@Inner_Demon:
Cedric felt an intense pain in his head, followed by a lack of balance. Thankfully, he was seated, and all he had to do was brace his legs against the sides of the bench. Standing up, he walked to the edge of the cell and spoke, talking to the agent standing outside the cell. "That test should of come in by now." Silence greeted him, so his face grew serious. "Lad, I need to see her. Now. And if I don't see her soon, things are going to get very nasty." His voice had dropped to a rumble, indicating that he meant every word of what he said.U.N. Metahuman Affairs
@_Sojourn_: "Well, I started caring," she replied, "So I don't get to stop. A hummingbird can't put out a fire with the water in it's beak... but it'll do the best it can." she took one last look back at him, "Goodbye, Mr. Blaire."
@Lady_Liberty: "Hey, Lib!" Melissa called from inside the Director's command room high atop the control tower. She looked through the window, waving to her friend.
@Agent_Hannigan: Still rubbing my head and a little confused as to what could have caused that sudden spike of pain earlier, I shrug it off and fly down to the control tower. 'Permission to come aboard ma'm?' Grinning a bit, it was good to see Hannigan again.
@Lady_Liberty: "Like I have a say in the matter." Melissa chuckled, rubbing the back of her head. She'd been having headaches all day, but that was migraine territory. "I should probably head down there in a minute, so what brings ya here?"
@Agent_Hannigan: A military chopper landed on the top of the carrier, deployed from the bottom was a titanium box. As the front of the box opened, Russian soldiers poured out of the chopper and trained their weapons on the opening box. The sergeant of the squad spoke to the nearest crew member in his home language. "We have a special prisoner for you, our prisons can't hod him! Please notify someone ASAP". The box finally opened to reveal Creed, his entire body encased in a vibranium shell. "Heh...I could use a glass of water about now.." The mutant said with a grin.
@Agent_Hannigan: [[ That was your six hundredth and sixty sixth post. Just thought you should know! ]]
'This and that.' This was one of those rare visits were business and personal were hopelessly blended together. Some.. news of late that I was not quite sure how to deal with. Hannigan was a person of the proper authority, and also a trusted friend with a level head. 'Actually if you've got a moment to talk that would be cool.'
From the helicopter cockpit the vessel looked small. His altitude was no doubt the cause of this but nonetheless he was expecting more. This was all besides the point. Ethan took a deep breath then dove out of the copter head first. His freefall form provided for an extremely fast descent as he raised the gravitational force placed on his body. He covered 5,000 feet in under ten seconds. Using the same trick he landed light as a feather. A man that stood by, providing maintenance to an aircraft marveled at his feat with a look of awe. Ethan turned to the man and smiled politely. "I'm no enemy. I'm simply wish to speak with an Agent Hannigan." The man nodded. "I'll take you right to her."
@_Creed_: The sudden intrusion drew both his escort as well as Ethan's attention. His eyes locked with a rabid Creed as he noticed the metal restraints restricting his movement. "Figures." Ethan said as him and his escort made their way towards the Agent.
@Lady_Liberty: "Sure," she replied, leaning with her shoulder against the wall, "Lay it on me."
@_Creed_: @Ethan Starks: "Um, excuse me, no!" Melissa called over the still slowing helicopter blades as she walked down the tarmac toward the man she assumed was in charge, "Our holding cells are intended to keep prisoners until they can be transported to a proper correctional facility. Who authorized this, and why was it not me?!"
@Agent_Hannigan: Hovering just a few inches off the ground I take a moment to collect my thoughts. 'Well it turns out I have a child. A daughter from the future.' Oh, and she was a remorseless killing machine with approximately zero respect for human life. 'Its.. well, its Kratesis.' No idea if her latest string of murders of hire were on the U.N.'s radar, as I had no clue how much they kept track of the worlds villains.
@Lady_Liberty: "Of course you have a daughter from the future," she groaned, "Who doesn't have a daughter from the future?"
@Agent_Hannigan: Nodding and laughing. 'And besides all the regular complications I become a walking cliche!' Of course she was more like my gene engineered lab project, but.. that counted in my opinion.
@Lady_Liberty: "So, what's this got to do with me? You want me to stop her from slicing Australia in half with her eyes? Catch her before she flies around the world and prevents my birth? Or will she be the first super-daughter from the future who turns out to be cool? No offense, of course. I mean, she hasn't even been born yet."
@Agent_Hannigan: 'Well I was kinda hoping you could let me know if she does anything really bad.' Supervision didn't mean unlimited time, and I couldn't keep track of Kratesis very much anyway. She was my responsibility, and I wasn't going to let her just roam around and do whatever she wanted. 'Oh, no laser vision. In fact she doesn't have any of my powers. Think of her more like a heavily enhanced Impero with the personality of the terminator.' Think of her like a giant pain in my behind. Agg. Shouldn't think of my child that way, but.. it was true.
@Lady_Liberty: "Oh, joy to the goddamn world." Melissa groaned. "Okay.." she said, walking over to Liberty, "I promise I'll keep an eye out for her. But from how you describe her, she may be the one keeping my eye out. With her bare hands."
@Agent_Hannigan: Nodding in gratitude. Anything bad enough I would have to intervene would no doubt come to her attention, and I trusted she would let me at least try to take care of it. 'Thank's Melissa. From what I've heard she's on this kids team called 'Genius Inc.'. Some kind of mysterious billionaires fund it for unknown purposes. Doesn't exactly feel me with confidence.' Kratesis was fairly dangerous and didn't seem possessed of much of a moral code, she could be used for purposes very negative for the world.
'On a slightly less soap opera note, I've left the League of Shadows and teamed up with the JLI. Much to the displeasure of the fish kid. Venture Boy, or Vapor Kid or something.' Fish heroes. Never cool. Plus the smell.
@Lady_Liberty: "No comment on fish boy," the Director replied, "But the League -the, uh, the other League- are good people. Of course, I'm over the moon because it's a superhero team connected to the U.N., which makes me Nick Fury." Hannigan paused, "Man, I'm bringing up eye-gouging WAY too often."
@Agent_Hannigan: 'Ever think about an eye patch?' Picturing it cracks me up a little. 'And if the U.N. job doesn't work out you can just take your ship here and become a pirate. Easy transition.'
@Lady_Liberty: Melissa pressed her hand over her right eye, "Yargh." She'd rather have an eye drive than a patch. That way, she'd be able to see the Silence. Also, it wouldn't require the removal of an eye, and that was a big part of her decision in this hypothetical scenario that would never happen.
@Agent_Hannigan: "Apologies Director but we have orders straight from the Russian government that this man needs to be sent here and transferred..A normal cell is not meant for him! He can multiply!" The commander became uneasy just thinking of Creed's mutation, clearly causing some sort of chaos in the mother land. "No but really, about that glass of water" Creed vuts into the conversation.
@_Creed_: "I don't care! He's not the first multiplier the world's dealt with, and as I said before, these cells are meant as TEMPORARY HOLDING! That hasn't changed since I told you the last time."
Atticus slid his and across the gray wall, feeling the cold cinder block as they stood motionless supporting the ship from the inside out. He thought, in somber quietness. "Here I am again. No one to talk to" Being a self proclaimed pariah was hurting more and more, and it had begun to show in the polls. He had no one to fight for him, no surrogates to speak on his character. He was trying his best to make a friend out of Melissa, but in the span of three days she had literally turned his back on him.
@Amelia_:Deep inside the hull of the ship, there was a potted bonsai tree. Within a few moments, it started shaking violently and begun growing rapidly. As the potted plant crashed to the ground after shaking itself off the desk, it only took seconds for woods to grow into his ten foot tall body. Not even attempting to be stealthy, the elemental walked through the large ship finally honing in on Amelia in the med bay. Upon entering, he sealed the door shut with ten layers of bark from the strongest trees on earth. Now looming over the girl, he gently placed his large mossy hands on her temples. and closed his red eyes. "Young Amelia...Can you here me? Can you feel me in your mind?" Wood's telepathy was one of the strongest the world has ever seen, if he could'nt even make a slight connection with her, she truly was lost.
@Tanner_Brenkov: The sound that replied to the creature's telepathic message barely resembled something human. It sounded like something muffled, bits and pieces of speech that on their own seemed like unintelligible noise. However, once connected, they started to form the most basic of words, none of which formed anything closely resembling a coherent sentence. The girl was debilitated, mind and body, but she was far from beyond saving.
@Amelia_: Sleepy woods focused, searching the inner energies of the earth for the genetic footprint of Amelia, looking for every time she had been around plant life and vegetation. Everyone's energies and genetic codes are carbon copied onto plant life when a physical connection is made. It would not be alot, but he sent her carbon copied brain algorithms into her mind, hoping it would construct somewhat of a sentience, at least enough to communicate for a bit.
@Amelia_: Woods had seen this before, it was clear now what was doing this to Amelia. It was a stral parasite, usually clinging onto the back of the victims head, unnoticeable to the eyes of a mortal. Luckily Sleepy woods was no mortal. He focused his inner mental power to feel out the parasite, and with everything he had, attempted to obliterate it.
@Tanner_Brenkov: To ears attuned to the psychic medium, there was a series of clicking noises.. followed by what sounded like the insect equivalent of a shriek. There was no obvious sign that the creature was gone, but the range of devices hooked up to the girl started to make noises. She was still unmoving, but the machines seemed to indicate a positive change in her health.
@Amelia_: "This is the most I can do for you..Young Amelia.." Woods knelt down beside the bad and gently pushed his finger against her forehead. "You will hear these words when you awaken child. Your time to die is not here Amelia...You are more important then you could ever imagine..." The elemental pulled his finger away and stood back up. He opened the window to the med bay and disintegrated into dozens of flower seeds, being swept away by the sea breeze.
@Agent_Hannigan:
Mindscape
The small black cocoon began to wobble around, slowly at first. One half tilted up, then fell back to the ground. Loud screaming noises came from within, the desperate cries of a girl trying to escape. One of the many bandages surrounding her fell free from the prison encasing her body. Sticking out of it were four fingers that immediately began to claw and the bandage above it. Seconds later, the whole had grown to allow a hand to fit out. It wasn't long before her arm was free up to the elbow. Wrappings were rapidly torn off left and right, being discarded onto the ground with haphazard urgency. Her arm was completely free of the bindings, and with a decent amount of squirming around, she got onto her back. Reaching over with her arm, she grabbed a long strip and tore it free. It took moments for her left arm to be free and tearing away at the wrappings. Next came one leg, then the other. Before long, she was getting to her feet, picking at her head. Setting her finger tips under a strip, she unraveled the bandage on her head, making haste. Her eyes barely got a momentary glimpse of her barren mindscape. Just a glance, lasting no more than a few seconds.
Reality
Amelia's eyelids snapped open, harsh white light greeting her when she awoke. The sound of violent coughing filled her room, and she sat up on impulse. Loud beeping noises pounded in her ears like an electronic roar. Amplified by the sudden return to reality, her senses were temporarily amplified from such a long period of inactivity. Swinging her legs over whatever it was she'd been sitting on, she pushed herself up into a standing position. The beeping got louder, and she felt a tug on her skin at multiple points. Grunting, she tugged back harder, and half a dozen wires were ripped free from a series of machines behind her.
Not stopping to check what they were, the confused (and obviously terrified) girl bolted out of the room.
@Amelia_: "Oh my god!" one of the doctors exclaimed as Amelia burst out of her room, taking chase, "Miss! Miss, please! You need to lie down! You might injure yourself! Miss, stop!"
@Amelia_: "Somebody grab her!" the doctor yelled, and a group of other doctors, general crewmen, and elites all lined the walls in her path, the strongest barricading the center of the hallway as the others closed in behind her.
@Agent_Hannigan: She rapidly found her path closed off. Behind her was the doctor, and even more soldiers on their way. All she could do was press her back up against a wall and slowly slide down to a sitting position. She didn't know what was going on. She was almost entirely terrified of her surroundings, of the strange men stopping her from leaving, one of them shouting orders to grab her. Her legs slowly curled up to her chest, and she tucked her head into them just in time to break down, tears already starting to stream from her eyes. In that moment, she resembled a frightened little girl more than she did a grown woman.
@Amelia_: "EVERYBODY MOVE THE F**K BACK!" a voice boomed through the infirmary. The crowd parted ways around Melissa as she approached.
"I'm... I'm sorry, Director Hannigan," the doctor mumbled, "She-she just--"
"Save it." the Director snarled, signalling for the crowd to disperse before she had to drive them off with her boot. She knelt down and leaned in towards her friend, convulsing and sobbing on the floor. "Amy..." she whispered in a comforting tone, "It's me. It's Melissa. Welcome back to the land of the living."
@Agent_Hannigan: It took a good few moments for the girl to even register her, let alone look up. When she finally did, she saw the one sight that made her a little less scared of everything. Her friend. Probably one of the few people she still trusted on this rock. "D-don't call me Amy, damnit." She muttered in between sobs, grabbing her friend and latching onto her. "You know I hate that."
@Amelia_: "Come on, sweety," she whispered, comforting her friend with a faint chuckle, "How else can I justify walking out in a bow tie and suspenders?"
@Amelia_: "Well, come on..." Melissa said, hoisting Amelia up in her arms, "Let's get you a into a proper room. I'm sure we've got a TV around here somewhere. Remember the TV? Your best friend? Yeah... the two of you've got some catching up to do."
@Amelia_: "So..." Melissa asked teasingly as she walked up the stairs and toward the open rooms near the stern, "Was it all black or did you go on a lengthy trip through Neverland? Did you dream about me? Be honest now."
@Amelia_: "Hey, if I were ever in a coma, I'd have the decency to dream about my friends. Or at least not answer their questions with a heaping spoonful of sarcasm."
@Amelia_: "Right. Sorry. Please, compliment my haircut with as much ironic intonation as possible. You earned it. Fire away."
@MrName
As he prepared for his next attack, Id paused. He could feel the dissolution of the bonds he had placed on Amelia's mind, which could only mean that she had broken free. "Ahh, I see. So you were merely the bait, little ghost. Clever, but the suppression served its ultimate purpose."
"Still," he continued, "I do not appreciate having my business meddled in. You have drawn the ire of the Demon of Silence, a course of action that you will come to regret." With that, he appeared to implode, as he returned to the astral plane to plot his vengeance.
