Stephen Amell to Play Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

If you're making a sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and you're looking for someone to play the butt-kicking Casey Jones, who would you cast?

According to Variety, Michael Bay and his production company have turned to Stephen Amell, who we all know as Oliver Queen in Arrow.

According to the report, Megan Fox will return as April O'Neil with Will Arnett also returning.

Along with the report, Amell also tweeted the following:

Not in the same way that Casey has been known to contribute to the Turtles.

Not everything is, or has to be, a direct fight. If so, Batman would be useless to the Justice League.

That's true. Though Casey Jones has always been known (always been known) to fight the Turtles and their villain head on. So I don't think it was too outlandish to wonder how he would so that, if at all.

well....I love Arrow and I love casey jones but...this is just weird. I must say though that If the second one is to be good (witch I think is a possibility if they play their cards right) then the need Casey Jones.

Well Amell said he'd be getting a new costume by the end of the season.

It's hard for me to remotely care about the casting when I disliked most of the TMNT movie. I will say it is cool how they're putting a lot of characters in the sequel though.

Still haven't watched the newest TMNT film.

I like Amell thought so if this is true I might have to check out both films.

Even though I'm a huge TMNT fan, I have still have yet to see the first Bay turtles movie because everything I saw of it/reviews of it were terrible to mediocre so I'm not interested in the sequel. Although, I have nothing against Amell (he's pretty good in Green Arrow) but I'm sure the small kids and mouth breathers will go see this even if Tommy Wiseau played Casey

It's weird that people are asking if this is an April Fools Joke....when it was posted in March. It's unlikely to be a joke, but there's always the possibility.

With that all said, I can at least say there will be ONE thing I will like about TMNT 2. I really don't see why there's a sequel though. It was advertised a bit to get fans of the original, though it resembled the original in very few ways and angered most of the fans of the original (as far as I know), and though they say it was meant more for kids, like the originals, I don't know many kids who even liked the movie (I work at a school and showed the movie to my students, and they were bored). Also with how overpowered the turtles were in the reboot, I'm not sure they really need Casey Jones. I'm not sure how much help a human with sports equipment is going to be alongside giant turtles that are over 7 feet tall who know karate and have actual weapons. I'll probably check this out when it's on Redbox due to Amell.
