Poll John Williams vs. Hans Zimmer score (40 votes)
Which one had the best "Superman" feel to their score?
Which one had the best "Superman" feel to their score?
Like both very, very much. Can’t really compare them because each of them can be related to different aspects of Superman’s personality (or even to entire different takes on Superman as a character), so I’ll pass this voting.
They both fit the character they were composed for. Williams fits the Silver Age mood, Zimmer fits a modern one.
Basically the two greatest composers in film history too, so gg.
Williams did it perfect for his incarnation of Supes, but Zimmer updated it with the update of the character.
Sooo....both, I guess.
But personally, I prefer the modern one over the Silver Age-esque Willaims made.
Jmarshmallow
Zimmer without a doubt. Emotion in a plethora of ranges.

Why not both?
@bats_colony: .......... Um........ No?
Apologies. I forgot Zimmer did Man Of Steel.
Regardless, I find William's theme to be more "comic" related and hence more colorful than Zimmer's take on it. Maybe Zimmer's theme, in my opinion, would fit the Superman from an alternate universe; the one who killed the president.
@bats_colony: Tone. Williams=SA tone, Zimmer=Modern
While Williams made a classing (another one for him), I prefer the Zimmer track (though it's unlikely to achieve the same status as William's due to how much stick it's gotten).
Williams sounds more like an unapologetic Superman score(this is Superman, take it or leave it), Zimmer's sounds modern and edgy(look at me, I'm modern now, please like me!). Just to make it absolutely clear, I prefer Williams.
@herofromkrypton: Williams score sounds like a generically cheesy score (look at this Silver Age crap), and Zimmer's sounds like an actual movie (this is not a cartoon)
