Here is what was believed about Code: Red which was the only part I had revealed about his origin
But it was NEVER as it seemed.. That was not the Code: Red you know...
Origin, retirement and legacy:
Real Origin:
After the assassin known as Code: Red killed Don Hank Payne's wife by using the blood that covered him from his wife as lubricant, Hank manage to get lose from the handcuffs at perfect timing right before the original Code: Red reached him and finish him off. Code: Red unaware that Hank had free himself he came to dismember Hank to make him suffer as much as possible before actually killing him, but Hank before Red achieved his goal, he manage to kick the knee cap breaking the Code: Red's leg inwards. While the Code cried in pain Hank proceed to disarm the assassin and grabbing the weapon with both hands, tightening his grip Hank enraged he stabbed the knife on the original Code: Red's skull ending the rein of chaos of the real Code: Red.
Hank seen as his whole family was massacre by this madman while looking at the limbs of his precious family he fell apart emotionally as he grieved for his wife and children. But it could not end this way. Holding in the pain and replacing it with anger as he was taught in the Marine special forces Hank looks at Code: Red's dead body and realize that the man was just an assassin.. A dog.. a puppet.. Nothing more... There had to be a puppeteer pulling the strings and there at that very time after taking off the clothes of Code Red Hank burned his home and was the very next day found at the hospital where he stated that there was an assassin trying to kill him and that the man had burned Hank's house with his wife inside and was still at large.. But it was all part of the plan to avoid suspicion. That day Hank was apparently moved to a safe location but in fact he was still at the city now under the mantel of Code: Red hunting the scum of the underground looking for the puppeteer of the original Code: Red.
Retirement:
After years since he took the Code: Red mantel and years more after the last Blade tournament and all the assassinations and dead end investigation, after a mission in which he barely escaped alive Hank realize that he was been beaten, not by any living breathing opponent but by father time and a terminal illness product of his performance drugs. Hank was crushed, for not only he failed his wife and family but he also lost himself in the hands of the demon of vendetta; All he got in return was heartache, sickness, remorse and a eternal torment in which night after night he drowned at the mercy of a greedy bartender.
Several consecutive weeks Hank ends up in the same bar in a path of auto destruction by drinking his life away till he could no more. One night when the bartender finally decides Hank had enough to drink and he took the man's keys the old Code is forced to walk home in the middle of the night drunk zigzagging and puking along the way Hank next to an ally he leans against the wall trying to breathe and rest. Little did he know, he picked the wrong wall to lean on. In that alley a gang of street youngsters were beating on a young man who had apparently betrayed the gang. After beating the "traitor" out of the alley the hooligans notice Hank minding his own business.
Hank then was was gasping for air as he leaned on the wall and struggle to hold the pain cause by the many weapons the gang used to strike him- That is when it happened, from the alley foot steps approached and against counting just on instinct Hank launched his knife over the edge of the curb into the alley and heard the gasping of a person in fear. Looking over to the alley Hank notice the black dragon knife stabbed into a trash compartment and right next to it a broken nose young boy scared shitless after been missed just by two inches by the knife. As the boy is panting scared he hears on the background a thud, when he looked Hank was on the floor, not moving the boy quickly went to a public phone and called 911.
From the ashes:
The very next day Hank wakes up at the local emergency room shaved, cleaned and with several anti-poisoning serums been injected into his arm, the nurse that attend to him revealed that they found him nearly dead and if it wasn't for a young man that found him he would of been a goner. The boy with the broken nose then walked in having a nose guard after been helped by the doctors. The boy asked Hank if he was OK to which Hank just nodded and thank him for calling the emergency lines and asked him his name; to what he responded he called himself Dan, then he reveals that he lives in the streets and that night he had given up the street gang which was why they became hostile. Dan was leaving the room, he said he just wanted to know how Hank was doing before his departure; Hank realized that Dan was just going back to the streets and would just get beaten until the gang is done with him, Hank felt that he had a debt to pay and what better way to pay the boy for saving his life than by teaching him how to survive in the concrete jungle?
Hank took Dan to his new home far away from the city where he has been living ever since he retired from the assassin business, his company was run by other, he only served as chairman which lately he couldn't care less about it. Dan was amazed by the number of different knives that surrounded Hank's home, that was Hank's passion collecting rare knives, priceless knives from all over the world.
Finally reaching the training room Hank went right ahead and revealed himself to the boy telling him about his double life as an agent of Vendetta, at first Dan was frighten and came to judge Hank as a murder, but that was until he heard the facts about Hank's family. Then everything changed. Hank then told Dan that he would be his trainer, he would teach him how to look at the eyes of death and laugh with no remorse, to be fearless and to train his senses to an unimaginable level. Dan asked if he was to become an assassin for Hank but that was not Hank's plan at all, Hank simply responded that the path Dan takes after the training will be his own choice and no one else's. He will have the choice to do his will for when it is all over Hank's debt would be settle.
Day after day and night after night Hank dedicated his full time to train Dan as a Marine taking incredibly intense training under the tutor of an assassin. Hank other than tactical field training, mental training and survival, he also taught Dan several martial arts such as Hapkido and Capoeira other than that he added swordsmanship, knife throwing, marksmanship and help him develop his reflexes but literally shooting arrows for him to deflect or avoid for his life till Dan reached the peak of his ability reaching the very level of his master with Hank's method of doing things facing real consequences with no fear of what may come

Finally after countless years of training his pupil Hank was finally satisfy with what Dan had archived, his pupil was a masterpiece which filled him with pride, now it was all up to Dan on what he chooses to do with what was taught to him by his master for Hank's debt had been paid by pushing him into the very peak of a drugs free super soldier..
