Yes!i think new 52 ultraman would be as strong as superman!
@powerwoman: That was the case Pre Flashpoint too but at least their fights were close. Here it was ridiculously short when Adam is a near physical equal to Ultraman and has magic.

I don't particularly think Ultraman is stronger. I think it's was necessary for Ultraman to win for story progression, afterall, we can't have the main villain lose his first fight. In any case, I'm curious if Supes is as strong as Ultraman, and would be able to shake of a lightning strike like that?

He probably could since Ultaman has shown a lot of similar physical feats that Superman can achieve under sunlight.

No, i don't think that Superman could take that lighting strike as Ultraman did. While their strenght may be even (bench-pressing the earth for 5 days and moving the moon while weakened by the sun), Ultraman may not be weak to magick in the same way Superman is : their weaknesses seem to be opposite from each other.Actually i think he has lost some blood just because that attack has diminished his energy reserves.
