Spider-Man and Pamela Isley: Could it work?

Alright, well a lot of talk has gone on about who Spider-Man should date next. A lot say Ms. Marvel, which I don;t really agree with, but am not absolutely objected too. There's even been some talk about She-Hulk. But personally the one relationship I'D like to see would be POison Ivy and Spider-Man. Spider-Man seems to really get along with and respect women and Ivy would appreciate that.

Plus, they are both geniuses, and I'm pretty sure Spidey's a fan of botany (Anyone with a brain knows how Ivy feels about Botany) And BTW (Because I know this will show up) IVY IS NOT A LESBIAN!!! Her kiss is just a weapon, so the whole Supergirl thing is BS. And she and Harley are just BFFs.

In addition, for those who didn;t know Ivy recently went hero so that wouldn;t really get in the way either. So THESE are my reasons why I think they should date

1) Spidey respects women, and Ivy likes that in men. Spider-man wouldn;t seduce/manipulate her

2) Spidey loves redheads

3) Both geniuses and like botany

4) Spider-Man, who often sees good in her, would sympathize with Ivy and how mistreated shes been.

So what do you think? Spiders protect plants from being eaten. Would Spidey do the same for the bautiful redhead?

Prepare for a lot of "There's only ONE redhead for Spidey" comments.

Also, since when has Spidey ever showed an interest in botany?

(For the record, I do like the connection to actual spiders and plants, that's pretty clever).

In theory, I think they might work, but it depends on what the writers want, so I'm pretty sure the writers would find a way to make it not work

Peter's morals are too on the straight an narrow as soon as he knew she was a killer he'd try and put her in jail even if he's attracted to her! I don't think this would work I like your reasoning though its interesting!

There is only 1 former criminal chick for spider-man....and she busy with Daredevil.

To the topic spidey has more of chance with dating Silver Sable than ivy.

The current writers involved with Spider-Man are not interested with that relationship. But I am sure that they have gone on more than just one date together. It's just in the background. I am assuming that Peter and Carol go on dates as much as he does with Betty Brant on a monthly basis. Otherwise, why would she admit to having feelings for Peter Parker unless they have gotten to know one another outside of the Avengers on a date? The same might also apply towards his mutual relationship with Jessica Drew as well in the backgound.

This has been put on hold due to the writers but it is not completely out of the realms of possibility due to the fact that not all of Webb's predictions have happened yet:

So far we've seen:

Sasha getting the mark of Kaine, the grim hunter getting ressurected, the lizard returning, Kaine dying, Kravens ressurection and Arana beaten by Kravens daughter

What we haven't seen yet:

Spider-woman getting beat up for some reason, that big electrical storm thing, Venom Vs Rhino (or that could be Rhino Vs the New Rhino is which case we have seen it. Looks more like Venom's arm to me though), and Spider-man kissing a blond woman who looks an awful lot like Ms Marvel.

I don't really see much thematic purpose...

I mean the connection with the whole spider-plant stuff was rather clever on your part but beyond that I can't really see something thematically interesting that could be gleamed from such a relationship...

Marvel keeps dropping hints at it not including the Grim Hunt thing:

Avenging Spider-man 9 has him teaming up with Carol as the new Captain Marvel so maybe they'll explore it there.
