Whatever Happened to the Zero Squad?

It had been years since the metal clawed hero known as Ronin Alexander had been heard from. Rumors had circulated that the hero had been killed or black bagged by the government after his failed attempt to bring down the Les Assassins Silencieux. No one knew the truth. As for his team, the Zero Squad, several members stayed while trying to piece together the fractured remains of the once mighty team.

But now it would seem that the team had disbanded. Leaving behind the legacy of Ronin. However Gambler didn't care about the man's legacy, what he cared about was the information the team had gathered while working under the U.S. government's sponsorship. Gathering Platinum Warrior and the Republican Guard commander, Drifter, he decided to sneak into the United States and ransack the now abandoned Zero Tower.

The Zero Squad

The name alone carried great weight, for the team that had remained top dog for so long, some of the greatest heroes to have ever walked the Earth was a member of this team. But like every team, it splintered and finally the team divided until finally Ronin Alexander decided to put the team together again. During his leadership The Zero Squad and The Black Rose had an "exchange". Lives were lost as TheDrifter drove a jet straight into the Squad's tower, Soon afterwords Ronin went missing leaving only his team members behind. God knows they tried to keep the legacy of the Zero Squad alive but all good things must come to an end as finally the team disbanded.  But it seemed the team was working under the sponsorship of the United States Government. Sebastian's teammate Gambler had gained interest in what knowledge the team might have gained and left in the the tower. Gathering Sebastian and the arch villain Thedrifter the three would head too America and ransack the tower.

Using his arm to shield his face from rays of light that shone through the private jets window as the jet began to descend to the runway. After a smooth landing Sebastian got up and began too exit the jet. The three had successfully made it too America now came the hard part.

Years ago, The Hellfire Club made it's name as the premiere team for villains, put simply as only allowing "Thee Elite" to join. The downfall of the Vine Villains was imminent when the Hellfire Club's numbers grew more and more eventually they recruited and up and coming warrior known as the Renegade Lantern. His natural ability to fight paired alongside his green lantern ring made him a perfect addition to an already perfect team graced with legends such as Final Arrow, Barguest and Forever to only name a few. But as flames flickered and died, Gambler had reason to create a new legacy, Renegade Lantern had other plans and thus perhaps the greatest neutral team was forged. They called themselves the Zero Squad and painted a tale of heroics involving treachery, lies and everything it took to be called an anti-hero. Some time later, a former team-mate would receive the blessings of the off the map Renegade, the first step to bring the currently dead team back to life? Go after the Hellfire Club's predacessor, The Les Assassins. Their mission was obviously a failure and now like the leader before him, Ronin fell from grace and had not been seen in a good while. But it was'nt an adamantium coated hero that currently interested the needs of Fifth Republic, but rather the lost documents of US goverment intel.

Lives lost as a symbol of hope was laid to waste by a mad man with a rocket powered grenade launcher and today the same man would rummage through his destruction along side The King of Kings and the Deadly Assassin.
