All characters have that turning point, that one thing that makes or breaks them and shows not only the world, but themselves, who they truly are. It shows their character.
What was your character's?
Your Character's Defining Moment
This may sound strange or corny. But it was the moment that Jake chose his name, with it he embraced by his own will the legacy that had been given to him.
It was then that in his own terms he decided to carry the name Nighthunter
Being poisoned, falling mentally and physically ill and becoming the horsemen famine because of it. But what really defined him was not becoming a monster, but controlling it and even building a life.
Merc was a young wild child adopted by the Samurai. His defining moment was when he held his ancient and mystic katana, and realized the power he withheld. Strolling away from his burning dojo with his sensei's decapitated head in his small hand, Merc found that he loved death. And she loved him.
This was more so me growing as a writer, but the moment i started taking on all these titles.
- The Battle Queen
- The Queen of the Rpg section
and Blaze blah, I started seeing a more solid structure in my writing as opposed to my once sporadic style. It also gave my characters attitudes.
@Night_Rake: That would be pretty nice. I don't want to have write Rake off before I even fight him. LoL.
As far as the topic goes...
The moment he got his first taste of power. That taste became an all consuming addiction that possessed him. It was a motivation for his actions and drove him to the lengths he's gone. Anything resembling power earned his attention. With knowledge being power he also seeks Pool of Infinity in hopes of attaining the knowledge he requires.
Every time a evil demon asks him how he could slay his own kind and he says "Cause im just a little different"
@_Whisper_: I'm surprised I didn't get a response out of you on that. lol
Hawk - Becoming Lord's Angel and nearly destroying the world.

@iLLituracyI'm sure you'd enjoy it, too. Then regret it...then maybe at a later date when you've lost a great load of self respect you can enjoy a second go.@The Dark Huntress said:Im sure you'd enjoy that.@iLLituracyI know. @Richard Wolfe: I'm attempting not to give you reactions when you're so clearly looking for them ;)
Now you sound like my wife.
H0p3 comes from another universe where she was artificially grown (probably cloned) in a lab. They used to keep her in a kind of Virtual Reality simulation, ala "The Matrix" to run tests on her paranormal physiology. One simulation was particularly natsy where she was being tortured and abused in the worst ways possible. She ended up, by force of will, "waking up" from the simulation and escaping from the lab.
This was her defining moment when she not only freed herself from abuse and torture but also accepted and embraced her power as a force for good.
