"I'm trying my best to help you" s he muttered, frivolously aligning her shady documents. She wasn't the best liar, but at least she tried her very best. And as far as she knew, Noah believed every word shared in confidence . Speaking to another human since the incident felt refreshing. Years of isolation can make a man savor the nuances of conversation."For the last three years you've been playing games" s he sneered. Various voices lingering between exasperated breaths. Their collective patience tested by his unwillingness to assist a muddled agenda. Noah can only snicker after experiencing such rude interrogation methods. Poor things aren't aware of proper etiquette . Too bad no one taught them manners.
"Can you please tell me the truth?" she intensely scolded. The grungy prisoner smugly chuckled as her words held a certain reverence in his frigid heart. "Nope" his raspy voice briskly responded. Her answer given without the slightest hint of malice. Her arched eyebrows indicated confusion. His vow of silence broken with a simple gesture. Preposterous for the voices hidden from plain view.
"Why can't you?" she curiously asked, very much unaware of his vast intelligence. For just a second he's nearly enamored by innocence in the midst of treachery. Noah childishly ignored her inquiry. These voices were watching. Using a different interrogator whenever his walls didn't budge, but now his weakness is very much transparent.
"You see the truth is heinous. It can be twisted into a weapon. An abomination that'll ruin lives. I've worked my entire life to end the voices from causing anymore disarray. Acting as a shield against injustice. And like a thunderbolt I've struck down every individual whom believes themselves above anyone else." He admitted his motivation. If words weren't shared her life could end abruptly. The voices have a tendency of getting rid of those who don't match expectations. Noah knows from experience. Its why he's been here for so long. He won't discuss the happenings in Augsburg, Germany. He refuses to even mention the atrocities he witnessed.
"Sweetheart. I'm not a renegade. I'm not a double agent. I'm all about upholding principles in a world gone wrong. T-This world is losing its honor as people in power grow by the day. The voices didn't care till my work went mainstream. Ending a terrorist's life live on CNN is frowned upon in t-this establishment." He paused momentarily, stroking crimson colored hair.
"So I'm here just sitting. Locked up. Interrogated for about three years in hopes of learning the truth, but I won't say. At least not yet. I gotta know if I can trust you. Get to know one another. One on one." His violet eyes glimmered as her face is left pale. His sayings alone will keep them both alive. In time he'll escape. In time he'll be called upon for the greater cause. Its his destiny to balance this universe before the scale is tipped.
