So...looks like Dock Ock is giving himself an upgrade to his outfit.
Personally, I think it looks pretty awesome. It might resemble Scarlet Spider's costume a bit, but I like it overall. I also love his new arms. It really acts as a nice hybrid between Doctor Octopus and Spider-Man...I just wish it wasn't drawn by Ramos.
Definitely liking the new costume. The back legs remind me of the Iron Spider costume. I wonder how the new web gauntlets are gonna work though since they look completely different from Pete's regular ones
@extremis: Nope, solicits just mention that he's on the hunt for Hobgoblin.
I do remember Slott saying in an interview that Spidey-Ock is going to have another change in status-quo, and that there will be a new costume to reflect that. Guess this is it!
Alex Ross designed one of the greatest Spidey costumes ever.
I still wish Raimi would have used it in his film. I love every time they bring something inspired by the design into comics.
I cannot agree more. This design is just PERFECT!!! Fresh and new, but still keeps the feel of the classic costume. Also since his suit was originally red and black it just brings things back to basics. Hmm, I just realized something. Miles Morales' costume is based on Alex Ross'!!!
I liked this suit and the idea (Peter without the morals, almost super villain level) behind it better when it popped up in a What if comic and Peter kept his sense of humor!
... Which admittedly, isn't on display here, but you get the idea!
Actually, come to think of it, this particular What if in retrospect seems to be 'Superior Spider-man' done right.
Peter IS actually Superior to his previous self, his morals are significantly lower, he's not acting necessarily like the 'Friendly' Spider-man we know, but he's kept his sense of humor, there's a good reason behind it beyond 'BRAIN SWITCH WITH DOC OCK'.
If they had just brought this into canon, updated it a little so it makes sense in the 616 timeline, and made it a coming home story, with Peter coming back to New York in his new persona and once again acting in the public light as Spider-Man, it could have been really cool.
Am I the inly one not digging the new costume? I mean I like the Alex Ross one but something about this one I just don't like. Too bad, I'm gonna miss the old Superior Spider-man costume.
First they stole the idea of Superior Spider-Man from Mega Mind and now their stealing the Alex Ross costume? (sorry, accitdently trolled a diffrent thread other than a spider-man thread earlier and so I had to come here to troll a spider-man thread otherwise my personal balance would be off)
