@the_psyentist: Still got flu, but f*&k it. Dance time.

How hard would it really be to go to off-topic and/or general and recruit ten or so 'anti-spam' mods who could -only- deal with spam and had no other authority and were recruited from people who were online nearly 24/7 (there are plenty of them). Then switch the ban bot so that instead of banning it flags posts that trigger its ban script. Bot flags, a couple of the spam mods check the suspicious thread, make a judgement call and then delete the post and ban the account if it is indeed spam. They could even make a special mod que for spam identified by the bot.
@felix_faraday: Damn. How long have you been sick now?
@the_psyentist: Since like Monday I think. :P I think my immune system is weak AF.
@felix_faraday: Pop that zinc and vitamin C. :P
@the_psyentist: I think it's just cause I don't acclimate enough.
@felix_faraday: I mostly get sick because of allergies. F*cking rhinovirus.
What the hell is going on here. Got 3 notifications and no tags or anything just took me to random pages lol
@cassius_knightfall: You're one of the lucky ones. Site's having another one of its episodes. Ton of folks got auto-banned.

WHAT?. Just kicked off?
@lady_liberty: Heck, I'd probably be down for something like that; hammering a bunch of spammers at the end of long work day sounds like great stress-management. Spambots are like zombies, you can just totally wipe 'em, guilt-free, lol.
@jungala: Indeedy lol.
They need to get the site working then hit the place up with like 4-6 new mods. Get a antispam strike force on the go.
@_ophelia_: Use traditional Pete. No one's using it. =)

Harder than any of the higher-ups have the attention span for.
Why fix the site when we can just keep having ad revenue as CPR?
@thisisgonnahurt: To tell you the truth I think if the site didn't ban so many people ad revenue would increase because people wouldn't leave as much.
Sort of backwards isn't it?
Ban most if not all of the new accounts because the spambot's out of control so we can have more forum stability, meanwhile the code is cracking at the seams.
This obviously means more money.
@_nobody_ So I think I'm going to give up on this Arcane route. Sh!t makes 0 sense to me.

Lol, right?
Welp, looks like I won't be doing any roleplay on this account until these flipping ban bots get fixed/all of my blogs are undeleted. Which sucks -_-
Till then, @_nobody_, there's a new Skyrim roleplay on RpNation. I'll link you to it.
Who dares to join you on this venture through broken streams of code and rampant banning machines?
Doom dares.
I think for the rest of the time I'm here Kristina and Maya will be my mains.
I don't have any attentions on returning to STRIKE, doing any 3rd Society Work....OR furthering the Liafador Legacy. It's time for something new.
@dreadpool10: Will look into it.
@_nobody_ So I think I'm going to give up on this Arcane route. Sh!t makes 0 sense to me.
Kay! Need any help with your powerset (again)?
@_nobody_: Gonna be making a new roleplay on there as well. Survival based.
@dreadpool10: Link me to that, as well lmao
@_nobody_: Done, check the PM :)
@dreadpool10: K, will do. =)
I'm still on hiatus but for whatever older viners are left and remember, Lillya Wildchild, she passed away :/ I dont know details, but it's a horrible loss....
She was a fellow rper who started back in 2008 and unfortunately hasn't been around for the last five years. But she was a very talented and kind person. If you pray, please keep her family in your prayers. I figured those who do remember her would want to know because I know I would.
Okay, wow. Didn't expect that one today.
I wrote with her maybe twice, but I remember her. And I won't forget.
@thisisgonnahurt: I know, I would have sent PMs to people rather than post out on a thread but I'm not at home (I've been staying with my grandma) and only have my phone and I'm not able to make PMs on my phone. Must be another bug.... Idk So I'm sorry for just dropping out on here :/
Nah it's not that, don't worry about it.
We're just rickety old codgers is all. Not many of us left.
I'm sorry to hear that. I never knew her but, she has my condolences irregardless.
It's all good for me to see it.
My laptop was wiped clean....Everything is gone. PM me if we had something in the works please!
Vex here btw.
@feral_nova: It's a tough thing, losing a friend. I'm very sorry to hear that.
@asmodeus_prime: I haven't even looked at his bio, but just by the name and those words part of me kinda wishes I could throw Trinity at this guy.
But even if I were totally game for the idea half I'm still hesitant to write high-powered characters in fights.
I seem to have found a resurgence in energy.
It's pretty understandable. A high powered character can very often trash an event. I've seen quite a few events here to be honest, have people drop out because of Power Creep, Power Seep. Other people go into a fight against a high tier expecting this to happen.
When, it doesn't. For some people, they don't wanna bend over and nerf themselves. People don't bend over when their character clearly wouldn't be phased by certain attacks. Other times, people just get no sold or don't really bother approaching because their character logically wouldn't. So then they just drop out and such. They go into fights expecting people to nerf themselves or for high tiers.
This character is functionally a glass cannon. Kind of like a squishy wizard. A sort of glass cannon. Like Cyclops, Storm or Dr. Strange. He can fight with high tiers but still be harmed by low tiers. Even then,his power does fluctuate with roughly how many worshippers/followers/people who have faith in him there are. He sees earth as a very easy place to spread his influence and wants to take advantage of it. His defense is however generally high and his powers can be very Hax in some ways (especially his telekinesis since he can grab anything he sees..) He is high tier but is something meant to be combated by either another high tier or just a street level who can exploit him. Or is just clever enough to fight him in ways that are not direct. But, I also plan for him to be generally tactical.
I mean, he's a guy who can deflect a planet busting attack with a mirror. But he can still get shot. I actually planned on giving him a magitech barrier against FTL, that won't work on things slower because it would repel things like ordinary light that he needs to see and stuff like that? Why? Cause magic :P (Though of course it will sound better.)
I wanted to make an event that truly can encompass a wide variety of people. I wanna try to do this by thinking of more objectives for people to do than the typical formula that consists of "Fight and fodderize mooks, than boss fight." Everyone kind of complains "street levelers aren't really worth a damn" because most every event is more about overpowering people than anything else. For example, Maverick as a whole isn't exactly super high tier and aren't anything compared someone like thee champion. But they are arguably more useful when it comes to something like actually saving people. Or when Bradshaw got paired up with FlashFire, a FTL speedster with moonbusting punches. Couldn't do anything to save surkit from a device he was hooked up from that'd kill him if he wasn't taken off it properly.
Though, not every case is extreme, I want events to have different, important objectives for everyone to do aside from "Beat up the mooks, then beat up the boss." I remember the Iceland empire claim was actually so ideal for street levelers that high tiers showed up, tried the brute force stuff and made things worse. The same thing could be done again and I figure I should try something similar here :P
I wanna write a non-canon story where instead of just exploding 1/5th of Antartica in a fit of rage after loosing his mom he just snaps and goes full on demon rampage mode.
I'll probably be pretty busy today. Pyro and I have the day off! Going to go to lunch, maybe shopping. But I'll be back to write stuff up later.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too.
:D
