Who should write Spider-Man?

I love Slott's run, but a change up in 2015 would be great. Who do you think should replace him when he is done? I would love to see one of spidey's past great writers return, but I doubt that will ever happen other than single stories. Maybe Yost, he did a great job with Scarlet Spider-Man.

Seriously though, I agree, Yost should write it.

Scarlet Spider was completely amazing. Yost so perfectly wrote Kaine. He was his own character but still had moments when you went "That's Peter!" (cos clones).

I have zero doubts he could write Peter terrifically.

Yost. He's the only writer who still acknowledges the mystical elements of Spider-Man presented in JMS' run and his Scarlet Spider run was superior to Slott's SSM.

has Matt Fraction ever written spidey before, if he has do you know what issues as I would like to read them.

It wouldn't be that much different. He was given a clean slate do anything he wanted to do.

Spider-Men 2 is coming though.

I think Bendis writing 616 Spider-Man is a longer shot than Kirkman coming back to Marvel but a man can dream! For now...you are right...Spider-Men 2 will have to suffice.

I'd be all for Bendis moving to take over Amazing from Slott once he's finished. Bendis wrote a fantastic Ultimate Peter, so I'd love to see his take on the regular 616 Peter

Don't know why everyone wants Bendis on Spider-Man he would be awful. His overrated dialogue and speech pattern where everyone seems to take a long pause to repeating the same thing just awful. Let the man stay in X-men and Ultimate comics where he belongs.

His Ultimate Peter was one of the best things to come of from comics in the running century......

Looks like most are in agreement, Yost would be a great replacement.

@punyparker: Thats why I said he's better off left doing his own stories in the Ultimate Comics that includes Ultimate Spider-Man. He gets to write his take on Spider-Man without the continuity and be able to have the freedom of how he thinks they should talk. but in the main Spider-Man thats a big HELL NO.

Btw, I think the only issue of Fraction's Invincible Iron-Man run that had Spidey in it was #7.

This,and some others had only Peter,and a DB photographer,and he interacted with Tony,and i know for a fact he was in Invincible Iron Man #500.

I've wanted Gail Simone to do her dream run on Spider-Man for years, now. Matt Fraction would be awesome, too.

Wouldn't surprise me if waid got it. His Hulk run hasn't gone well and he is starting to get unhappy with fan criticism. Yost, Bendis would be great, Fraction too.

@bezza: I don't know about Waid his story on that Electro was pretty bad. Also what makes his Hulk run so bad?

His Shocker story and especially the Spider-Man Family Business Graphic novel are masterpieces.
