I don't know if this is how it works in the comics, but in the first movie they did a close up shot of his hand and it had all of these little brown claw/stinger/piercing things on them. He then pressed his hand to a brick wall and it stuck, allowing him to climb it. If these things are strong enough to pierce everything that Spider-Man has ever climbed, wouldn't an open hand slap from Spider-Man rip someone's face off since human skin and flesh isn't anywhere near as resilient as a brick wall is?
Can Spider-Man rip someone's face off by slapping them?
As far as I'm aware, the little stick hairs that he had to climb up walls were just for the movie. No, he wouldn't slap someone's face off. Even if he slapped someone, it wouldn't do that. It would just have the same impact as a strong punch or slap. No tearing.
Maybe not slap, he has to like well, more shove then tear than slap.
I am a bit worried about the implications of this thread to be honest. Worried and scared. For the future. Of people with faces. Also the other threads.
Can Hulk jump off someone's shoulder so hard, that one their shoulder would en up inside their own knee?
Can Captain America, reflect his shield, with such accuracy it would go into someone's mouth while they were yawning?
Can Cyclops, give corrective eye laser surgery with his eye lasers?
Can Thor make it rain... insides someone's stomach?
" He partially ripped the skin off Sasha Kravinoff's face during Grim Hunt, in a variation of the "mark of Kaine" without even slapping her. He just touched her face, removed his palm from it, and detached the skin. "
Aha thank you, i was trying to figure out whether it was Sasha or Ana, and hoping it was Sasha. That part of the story freaked me out. Well... until I read the What If lmao.

I decided not to read that What If? after people advised me against it (and after a few spoilers). It just seemed such an odd route to take when Joe Kelly already provided what would have happened had Peter killed Kraven within that story (and how he would be effective as a "destroyer").
" @SC said:what pi$$ed me off was that they didn't use those really cool scenes as a guide for the What If? story but instead they made a really crappy story instead" @Morpheus_ said:Anytime." Enlighten me, please. Didn't read much of Supes, 'cept "The Man of Steel". Not that I dislike him, I just don't have time to read Superman on top of ASM, Uncanny(started from the first GS X-men), Batman, and Avengers.
Back on topic,
Spidey's ability to adhere to surfaces is mentally controlled. Now I believe he's displayed more unbelievable feats in which he's torn off things while sticking(I think onetime he pulled off a chunk of concrete he was sticking to). I'm sure if he wanted, he could palm someone's face and tear off ALL of the skin that he is in contact with(much like he did to Sasha K.,but worse).
" @Morpheus_:Damn, Joe kelly loves to do this.
Props man.
He also did the same to Ol' Normie in the American Son arc, where he was being tortured by Bullseye, 'cept in this instance, he used his fingers:
Normie is much more durable than the victim he mentioned, so Imagine Spidey's whole palm on someone's face. "
" @Deadcool: What issues or years is this stuff from? The last time I read Spider-Man (maybe like 15 years ago) 1)he was a happy go lucky guy who cracked jokes all the time. 2)When did he switch to ripping people's faces off? "
- Well, he still like that, he have been always like that, a Good guy with dark tones...
- But this happened because the Kraven Family killed one of the Spider Women (Mattie Franklin), Kaine, The son of Dr. Curt Cunnors, Rhino's Whife, and destroyed the DB's building, and also Madame Web...
Then, he was really angry when all this happened, the responsible of this, is Joe Kelly...
" @pepperr said:He really knows how to make a serious spidey. That's a really cool way to use that ability of Pete." @Morpheus_:Damn, Joe kelly loves to do this. "

Spidey is not always like that. Only when circumstances force him to be more ruthless, he does these things.
=]
Definetly if he slapped hard enough and was super pissed like he was in that comic but he was just aming for her eye there. Now could he flick someone unconscious?
@Emperor Gonzo Noir:
man of steel women of kleenex rite?

Flicking someone unconcious? More like flick someone dead! Lol
Well yeah. True but he wouldn't do that. He COULD though.
@spidey_15: what issues does gr hunt start again
@the_waffle: but thats his own face
@gamiz7: true lol
Hope Pete rips off Superior Spider-Mans face.
Hahaha, you took the word out of my mouth. I so want a Pete vs SpOck showdown in the current Spider-Verse series.
Can someone join this debate

This is what happens when Spidey slaps someone full force. So to answer the question, yes partially. Look at Fisk's face in the bottom right.
@anjales: He's not at full force there... He's just mad , but he still is holding back , you think fisk would've tanked 1 punch from pete if he was serious?
Dude was 25 tonner in back in black , a lot more when in danger and for a few moments , like double.
So a 25 tonner if serious can dismember a normal human being no matter how bulky they are.
