrounds. Because he turns his work in quickly and reliably he is also probably held in high esteem by Marvel and is able to get higher profile gigs (X-Men). He is like that kid in school that used to rush to get his test done quickly so he can leave early.
@roddy2010: He's still inverted. That's why he didn't kill the soldier.
@kidchipotle: his sabertooth is the best looking part of this preview lol
@cattlebattle: @impervious: Thats interesting, ill have to checkout his nightwing stuff and honestly i can understand meeting deadlines being important i hated Wheldon's run for years because he was so late on everything i didn't enjoy it till well after it was out and i went back and reread it so yea

"it's evolution" only works in the science of a world that has the X-gene, which is itself a product of fantasy. There's nothing comparable to the X-gene in actual genetics -that's not realy how genes or evolution work, so while it may be science in their world, it's fantasy in ours. Because it's the science of a fictional world, it only has to make sense in that world, but that doesn't make their mutant powers actually based on anything from actual science. Really, most of their powers are based on ideas from mythology, they just use the story element of the X-gene to make it scientific in the context of the story.
I'm not saying that the X-men doesn't have elements of science fiction, it certainly does, but their powers and how they got them are strictly fantasy.
Evolve and reinterpret acknowledging what was has been established is fine, just changing it to fit one's story is lazy and unprofessional.
I really think it depends on how and why it's done; like, if there's a reason or if there isn't.
Continuity should only be a tool, never a hindrance to the creator.
Yeah a character driven medium has totally no obligation towards its characters, good one.
It may be a character-driven genre, but it's a story-driven medium. The character's are irrelevant if the story's not there.
