If a certain X-Man became an Omega-level mutant?

Basically I'm asking if [Insert an X-Man's name here] suddenly got a power boost and became classified as an omega-level mutant, like Iceman, Kid Omega, Jean Grey and Legion, how would his powers be improved from its current state and what other powers can that X-man have?

Rockslide, as an omega-level mutant, I imagine him having a strong form of earth manipulation and the ability to take a huge chunk of the Earth and turn himself into giant golem that would easily tower above most buildings. He would also have the ability to cause shock-waves and earthquakes and a more malleable yet sturdy rock form.

I think Rockslide should have the former ability in his current state, taking Earth from around him and turning into some sedimentary et al type of amalgamation.

I'll have to think on this, there are some characters with potential to upgrade creatively but then again some characters can be turned to Omega if given a cheap upgrade that still ties to their main power.

He is, but applying an upgrade to his power that would make him Omega is somewhat easier to imagine. I'm trying to think of ways that a character who seems like there's no way they can be Omega have an upgrade that makes them Omega that still ties with their original power.

Well then just think of the most obscure X-Men or X-Men related X-character.

Magik could easily become an Omega. Emma Frost too.

Making a character more powerful rarely makes them actually more interesting.

There are some power upgrades that were cool (Jean unlocking her telepathy, Kitty learning to walk on air, Rogue finally learning to control her powers, Prodigy, Elixer, etc), but those are generally just characters learning new ways to use the powers they already have. I actually think it's more interesting when characters lose or lose control of their powers, generally, as that seems more likely to result in developing their personalities.

Yes Elixir is by far an Omega level mutant

and No Psylocke is not, she has been called an Omega Level Telepath however, which is different. She is as powerful a telepath as they get but not as powerful a mutant as they get. IE Frost and Xavier for example are Omega level telepaths but not Omega Level Mutants unlike Jean grey who has her Omega Level Telepathy along with the Phoenix idk reality manipulating powers? And Telekinesis making her Omega Level Mutant

Also I think i read some where an Omega Level Mutant is some one who affects things on a Molecular Level, being able to rip apart the very fabric of reality type shit, not sure the exact wording

No on both accounts, Elixir IS tech an omega level mutant, and Pyslock is not as i said earlier omega level telepath is different from mutant

If Psylocke has Omega level telepathy (which is part of her mutation) and the other part is telekinesis, than I'd most likely say she is an Omega-level mutant.

Betsy does have the same power set as the Greys but her telekinesis is not on the same level as they are. I believe her telepathy is inferior compared to Prof. X and Emma Frost. In my knowledge, she uses her psyblades and ninja moves to complement her inferior telekinesis and telepathy.

I think rockslide would also get the ability to turn back to a damn human at will ;)

@youmessinwithme: That would mean Rockslide would also have the ability to turn into organic rock similar to how Emma Frost can turn into organic diamond and Colossus into organic steel.

@bababoom: I think Beast hypothesized that Rockslide is actually a being of psionic energy capable of assembling and animating various organic matter into humanoid forms. This is why when his body's been dispersed in the past, he was able to reform (although at first he needed help from Hellion).

In this respect, I could see that as a being of some form of pure energy capable of manipulating an element...to an extent, that in time he could obtain Omega mutant status.

I do agree with some folks who've stated that mega power boosts rarely make a character more interesting, though...in fact such enhancements dull their impact because if they're roided up to the max, exactly what kind of conflict can't they overcome?

Imagine shooting Optic blasts that bounce of walls or something.

Imagine shooting optic blasts on the ground that give Cyke the ability to travel.

@veshark: cyclops can already shoot his optic blast and have them bounce off walls. He has almost a 6th sense as it relates to trajectory and angles dealing with his blast....well, he used to.
