The Artificial Mutant's Creation
In the recent uprising of Anti-Mutant Activist throughout many cities, and possibly in other countries, law enforcement officials have worked endlessly to keep such protesters same from resulting accidents, generally caused by the mutant, metahuman, and superhuman community. However, even the most prestigious amounts of protection won't be enough to prevent retaliation.
August 14, 2014, a rally for those who opposed the empowered community was lead throughout the streets of Seattle, Washington, protected by several squads of officers. However, it seemed that the protection surrounding the civilians simply wasn't enough. In moments, many of the officers were bleeding out upon the ground. Several fiery outburst had surrounded them, decimating the streets, sending the protesters into panic. In the resulting chaos, in which several masked mutants attacked and slaughtered dozens of activist, the fluctuating energy from their powers, as well as those of other empowered individuals that showed up in the mist of the slaughter, somehow spawned this... creature.
Base Powers/Abilities
- Energy Battery/Transformation/Evolution: One of Unit's primary abilities, besides power absorption, is that he is like a battery of energy, energized by the absorption of organic material or other metahumans. With the more energy that he gains, the stronger and stronger he becomes, until his current structure is simply not enough to handle such power. At that point, his body would begin to shift and evolve itself into a better state, capable of freely using the amount of absorbed power, until it is time to evolve yet again. One might see it as a sort of cycle, more or less.
- Energy Manipulation: Because of the fluctuating energy that created the prodigal mutant, Unit has gained the ability to manipulate, shape, and manifest energy in quite a few desirable ways. From projecting it into harmful techniques against others, to temporarily enhancing his physical stat, to even manipulating a sort of field that would grant him the ability of flight.
- Absorption: Unit's primary ability, the Artificial Mutant possesses two ways of absorption. Using the stinger of his tail, he can suck in the organic material of biological beings. This way is slower, and generally guarantees the death of the victim. The other way is to have the tip of his tail expand, opening up to envelope the target, and absorb them whole into his body. The latter way is generally used for particularly powerful beings, and gives Unit a bit more power than merely absorbing their organic material.
- Superhuman Strength and Durability: Naturally, Unit's physical capabilities exceed that of an ordinary human being. Currently, it seems that he is able to lift approximately 65 tons with a moderate amount of effort. In the future, if he exerts himself further, he can possibly lift more. His durability allows him to withstand tremendous amounts of trauma and damage. The peak of these superhuman abilities has yet to be seen.
- Superhuman Speed and Agility: Unit's ground speed is above that of an olympic runner, and possibly even faster than that. His agility is impressive, being at a metahuman level, of course.
