Character Line-Up Announced for TNT's Teen Titans

There's lots of comic book television coming down the pipeline, but one thing fans really one to know is which DC heroes are going to be members of the Teen Titans on the upcoming TNT television show? Nerdist revealed exclusively which characters will appear on the upcoming pilot for the show and it's a pretty interesting line-up.

First up is Dick Grayson. While at first he'll be wearing the Robin outfit, Dick will eventually hop into his Nightwing garb. Dick has left working with Batman and he is now working as a detective in Boston, not Bludhaven.

The next person revealed is Barbara Gordon. Barbara was once Batgirl, but she is now in a wheelchair. She will be the resident hacker for the group and it sees like while she won't be called "Oracle," she's taking on everything else about that role. This announcement, more than anything else, will have fans jumping for joy.

The third and fourth members of the team are Hawk and Dove. These two will be more along the lines of the New 52 version and there will be a little romance between the characters as well.

Raven is the next character announced, and while she is a part of the New 52, this version of the character will reflect the TEEN TITANS version more from the Geoff Johns run. She's being referred to as Rachel Roth in the pilot script.

Finally, Starfire was announced as the last member of the team for the pilot episode. According to the episode, she and Raven will appear towards the end of the pilot episode. Essentially, the team for most of this pilot will be Robin, Oracle, Hawk, and Dove. Not mentioned were Beast Boy or Cyborg, two pretty important Titans members.

It's unknown who else could join the team after the pilot, if the show gets picked up. It's also unknown if this universe is in the same universe as The Flash and Arrow.

Not seeing Cyborg or Beast Boy feels weird, but at the same time, adding Oracle to the show is just plain wonderful and completely unaccepted. Now, we just have to wait and see if TNT puts Dick Grayson in the disco outfit for an episode. What do you think of the line-up for the show?

My interest is piqued. Not big on Batgirl being there, but I'll still give it a go.

I thought this too. I sort of get why they cant do Cyborg what with him being in the film verse but why not add Beast Boy and Jericho? Why put Dove and Hawk in the Titans?

Swapping out BB & C for Hawk and Dove? Definitely a 'cost of filming' choice.

Or maybe they just didn't want to be compared to Odo and Deathlok.

I'm glad to see Dick Grayson is being added to the DC TV universe. I definitely will be checking this out.

Robin, Hawk, Dove, Raven, a wheelchair bound Babs, and Starfire? They didn't think the bird theme in the names of the heroes seemed redundant at all with only two other members? I love H&D and I'm interested to see the handling of Grayson's transition into Nightwing, but throwing in somebody like Beast Boy or Damage would've helped this series a lot. Who's supposed to be comic relief? If we ever see a Kid Flash on the Flash he should be borrowed, as well as Arsenal from Arrow on the off-chance they're supposed to be in the same universe.

I find all of Dissapointing Comics move to be troubling. I can only imaging how bland this show will be.

This news is not officially confirmed, but I liked it.

I actually would have liked Barbara on the team instead of bound on a wheel chair.

I would have eliminated Hawk and Dove and get one better character instead.

I like Oracle, but would have wanted a character who actually have been a titan.

I believe Hawk & Dove have been titans, but wouldn't have chosen them.

Beast boy can always be part of it later. They can't use Cyborg for obvious reasons. But for some reason I was really hoping for Jericho or Kid Devil to be part of the team. It'd be great if they had Deathstroke as the big villain but Deathstroke already killed it in Arrow and that might hurt this show.

So we are getting a birds or prey show? Being that most of the names are relate to birds?

It is fantastic that we'll be seeing Oracle. I've really missed seeing Barbara in that role. I just hope that they don't go overboard with a Nightwing-Oracle-Starfire love triangle.

I would have rather seen other characters than Hawk and Dove, but I'm open to the idea. I just hope that the show is willing to change the team around (adding new members) as time passes.

I've actually never read a single comic with hawk&Dove in it in my life. So i'm looking forward to getting to know those characters a little better. But I feel like bags was just thrown in there to get fans of the Arkham games. Don't get me wrong, her being there seems to make sense, but still. Also its a little weird w/o BB. Is it just a cost of filming thing or is he just too difficult to cast. I can certainly imagine he would be if you don't want him to be played by a cw actor who is too melodramatic for his own good.

I'm surprised with the addition of Barbara Gordon, it makes kinda sense Dick would have someone in his ear to relay information like damn near everyone does these days, I just wasn't expecting they'd use her for this.

Can't say I am excited for the presence of Hawk and Dove, which I consider to be a pair of fossils that time has run away from.

The three others we knew already. Kinda annoying WB is following Johns' idiotic idea of Cyborg being a Leaguer over a Titan.

I will watch/read almost anything with Dick Grayson in it.

Never read Hawk and Dove, but I really like what's in the rest of the team. Raven and Starfire are some of my favourite female superheros

Yeah. But it's probably because the TT cartoon roster is my definite TT team.

When it basically says you dont care about the team? Whats the point in making the comment in the first place?

With the exceptions of Raven and Starfire, it feels more Birds of Prey than Teen Titans, but I suppose that's not necessarily a bad thing. And as for the team being almost all ladies, that could actually be kind of a good idea. Always good to have some female superheroes, and Live Action in particular could definitely use more.

Okay, I'm interested to see where this goes. I said that if Raven wasn't included, I wouldn't watch it so that's a plus. The only thing is, there are more prominent members they could have used instead of Hawk and Dove. I can understand them not using Cyborg because of the movie, Arsenal because of Arrow, and even Kid Flash/Impulse because he may end up on Flash. What about Jericho, Beast Boy, Aqualad, or Wonder Girl? What about Blue Beetle or Static Shock? I'm just trying to understand the reasoning behind the choice.

Hawk and Dove really? And even Barbara seems weird in this. Why not Aqualad (Garth or Kaldur is fine), Wondergirl (Donna Troy or Cassie Sandsmark is fine), or Beast Boy, or even Terra? I can understand no Cyborg or Roy Harper and possibly Wally West but Hawk and Dove are just boring.

The absence of Cyborg and Beast Boy is disappointing although not entirely unexpected. Cyborg is getting his own movie and unlike the Flash the plans for the movie predate the initial production of this show, and Beast Boy would probably be too expensive to fully realize on the small screen.

What I would do set up seasons with new additions to the team is base them off heroes. One season can surround superboy and cyborg who r fighting for survival from project cadmus then do a season surrounding beast boy, doom patrol and the red. Another season can be about miss martian and blue beetle along with the white martian/ reach invasion then u can do a season about kid flash and static shock. Kid flash's temporal arrival causes the big bang incident in Dakota where static gains his powers.

I hope they add later more classical Titans but these are good for now.

It's odd to see Batgirl but at least she is Oracle in this. Ugh Hawk and Dove, at least tell me their changing their costumes. I've always hated them. I'm real glad they're going with the Raven they're going with. I don't like new 52 version.

I think they didn't include Cyborg because DC wants people to think he's a Justice Leaguer and I would imagine Beast Boy would cost alot.

Considering all the bird names, who wants to bet that there will be a joke about naming the team Birds of Prey?

@birthright: Despair Comics. The Killing Joke was not meant to be Canon. Worse, editorial decided to keep Joker alive. For the realistic gravitas.

And the horrid violation of every principle that Batman was supposed to stand on was used for gags for the next 15 years. And the sales slumped on and on.
