Jean Grey

#53 Posted by GonnaRain (752 posts) - - Show Bio

At first I didn't like Jean Grey at all, mostly because of her totally OP character, and also because of the way she is portrayed and perceived among most of the Mutant Community, but I've come to like her a little.

So, from the list, I would've to say Storm. I don't hate her, but I don't care at all about her.

I've thought about it some more, and I kind of think this question really sucks.

My least favorite is Kitty.

Such a bland & ordinary character....

Jean. She had her place in continuity and I'm glad she's gone.

Never understood the Jean loathing.

Rogue... yes it's the accent that annoys me.

Rogue and her clothes is just ick

Those clothes are exactly why I like Rogue. It'd be perfect if she had her tacky cowboy boots.

Storm.

@sukislide: Jean at the top, so I didn't forget.

This is a trick question isn't it? This is to see who harbors racial, religious, ethnic, nationality prejudices innit? I say I dislike Rogue the most and I am making fun of "rednecks" eh? I say Jean Grey and now I think gingers have no soul? I say Kitty and now I am anti semitic? Storm and I am racist to black people? Emma and I am making fun of blondes and how they are dumb? Don't even get me started on Psylocke... I see your game... I chose Professor X as the one female X-Man I hate the most! Yeah bet you didn't think a bald guy in a wheelchair could be a woman huh? How very shallow of you!

Love it hahahahaha

Hard to say because I don't dislike any of them. I choose none.

LOL. Not only did the op leave out Prof. X, but also Cyclops. Time, don't you know Cyke is the fiercest Claremazon ever.

But... I like all of them! :U

I don't dislike any of the characters listed but out of all the characters listed I find Jean the most irritating. Old Jean because of the pedestal she is placed on. She was never that great and every time she comes back whatever writer is given the task seems to make her more that she was. Young Jean just because the writer is taking the character in a different from the Jean I remember.

For the record, though, I never said I disliked Jean the most (or at all); I said I liked her the least, based solely on that I find all of the other characters listed interest me more.

not that I thought you were talking about me, just pointing out that there is a difference.

#74 Posted by poisonfleur (2926 posts) - - Show Bio

Storm :)
But they are are pretty cool.

#75 Posted by zdub1216 (7 posts) - - Show Bio

It really depends on how the character is portrayed. I typically like Storm, but I hated her in the 90's cartoon because her voice actress was so obnoxious.

I would say Kitty Pryde is my personal favorite. She's smart, loyal, courageous, and a wise ass.

Emma is my second favorite. I know she's a materialistic, narcissistic, bitchy slut, but I Iove how resourceful she is. And I think her imperfection is what makes her character so appealing. She's kind of like the opposite of "perfect women" like Wonder Woman and Jean Grey. She is very real, and I love her!

Ororo is my third favorite. She's a bad ass! I just wish they would make her character a tad more 3-dimensional. She has a hell of a lot of potential though!

Jean Grey is my fourth favorite of these ladies. Even though her perfection and goody two shoes persona drive me nuts, I think she's very realistic. She reminds me a lot of my high school valedictorian (you would hate her, but you can't b/c she is so nice. Also, I think that whole Phoenix thing completely validates her as a character; a totally brilliant move (by Claremont?)

Rogue is my fifth character. I like her a lot, actually. Sometimes, I even love her. She was great in X-Men Evolution, when she was emo. I hated her character in the 90's X-Men though.

The only character I dislike is Jubilee. She's so naive. She's totally the pesky kid brother. And the vampire thing? What a dumb plot line! Haven't we had enough vampires in the past decade? To me, this was a pathetic attempt to make X-Men more pop culture.

Jean, stay dead already. Too bad this wasn't a poll.

#77 Posted by time (4837 posts) - - Show Bio

@dayvid3: I did a poll for it already, I just missed out Jubilee in it. Psylocke was the most loved X-lady.

#78 Edited by Cobalion (188 posts) - - Show Bio

Should've added X-23 I know she isnt an "X-lady" anymore but it would be interesting to see how she fairs.

My opinions are on the ladies I like/dislike.

Kitty she has been rather hit or miss, from the 80's and the 90's I disliked her because she was more less and annoying side-kick, and I thought she was useless. After astonishing x-men she was in a close contender for my most favoured x-men, dont like her at wolverines crap-tacular school I like how she is grown as a character I'll admit.

Jubilee in cartoon and in comics, she was like that annoying little sister you have, which includes annoying voice, getting into mischief, aggravating her teamates, some sort of Dennis the menace with breasts type of character, and just being and all around little brat.

Emma Frost loved her as villain, like how she can be "hard as diamonds" when she feels its needed, other than that I'm not a fan.

Xmen anime and Xmen First class, didnt do her any justice, in the anime she was almost useless and made her look weak. Also needs to get telepathy back.

Psylocke flawless, always liked her.

Jean Grey, always liked her, not a big fan of the whole phoenix thing (liked dark phoenix saga and regular phoenix saga, other stories were terrible), needs to be put to rest permanently.

Storm: favorite X-woman ever, never a dull moment, from what I've read, except Avengers vs X-men but t fair all the X-men were down played.

Rogue No, just no!!

#79 Posted by Moonchilde (1601 posts) - - Show Bio

Emma will always be a villain in my mind. I liked her when she was a villain, but I still haven't warmed to her as a "hero", and at this point pretty sure I never will

#83 Posted by PeppeyHare (4310 posts) - - Show Bio

I don't dislike any of them but I've never cared about Jubilee

#84 Posted by HopesummersFORtheFUTURE (2767 posts) - - Show Bio

this is out of the blue but why is storm in uncanny x-men when she was against the x-men turing into cold-blooded killers <-------the end of x-men second coming is when she learned of scott's and logan's secret involment in that

#85 Posted by THUNDERBOLT30 (9875 posts) - - Show Bio

Out of this list it's a tie between current Emma (I liked her more pre-Bendis) and Jubilee.

#86 Posted by Wolverine08 (38067 posts) - - Show Bio

Jean.

#87 Edited by JROCK72 (411 posts) - - Show Bio

I don't really like Jubilee. I don't hate her, but she's my least favorite about us all.

#88 Posted by PapiNacho (2334 posts) - - Show Bio

As of now Jean, I've only ever read All-New and Uncanny X-men of Marvel Now and she abuses her powers far too much. I was really pissed when she mind controlled Angel, even more so when none of the older X-men seemed to give a crap. They treat it like its a normal occurrence so I;m assuming she did this before.

Who do you dislike the most.

Jubilee easily is the worst with EMMA coming in second.

#90 Posted by MoonStorm (44 posts) - - Show Bio

I cannot read the name Jubilee without flashing back to her awful whiny character in the 90s cartoon, its been set in my brain for life haha.

But my absolute non-fav X-Chick is most definitely "Miss I'm-always-in-love-triangle-dramas-and-just-bcos-i-got- possessed-by-a-cosmic-entity-every1-thinks-I'm-the-most-powerful-Omega-level-super-mutie-ever-known-to-man" lol. b!tch please, The Phoenix is the real power here, u were just the host, without it u go rite back to floating shit under great strain :) Ugh and her personal life…wtf is wrong with this chick? Lead Angel then Wolverine on for decades, and wants to get her knickers in a bunch wen she's on the receiving end? #insipid #hypocrite

Rachel third jean grey rip off although i did like maddie but she was the second jean grey rip off. Phoenix entity was the first....lol

Hope summers is the fourth jean grey rip-off who is getting annyoing in avx but much better in cable and the x-men. which is getting cancelled, i hope Hope doesnt join cyclops team although that would be awkward for all even jean. BTW wasnt hope suppose to meet jean??? And i thought teen scott was supposed to hook-up with pixie not x-23?
