The Good

We're seeing a lot of heroes turn villain and vice versa as a result of the events in AVENGERS & X-MEN: AXIS. The overall story has had some hit or miss moments. Seeing the Avengers or X-Men begin to unleash their evil schemes has come across as too far fetched. But Tony Stark as the SUPERIOR Iron Man has been a refreshing different story.

We all know Tom Taylor is great at pulling out the worst in our beloved heroes. Perhaps part of what is making SUPERIOR IRON MAN work is Taylor hasn't completely twisted who Tony Stark is. He's always been a bit arrogant. He has come up with a great business plan for a new product. Some, like Daredevil, might question his methods of...distributing them but, in theory, he hasn't really done anything illegal, has he? Daredevil doesn't agree with Tony's business strategy and what he does afterwards. This leads to a big confrontation between the two.

Yildiray Cinar has captured the essence of this new Iron Man. He brings an almost old school style to the characters, especially when we see Tony and Daredevil together. We even get to see a couple different encounters between the two in different settings. You'll start to wonder if Tony truly has become evil when you see the way he looks at DD.

The Bad

We saw the beginning of the confrontation between Tony and Daredevil in AVENGERS & X-MEN: AXIS #6. That first encounter was longer and there was some interesting dialogue. It's understandable that the start of that scene would be cut short in order for us to see what happens next and so on. It just felt too abrupt.

It's great to see Tony and Matt butt heads but also feels a little weird Daredevil is taking such a huge interest in stopping him. Sure, it makes sense since Matt moved to San Francisco before Tony came along. Daredevil can definitely hold his own but to jump in and try to take down Tony head on...seems he might want to ask for a little help.

The Verdict

The repercussions spilling out of Axis have turned things upside down in the Marvel Universe. We're getting a mix of different types of stories as a result. Tom Taylor is doing a fantastic job writing Tony Stark's new twisted adventures. It's easy to dismiss him as an almost villain but at the same time, you start to question some of that thinking. Having Daredevil come in makes for an interesting confrontation. Yildiray Cinar's art gives the story a great feel and it's fun to see the action unfolding across the pages. This isn't the Iron Man you're used to. Seeing where this is going will fill you with excitement.

Daredevil was not one of the Heroes who were present for the inversion. So Matt's personality has remained the same, but Tony is the one acting out of character.

What's the point of making DD fight Iron Man just so he can get served over and over?Matt's not stupid,I would think he would know he would need more than a billy club to take Iron Man down. This is becoming really dumb quick. It's embarrassing as a Daredevil fan to see him willingly through himself into a fight he knows he can't win.

I agree. It almost looked like this title was going to be over because of what DD does.

Another example of Marvel offensive views towards to disabilities.
This is as bad as marvel obsession with "curing" professor x

If you have a disability you shouldn't be recognised as equal the everyone else, you have a flaw and that needs to resolved by curing you. Bad writers resort to gimmicks like curing disabilities instead of embracing them.

That twist was unexpected and interesting. I wander how DD will cope, will it even be permanent?

Tom Taylor's proven more than once that he has no talent whatsoever and his only ideas are turning some superhero into a big ass and making him become a villain. He then tries to make something unthinkably bad and some other hero/heroes have to stop him and he just wraps the story around that scenario. And this issue is eaxctly that and there are so many weird and bad things that I can't even really describe it. A really bad book so far.

What does Tony do here exactly? And why did he suddenly become a villain?o_O

He became a villain because the spell the Scarlet Witch did in Axis went wrong and all of the heroes and villains got their minds inverted. And now he apparently is even a bigger douche than before. For the thing he did, he fought Matt, then forced a person to puchase his Extremis app so he can make even more money and in the end fought Matt again and when DD got knocked out Tony used the Extremis app on him as well and now Matt can see.

Iron App?

F*ck, sounds terrible.

Yep, he came up with an app that makes you perfect and if you are sick or anything like that, you get cured by it.

I like the series, but the series will be very weak when Daredevil inevitably leaves for his own series.

Are you crazy? That's completly right view. Disabilities are flaws and people shall strive to cure them or at least neutrilize, compensate them.
