Hello everyone, I thought it would be a good idea to find out what are the most popular X-Men story arcs of all time on comic vine. So I created this ranking system.

Here is the ranking system where you rank the story arc.

12 points : Goes to are favourite X-Men story arcs, the stories that we think are the best.

9 points : Goes to the stories, that we think are very good and we like them a lot.

6 points: Goes to the stories , that we like and that we think are ok.

Best way to rank X-Men story arcs

1) Give Name of comic, issue number and year e.g X-Men 7(1993)

2) Post Image of the comic.

3) If it's a popular story arc. Just say name and the writer or just the name of the story arc.

4) Please don't rank a series, not every writer wrote 4 stories. Unless it's a solo series and it only has few issues. If turns out your fan of Joss Whedon series, just give 12 points each of his stories.

5) If it turns out that you only like 1 issue from a major story arc, then just say e.g you like to give Wolverine and the X-Men (10) 6 points.

7) You can rank crossovers. As long as the X-Men characters play a big part in the story arc. With regards to Wolverine, he more of Avenger, than X-Men. So please don't give points to story arc if it's just him and rest of the Avengers. If it's Wolverine and Spiderman story arc, fair enough.

I like to say you can rank any X-Men story arc.

You rank a story from any X-Men comics past or present.

You can rank any X-Force or X-Factor comic. You can even rank story arc from Generation X or Exiles. You also can rank a story arc from any X-Men solo series. You can ranks as many as you want.

Here is my ranking system

12 points

Good selection. I missed out quite a few of my favourites. Some of the ones above I do like a lot though..

Gifted, Torn, Unstoppable, Old Man Logan.

9 Points

Dangerous, Riot at Xavier's, Age of X, Second Coming.

6 Points

House of M, Peter David's X-factor, Warren Ellis' Excalibur (much of it, at least), Claremont's New Mutants (for nostalgia value, really), X-Infernus, Divided We Stand, Manifest Destiny, E is for Extinction, Imperial.

I might have missed some stuff, not sure. Personally I prefer to be less positive with my ranking of X-men storylines- the categories I divide things into are 'good' and 'not completely horrible'.

While I appreciate you taking part. Can you please not rank a series. This threads is just for story arcs. I mean Peter David has over 200 issues. That's quite a lot. Is there any X-Factor story arcs that you like from the series. Any 'Excalibur' story arcs you like. Any stories from the New Mutants.

Please just rank story arcs. You can rank series if a solos series. Like Psylocke solo series. It only had 5 issues.

@time: You seriously want me to list every story arc from the Peter David run on X-factor and the Warren Ellis run on Excalibur?

As a side note I thought the Psylocke miniseries was awful.

You don't have to list them all. You can pick a story arc or 2. That's what some people have done already. They listed a few story arcs, not a whole series.

Well I like the Psylocke solo series.

X-Factor was good. I like about 8 stories from the series. So far I have only listed one issue. I intend to list the others soon.

I just want people to list story arcs instead of series, cause one it's easier and it's easier for me to work out the points.

It is easy, cause most people have a fair idea of what there favourite stories are. I've see people list there top 50 story arcs before. I do find it strange that you like all of the 262 issues of X-Factor investigations.

Having said that, you have listed 14 story arcs. So you don't have to rank anymore.

man, other than not having The Uncanny X-Men #150 - I, Magneto and The Uncanny X-Men #200 - The Trial of Magneto, that's a pretty sweet Magneto's greatest hits..

one thing though, where you listed Fatal Attractions you forgot The Uncanny X-Men #304 - Fatal Attractions Part 3: ...For What Have I Done. I would actually include The Uncanny X-Men #300 - Legacies up to 304, but that's just me.

I assumed he meant X-Men (vol.2, 1991) #1- Rubicon to 3 - Fallout!, since that's one complete arc and the only issues of the book to come out in '91.
