So, is that X-Force in DOFP??

In the trailer it clearly shows 4 new mutants: Bishop, Blink, Sunspot and Warpath. Most of whom have ties to the comic X-Force team. It is also confirmed that there will be an X-Force spinoff with 5 or so characters.

Now, I am pretty sure the end of DOFP will reconstruct the whole X-Men film franchise mythology, and we will probably end up with more comic accuracy which will quiet a lot of fanboys. However, could this be the team we might see in a future film?

As for the DOFP line up, I am suspecting that the X-Men consist of Magneto, Professor X, Kitty Pryde, Colossus , Iceman, Storm and Rogue and they will meet up with X-Force, which is lead by Wolverine and consists of Bishop, Sunspot, Warpath and Blink. Together they hold down the fort while Wolverine goes a time jumping. Either way, I am excited.

umm because those two ARE Sunspot and Warpath.

Colossus is a different actor

I'm guessing that they are just introducing the characters in this movie, but not introducing them as the X-Force. Only later in the actual X-Force movie, will they come together as a team.

But either way... yes!

I remember reading that those characters aren't on any team currently, they're just "mutants trying to survive" so they're not X-Force (yet -- if they do become it, who knows)

I imagine there will be a reason for the characters chosen. Blink will probably have to blink someone or something out of existence or something.

She doesn't exist in the DOFP timeline.

So?? What does that have to do with anything?? Half of the X-Men don't exist in the DOFP timeline.

I think it has more to do with the fact that most of them weren't created yet when the DOFP story was published.

but that's just process of elimination, more than that it actually looks like him. I'm not saying that as any kind of criticism of these casting choices or anything, the characters always look different in the films stills, but then you see them in context of the actual film and it generally works; I'm just saying that, based on these stills, I also couldn't tell.

Even if you cannot make them out right away, they still look close enough to their comic counterparts. Its like a "cool, geek trend" to hate on the X-Men films, I mean look at all the other comic films out there, Bane in the TDKR wasn't "on target", neither was Ras Al Ghul, most of the Iron Man villains, Malaketh, hell, Heimdall is a black guy. I am just saying, complaining about the way a character looks is petty, especially when these characters are actually closer than most representations of the X-Men characters on film.

No, you weren't complaining. The person that I replied to sounded like he was disgusted or something by the way the characters looked, when they are actually pretty well translated

I can accept the whole concept of the movie being an 'elseworlds' thing; hell, I seriously hope it's not too similar to the source material, I found DOFP kind of boring. But I don't know that the addition of these characters would add anything, necessarily. I just want their existence there justified.

I don't think X-Force is gonna be in DoFp. The main X-Force characters aren't in it.

They probably will have a purpose for being there. I don't see what it matters if the characters were in the story in the first place. Many X-Men cartoons have adapted the storyline with character that weren't in it. In regards to other films: Iron Monger had nothing to do with Iron Mans origin, Batman Begins adapted Batman Year One and Ras Al Ghul wasn't in that. Basically, I don't see your concern

Bishop, dreadlocks regrown and all is currently in Uncanny X-Force, and Warpath and Sunspot were original members of X-Force and always heavily associated with the team. If they are lead by Wolverine, then blammo, that is an X-Force team right there.

I take it you're not one of those people that likes movies to be accurate to their source material?

I could care less as long as the film is good. But, what comic movie is accurate?? None of them as far as I know. Maybe Watchmen, but still, there is lots of differences.

@emequious_swerve: Well that warpath is an itty bitty big guy, and blink is supposed to be pink, not in kabuki makeup, but maybe that's a shadow from some explosion

As far as I can tell, she is pink.

When Warpath first appeared, he was a normal sized man. It wasn't until Liefield came along in all his disproportioned glory, that he was drawn to be massive.
