Hi Everyone

I thought I'd set-up this thread for the simple purpose to provide a place for individuals to put up what happened in any issue that SSM appears in. It's not meant for discussing the issues, lets leave that to the threads already set-up, like

The whole purpose of this thread, is to allow people who have decided to stop reading anything SSM to keep track of what's going on and want to know when or if Carlie exposes SSM and When or if Peter returns.

I personally will not be filling in any spoilers as I have decided to stop reading anything with SSM as of issue 10, unless certain characters appear in the issue. But what I will do, is keep track of the issues being released with SSM in it.

Those characters are

All I ask is, if you decide to spoil an issue before the official release date, please do use the spoiler block to conceal it until it is officially released. And make sure to mention what issue the spoiler is from.

SPOILERS

I managed to locate youtube videos by "TheFullComic" & "ComicBookCast2" showing cover to cover issues of SSM, how often he releases them I'm not sure but I'll post them as they come.

To Start off - Here is issue 9 (you have been warned this is a spoiler.)

1-Ock begins to wipe Peters memories

2-Peter fights back

3-Ock enters his mind to fight Peter

4-Peter fights back with the representations of people he cares about

5-Ock fights back with Peters enemies

6-Peter fights back harder while loosing his memories as Amazing Spider-man Man

7-Ock fights Back as Superior Spider-man

8-They have dialogue between each other while fighting

9-Peter mentions, how he killed & brutalised his enemies & how no-one longer trusts him

10-Ock mentions how Jameson & the police like him and how the streets are safer, and that how he did things resulted in criminals escaping and killing more people.

11-Ock mentions how he didn't behave like Spider-man when he tried to stop him from operating on a child in issue 8

12-Peter tried to say he didn't trust Ock, but realised it was because he didn't want Ock to get the helmet and find him with it.

13-when Peter realised it, he lost the will to fight and Ock manages to wipe Peters memories and wins.

What pissed me off wasn't only the fact that Ock won but that he made the final act (in issue 8) of Peter a selfish one. to me it seems that slott is trying to destroy everything Peter stood for.

and that is the reason I am putting the brakes on me reading the issues. Except if characters I mentioned appears.

I appreciate this thread. I also appreciate this thread's title -- made me laugh for some reason.

I'm using Slott's treatment of MJ and her perception as a metric of whether I'm able to respect him ever again or not. Everything thus far points to "not a chance," but I guess we'll see.

I'm very sure the mystery man is Cardiac because why else would he be introduce? He looked like Cardiac, he knows about Doc Ock's brain thing, he knows Spider-Man wasn't acting like Spider-Man. I thought it might be too obvious, but I've sorta learned that that's Slott's signature move! making it so obvious that you'd never think that's how it was! Pretty sneaky!

#15 Posted by animehunter (2013 posts) - - Show Bio

@teerack: I doubt it is Cardiac, because as far as I know he was never on the police force and the conversation he was have with Carlie sounded like he was on the force and something happened that got him suspended from it or "Leave of absence", also I believe the conversation happened while Cardiac was attending to the little girl in his hospital.

A short synopsis of Superior Spider-Man #10 Spoilers follow you have been warned. The Green Goblin finds a fatal fault in Otto's Camera Spider design and messes with the ones surrounding Mary Jane's nightclub. While Otto is busy getting himself closer to being an official Doctor again and generally enjoying life as Peter, he flat out ignores MJ and she is starting to get pretty damn suspicious of him. Later he is having dinner with Peter's family and goes off to have dessert with Anna (The short college chick). While MJ's club is getting attacked and burned down MJ knows that Peter will always save her. Otto gets some dry ice burns while catching Anna and she makes a sex pun involving dessert but before they do more than kiss, he is pulled away to a crime in progress. Sadly, it is not MJ's club because his spider-bots are working for Green Goblin and he doesn't know about the fire. At the end GG calls himself the Goblin King as it is revealed he is amassing an army. Overall it was a pretty great issue, still seems like they are pretty heavily setting up his downfall to make room for Peter to return.

Just to add We see Captain Watanabe, who apparently was the one Carlie spoke with on the phone with back in issue 8, questioning the officers, who weren't forthcoming about what they saw, about the shooting of Massacre by SSM. And has allied herself with Carlie in order to expose SpOck.

Mary Jane also made it out of the fire safely, A little burnt but safe. Unfortunately what this did was strengthen her doubts regarding Peter now SpOck since he did not save her and all hope she had that she was wrong were squashed by what happened.

Thanks to @doctorgraybles for the synopsis

For those wondering about the relationship between SpOck & Anna Maria Marconi

I honestly thought she was a goner for a second. But... hypothetically, I imagined Peter (not Ock) appearing to rescue her as he apologizes on taking so long to reach her. We only later discover that MJ had died implying in her final moments saw heaven.

I know it sounds like bad fan fiction, and I'm glad MJ survived but I felt what we got was far more depressing.

CBR announces that Superior Spider-Man Joins "Mighty" Team

This week, Marvel Comics is rolling out the roster for a new team of heroes that will assemble during the events of Jonathan Hickman's "Infinity." Led by retired Avenger Luke Cage, the new "Mighty" team of heroes gather together to protect Earth while the Avengers are off in space. With Luke Cage already revealed as the first member of the team, Marvel has released an expanded teaser that reveals the next member as the Superior Spider-Man.

Much like the Luke Cage reveal, using the Marvel AR app on the image plays a video commentary by Marvel Executive Editor Tom Brevoort detailing where Spider-Man is during "Infinity" and his motivation for joining up with this team of heroes.

"Today's mystery character is the Superior Spider-Man, a very different flavor of Spider-Man than the typical hero we've come to know and love," Brevoort said. "Doctor Octopus has commandeered his body and is using it to carry out his own particular interpretation, his brand of what begin a hero is. During the course of the Infinity catastrophe, he is on Earth in the center of New York. it's his city. He's got it rigged with spider-cameras, spider-bots and spider-minions and there's no way anybody's going to be attacking his place without his intervention."

With the Superior Spider-Man as the latest team member, there are only four more members of the "Mighty" team left. Make sure to check back with CBR News throughout the week as more members begin to surface.

From what I can find this is what happened in Superior Spider-Man #11 - No Escape Part One: A Lock For Every Key

Put simply Jameson asks SpOck to make sure nothing happens during the execution of Smythe, he butts heads with Max Modell of Horizon Labs, he releases his spider-bots to re-enforce the security at the Raft, has a dialogue with Smythe & Norah Winters, reminisces about the time he spent at the Raft as a prisoner. Smythe begins his escape plan by commanding mini-Slayers to attack the people, which somehow got onto the Raft, and he attempts to escape through different means , but SpOck has thought of every escape route and manges foil Smythe. So Smyhte goes to plan B by releasing The Vulture, Boomerang & The Scorpion after using his mini-Slayers to repair any injuries that were inflicted by SpOck and intructs them to kill all in the Raft in order to escape.

Bit and pieces of the issue

- SpOck flirts with Anna Maria Marconi.

- SpOck is at risk of losing his job at Horizon Labs as he hasn't submitted any new work and his attitude towards Modell isn't helping.

- He complains about how Peter put limitations on his life and how he is now trapped in this life, but reassures himself that he is a better Peter Parker, a better Spider-man and that he wants the responsibility that comes with being Spider-man and what & how he does things is the right way, because he is THE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN

- The Raft seems to be in the process of being decommissioned.

- Jester & Screwball are being taken away from the Raft to another prison.

- The Lizard is currently imprisoned waiting to be transported, is considered a model prisoner.

- The Vulture (Blinded), Boomerang (beaten almost to death) & The Scorpion (bottom jaw destoryed) are in the infirmary having their injuries, caused by SpOCk, tended to.

- He insults the head of Raft security.

- He contradicts himself next to Norah Winters, states that a lifelong murderer can't change, can't suddenly become different.

This is what I gathered from Superior Spider-Man #12 - No Escape Part Two: Lockdown

Jameson escapes forcefield setup by SpOck to protect everyone

Jameson Rescues SpOck

Jameson asks SpOck to kill Smythe, SpOck confirms this while recording conversation

Battle ensues with SpOck fighting Smythe, The Vulture, Boomerang & Scorpion

Lizard gets free

Smythe sends Vulture & Scorpion to kill the civilians (Jameson and the others behind the forcefield) (incl. Norah Winters & Glory Grant)

SpOck defeats Boomerang

Smythe tells SpOck to make a choice, Jameson or the other civilians

SpOck chooses none and says there's only one thing he has to do, "Slay the Spider-Slayer"

#34 Posted by animehunter (2013 posts) - - Show Bio

My thoughts on Superior #13

Sooooo... I'm not sure what to think about the finish to this 3 part Superior storyline. You have Spiderman commit his second murder. You have Smythe try to do the same thing to Spock that Spock did to Peter (mind swap). You have Spock with a base now and ordering minions. And you have Jonah hating him again. It seems like Slott is just trying to make things as surreal and strange as possible that there's no way this can be the new long term status quo like they say. This has to be a slow burn to bring Pete back within a year or so. If not, this is going to be the weirdest comic ever and definitely not a Spider-man comic. I figure, since they two a month, they will aim to make the change back to Peter around issue 50, which will give them two years.

Thanks to @camstevens80 for providing the spoiler

They have been ever since the Mary Jane incident, but remember after the whole reboot, Black Cat does not know who is under the mask and she never wanted to know, because she was in a relationship with Spider-man not the man under it. Marvel might be thinking that, as she never knew who was under the mask, they can get away with adding romance into the mix.

In other words - What the #@&%$ is Marvel thinking.

I have a feeling things are going stir up again, especially in regards to the cover.
