Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick Revealed in New 'The Flash' Photos

Jay Garrick is coming to town on The Flash and CW just released a few photos showing off his costume. Teddy Sears is playing the part in the upcoming episode 'Flash of Two Worlds' which premieres on the CW on Tuesday, October 13.

Here's the official synopsis:

Jay Garrick (guest star Teddy Sears), a mysterious man from Earth-2, appears at S.T.A.R. Labs with a dire warning about an evil speedster named Zoom, who is set on destroying The Flash. Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team must decide if they can trust this stranger even as they face yet another powerful meta-human. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) must deal with a determined officer named Patty Spivot (guest star Shantel VanSanten) who wants to join his meta-human task force. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing (#202).

Kind of bummed Jay isn't an old dude but otherwise I'm pretty happy we get to see him in live action.

I agree that Jay should be older, it'd be cool to see an old speedster in action ("I'm getting too old for this")

actually him being the oldest speedster cause him to age 3x slowly and this Earth 2 Jay who , when he met Barry was physically in his 20s though being in reality actually in his mid-to late 40s

@ramior: To be honest I was far more upset when Arrow cast a dude who was at most in his 30s to play Wildcat, but I've always seen Jay as the elder statesman type hero.

I know but I was like 7 when Wally became the Flash and by the time I got into the character Jay was always an older guy when they showed him.

yea JL Unlimited used Wally West , then New 52 made Barry Allen the current flash and Jay Garrick still looking like he is barely 10 years older than Barry

Yes finally a decent picture of Jay and he looks good ! like others have said it'd be better if he was older, and if the lightning bolt was coloured in, I'd also make it start more at his hip because it looks like it's coming out of his.......

@joshmightbe: At first I felt the same way but then I remembered current Jay in the comics is even younger arguably from Earth 2 :) It's like they combined the classic look with the younger Jay Garrick for the show.

@fallingcliffs: I just wish people would show more love for older heroes. Some of my favorite stories involve old heroes. There were years at a time when JSA was doing far better stories than the JLA on their best day, but more people were buying pretty young people doing the same old s**t.

Maybe Zoom is a brainwashed Jay and Cobalt Blue is the actual villain like in that Wally West era Speed force comic. That's explain the large amount of speedsters in season 2.

You're entitled to your opinion but I disagree. I consider pre new 52 Alan Scott to be an infinitely more interesting character than Hal Jordan, before the New 52 turned Billy Batson into another cookie cutter "troubled youth" character he was far more likable and actually stood out in the crowd, Jay Garrick has always been cool and JSA was a showcase for them.

I wanted the actor who is playing Barry's dad to be the Earth-2 Flash, where:

1. He never married Barry's mother, and his name is Jay Garrick.

or

2. Zoom killed Barry's mother and Barry, and some coincidence caused Barry's dad to become the Flash instead.

lol not sure about the brainwash theory but at this point anything can be possible, the show is so unpredictable and loves to throw us curve balls and knuckleballs when we expect fastballs. Last season was a prime example of that lol.

You mean Blue being perhaps an evil barry from Earth 2 aka Zoom of that earth? Possible, would pay nice homage to future darker barry from New 52. Or Zoom can just be a demon speedster all new, could be Earth 2's Eobard Thawne(another theory) so many possibilities going that are very possible.

One theory I don't believe it is that I've read is future Barry from Flash's Earth the main one in the show but since he's from Earth 2 this Zoom I don't buy that one.

Check the Chain Lightning arc from Wally's run as the Flash. It'd make perfect sense considering Zoom won't be an un-altered Hunter Zolomon since they'd have had to introduce the character in season 1 for it to make any sense. This'd give an extra layer to Jay's character that I don't think many people know about besides die-hard fans or those that grew up reading Flash during Wally's era.
