Geoff Johns and John Romita Jr reported as New SUPERMAN Creative Team [Update]

The price will probably remain the same. The Superman title is at 2.99.

I think Romita Jr is a love or hate him kinda arist, I will be interested to see what he does with it.

at this point im thinking DC should sell all their characters to other companies except Sups and Bats, It since that's mainly who they focus on.

Romita is hit or miss for me. I LOVED his Spidey, but hated his new Iron Man. His early Iron Man work was pretty good though. The closest to Superman I would say to try to gauge it by was his work on Thor which IMO was some of his best work.

...well,well,well....well. I have to say that despite the fact i am enjoying Lobdell so far i am also excited to see Geoff back on Superman again: he has done an amazing work with him in the past,and while many people didn't like his characterization of Supes(a younger one) in the very first story of the JL ,he has done a far better job with the character during Trinity War,at least when he has used him. Still i have very big hopes,and i am quite optimistic ( i feel like i've to damper a bit the pessimism and the criticism that are already flourishing).

Regarding the art...i really don't know what to say. Sometimes i really like Romita's work,for example he has done a really good job with his Eternals, but sometimes his art really feel rushed. As for now we have just 2 images that show us his new-52 Supes,but this doesn't help since one is really bad (he really like this pose):

I put John Romita Jr. In the same camp as Steve Dillon. I enjoy their art on certain things, but there are some projects that just aren't right for either artist. This is one of those times.

Although Romita is not my favorite artist, I really welcome the news of Geoff Johns coming to Superman. Hopefully he will be the first writer to make me enjoy the Superman run in the New 52.

He's finally gone!!! Oh thank you DC enjoy having Romita. As to the DC fans good luck your gonna need it. As to Geoff Johns taking over Superman, poor Supes can't seem to get a consistent team and now he gets the worse especially from that awful Superman Secret Origins.

As long as Romita doesn't draw any children, I'm all for this. He's real bad at drawing children.

I actually like JrJr.'s art. I enjoyed how he drew Punisher, Spider-Man, Hulk, Black Panther, Captain America, and other heroes. However, I don't think he can draw Superman that well.

If there's a lot of action then he should be fine because JRjr is one of the best in the biz when it comes to action layouts.

being a fan of Geoff Johns's previous works on Superman and Action Comics (as well as his Lex in forever evil) I want to be excited for this. But Romita's art always seems so sloppy and blocky to me. I don't see this translating well into Superman. If he was on something more dark or gritty, I could see it working. Maybe Suicide Squad? Justice League Dark? Justice League 3000? Even any of the bat-family books. Romita's art for Superman just seems like an odd choice to me.

His art is very peculiar but I'm somewhat drawn to it. Superman looks pretty ok in the pic above.
