Why isn't Superman a Green Lantern?

lol i dont know why i thought they had to be of pure heart and all that. I had read from Rebirth to the New 52 of GL and GL Corps. I would still like to see an alternate arc (similar to Injustice or something) where Superman has killed or at least taken the weapons of the others.

He would have

aquamans trident (which would control the 7 seas)

Green Lanterns ring

Wonder Woman's Bracelets (in turn has her magical swords), Her shield, and her Tiara (bent in to something else, havent decided what yet)

Cyborgs arm (that has the mother box technology in it)

Flashes suit material to cancel out friction so he can move as fast as possible without affecting the surrounding environment, GL's ring might do this though

Batman's Brother Eye tech merged with Supermans robotic assistants they help him track anyone he wants

I'm sure there's a story somewhere, maybe in JLA, thats shows Superman as a GL. But that's if Krypton was never destroyed. So there's that story. Then there's DC 1 Million where he's Superman Prime One Million and recreates Krypton and Lois Lane because he used his Green Lantern Ring. I even recall a story with Martian Manhunter as a GL....

Superman's strong enough as it is. The whole point of a GL ring is that it's generally given to people with no powers of their own, so they can fight.

Plus, it'd be kind of like yellow lantern Superboy Prime. Really boring.

@dctv3363: Technically no, but he was basically SuperGod at that point rather than a Super-Man, so he could do whatever he wanted. But then again, Hal once recreated a fake Coast City and I believe John Stewart recreated a fake version of whatever that planet was called that he destroyed because both of them, respectively, snapped.

@dctv3363: Generally it's quicker in a fight to go simple. Except for Kyle, most of the Lanterns don't get that complex. I'd assume it's out of convenience.

@_zombie_: Definitely so many more options than just a clenched fist but for some reason that's what they always resort too. It's annoying considering you can create just about ANYTHING that comes to mind.

Smallville: Lantern Issue 1 Season 11-He's now the lantern of Space sector 2813.

He was not born in this sector if space, and since his planet blew up, he's not eligible for Lantern duty. Plus, he > GLs, it would be a downgrade.

Besides he is all about hope and stuff, even his symbol means hope!

My friend has a white lantern superman figure for the game hero clix so I guess he's been a white lantern once.
