New 'Supergirl' Trailer Tells "Her Story"

It feels like it's been so long since we saw that "First Look" trailer for the upcoming Supergirl TV show. We spoke with the cast at San Diego to find out more about the show (click HERE). The panel from San Diego was also released HERE.

A new trailer has been released which focuses on Kara's story.

Supergirl premieres on October 26, 2015 on CBS.

Looks pretty good.

Looks alright for a younger audience. kind of Smallville like.

The pilot is super solid, bit piloty dialog but that's just a product of development.

@mrmazz: And that's just the pilot. I'd imagine (and hope) the show really finds its groove after that. I'm excited.

the pilot was not that good. there were so many plot holes.

much like in the CW shows, there were a lot of people acting totally unlike how real people act.

That said I am still hopeful that it could be ok...

The pilot was terrible.

Her story. About working for a newspaper, hanging around Jimmy Olsen, debuting by saving a plane and fighting a Superman villain. Yup, her story.

Looks like it could be good.

I hope they are not too in the face with the feminism. Like do they they really need to say "its okay to be called a girl" and "on my planet females bow"

I would like to more empowered female characters like how Avatar: The last air bender and Legend of Korra did it.

Totally this on the inevitable girl power area of the show. It's fine to show how valued and equal women are or should be in today's society, but to pander to women, let alone the hardcore and vitriol filled feminazis or SJWs on the Internet today.

The trailer does look decent for a pilot but as mentioned above, I am a little bit worried Supergirl is being introduced as more of a female Superman than she actually is. The similarity in jobs, clothes and hanging around with Superman's pal Jimmy Olsen doesn't help much either.

@superior_prime_maybe: I agree, having a strong female character can involve subtlety instead of such blunt and bland writing "you, girl, bow, me am strong man" "No way, I am a proud, independent woman and will not be told to do anything by any man...unless it's Jimmy Olsen"

Also, who the hell is she supposed to be fighting? That looks like no Superman/Supergirl villain I've ever seen? At least on Flash and Arrow, the villains maintain their iconic looks.

@lvenger: Actually Jimmy James feel like a replacement Lois.

@lvenger:umm yeah it dosen't "pander" but honestly most of the time I see that word brought up (often with SJW and feminazi's somewhere close too it) pander seems to mean acknowledge even basic ideas of feminisim in any sort of way. This shows got a Girl Power vibe too it which is fine.

@superior_prime_maybe: That too is a distinct possibility. Especially with that scene at the end of the early trailer.

@mrmazz: It's way too obviously done and clearly intended for a young female audience moreso than a male one. Which may or may not work out depending on the reaction to it.

@superior_prime_maybe: Agree Avatar definitely did it right, they showed female leads and actual people and not symbols.

She's not a reporter, she does know Jimmy Olsen in the comics too and its not like Supergirl ever really had her own rogues gallery so who else's villains did you think they were going to borrow.

This may be the first time we see Kara in pantyhose...Or is it stockings? Nylons, maybe? Anyway, it's small potatoes. This does look really good.

Nope. Still feel nothing for this show.

Some clunky dialog, not impressed with the lead actress acting. Good special effects, though. I' m sure there is an audience for it and it should easily be better than the Supergirl movie, but I don't think I'm gonna watch it.

I think this will be a decent show, better than Constantine and Gotham, but not as good as Flash and Arrow IMHO.

Either way I'm a supporter of DC shows and they knock it out of the ballpark more times than not so.
