I am new to spiderman in comics and I wanted to start reading his books. Comics from any era or time period are okay. What series or books would you recommend for someone who doesn't know much about the character in comics? Thanks

Ultimate Spider-man is a great place start as stated above. I would also look for The Amazing Spider-man Essentials which collect a lot of Spider-man's early days written by Stan Lee and others. I would also suggest J. Michael Straczynski's run on the book which was great, some of the best story telling for Spidey. A lot of the early Dan Slott days were good, such as "Ends of the Earth" and "New Ways Do Die"

Ultimate Spider-Man the first 160 issues is great.

Read nothing that says Superior Spider-Man unless you like to waste time and money.
