New Superman Game in Development by WB Montreal

Apparently a photo for a new Superman game was leaked on twitter from WB Montreal? Could this be the new open world DC game they have hinted of working on? Hopefully.

If they have to give a synopsis and powers-list then it isn't a Superman game but a general DCU one.

I hope what ever game it is I hope it is good. Injustice and The Batman Series are great. I would love a new addition to the list. DC should get into making a WW type of game.God of War pave the way.WW could do the same.

They do the same in the Arkham games in the Powers/Abilities section of the bios plus it's probably a rough concept.

It doesn't really feel like a Superman game. To be honest it seems like Injustice 2. Even Superman looks like the New 52 Skin in Injustice.

Wonder what rocksteady will do next

I'd rather WB not give us God of War with a DC Skin.

Even if that does sound kind of cool.

@squalleon: well eventually they must return to the DCU. Dick and damian as new dynamic duo would be fun. Or if they leave the Gotham setting then superman makes sense, but it would have to be done right. Or a deathstroke game would also be sweet

I don't think they want to spend all their time making licensed projects. The money aren't as good as a game of their own.

They did manage to create awesome games for Batman. But Superman, is another thing altogether. His powers alone will make things more complicated.

But I have faith in WB. The work they've done over the years leaves me confident. If any of this is true of course.

Wasn't WB planning an Arkham style Golden Justice League?

@squalleon: Remember that 1950s Arkham Style Justice League game WB was planning to make?

It was a rumor about a BATMAN game with appearance of the JL.

But I don't think RS will go with it even if it was true. They said they are tired from the Arkham games.

@superguy1591: It was a Silver Age Justice League game that was rumored. That was before Origins came out. I could see this being either I suppose.

I thought Origins was going to be like that but it was more of the same. I'd love to see a Batman game with no counter button. Just more emphasis on beating the crap out of guys.

@superguy1591: I think it was a silver age Batman game that dealt with Batmans first encounter with the Joker and he was having trouble working with the Justice League.

@heavenlydarkdragon: Not necessarily. We have had great games featuring larger than life characters before like Kratos from GOW, Raiden from Revengance and the Hulk from both Radical Entertainment Hulk games. It is possible. They need a studio who cares about and lovea the source material. Enough time and resources and unshackled by a movie tie in. We also now have the power to do this with the next gen consoles. Now we wait.

There was an interview asking 20 different developers about the idea of a Superman game and one of them was actually from WB Montreal, as I remember him from the development of Origins (Don't think he's with them anymore IIRC), but he says "Yeah, do I think it's possible? Absolutely and I think someone is going to do one soon." (Video was posted over a month after Origins released)

@squalleon: They helped with Arkham City IIRC.

But RS was the one with the plan and the vision.

Arkham Origins is their only clean game and even that was based on an engine of another company and lets not forget that AO was the sequel that added the least of all Arkham games and even had downgrades to some (Riddler trophies for example).

@squalleon: Origins was the worst out of the series, but it was still a great game. I'm sure RS had their game realized, but that doesn't change the fact that WBM helped with the game. Superman would be different in terms of gameplay than Batman, which yes, they did make a prequel to and had a blueprint for already. All we can do is hope for the best if this is true.

I'd love to see a Superman game so I do hope this is true. WB Montreal did make Arkham Origins and it was definitely a bit buggy and not the greatest, however the feeling I got from that game is that it was rushed to get out asap. If they are doing a Superman game I would hope they would take their time on it to make sure it is good enough to launch a game franchise.

@theincrediblesuperhulk8642: Agreed lets not forget Dante from Devil May Cry and Bayonetta has well. It is rather obvious that Superman is possible because we have payed has larger then life characters already. This notion that the version of Superman where gonna get is All Star Superman is silly and ridiculous IMO.

@drudox19: Exactly even Alex Mercer and James Heller from Prototype series. The most notable and helpful example is the Hulk. Who is by far and wide the strongest superhero and is physically impervious to harm. But Radical Entertainment managed to make not one but two successful games with the character. One open world the other level to level. You never feel overpowered in this game as the enemies are built around the Hulks strength and weaknesses plus they usually throw a number of enemies at you at once so you always fight to keep going and no battle is a simple smash fest. Those games perfectly captured the feeling of being this unstoppable engine of strength, power and destruction while also paying homage and respect to the source material as the Arkham Games, Raven Software X-Men, Marvel Alliance, Injustice and Multiple Treyarch and Beenpx Spidey games did as well.

Supposedly early in game picture. There's a prompt for hitting Up on the D-Pad to activate X-Ray Vision. The compass towards the top of the screen is very similar to that of Arkham Knight.

@mercinwithamouth: It's been proven to be a fake I'm afraid, a Youtuber called CabooseXL has a picture of a screenshot from Watch Dogs looking incredibly similar to this supposedly leaked Superman game picture.

Tell me those screenshots don't look the same. As for the other image/gif, nothing disproving that yet but it doesn't look very authentic and could just be a reproduced version of the New 52 skin from Injustice. Sorry to burst your expectations but the evidence makes these images seem fake.

Looks fake. I wouldn't dwell on it, though. I'm pretty confident we'll get a Superman game soon. Superman will be in a lot of movies over the next few years, and if you look at the Arkham series its no coincidence it got greenlit after the Nolan films took off.

It's probably fake but by gum I wish we were getting a Superman game. Then I could be happy.

Furthermore, someone compared the Injustice New 52 skin and 'leaked' Superman game New 52 suit and they look pretty similar from where I'm standing.

Darn, looks like it's a fake after all... I feel so let down :(
