The purpose of the Brotherhood was to traditionally observe and adventurously partaken in historical events which shape worlds. Maintaining the belief that there are fixed points in time where events have had such a long-standing impact on the timelines that no one, not even the Brotherhood, dared interfere with the natural progression of the universe in fear of the colossal repercussions. The Brotherhood have many factions under their rule, and the one which presides over Earth, are called "The Wanderers" being a team run by thrill-seeking, daredevil assassins. All of whom are selected (by Peak) for being legendary Assassin's or warriors of their chosen era.

The Three Timeless Tenets

The Wanderers naturally hold a great deal of power, due to being time travelers, and traditionally the Brotherhood have held three tenets which restrict, and preserve, the integrity of not only the universe, but the preservation of the timeless order itself. These go as following;

"Your actions must never alter fixed points in time - Direct, or indirect, in doing so, you endanger yourself, and the Brotherhood"

"Your actions must never bring harm upon the Brotherhood, through action, or inaction, you must preserve our family"

"Whilst partaking in historical events, do not cause unnecessary harm. We are promoters of peace, not the harbingers of death"

The three ironies of the Brotherhood; the ironies did not undermine the Brotherhood. Rather, they demonstrated the way in which they embrace contradiction, "that one may be two things – opposite in every way – simultaneously." To grow stronger, and overcome.

"The Brotherhood seeks to give ultimate freedom to it's members; but require obedience to rules"

"The Brotherhood seeks to preserve itself; yet seeks out dangerous enemies for enjoyment"

"The Brotherhood seek to promote universal peace; but commit murder"

These are timeless tenets, and the Brotherhood of Assassin's has existed in many forms over many generations. The Brotherhood of Earth, is governed by one man, Peak, or otherwise known as, the Oncoming Storm. A man who fled his reality in the search of adventure and enjoyment, cultivating his daring disposition and lust for excitement, only to end up altering a timeline and turning a world from peace to war; he was punished by the Brotherhood. Only to end up joining the ancient creed, and beyond expectations...Lead the earth based Brotherhood, and from that day forward...

....The Wanderers, were born.
The Voyager

Hiding in plain sight like the elusive chameleon, The Voyager is The Wanderers amazing means of transport. Looking like a humble ship from the renaissance era, it actually houses an elaborate interior, taking advantage of the technology know as hammerspace, the ship is able to maintain it's relatively small size, whilst the interior is actually a separate dimension, and accommodates many teams members and wonderful pieces of technology which even the best scientist on Earth would fawn over at a mere glimpse. The Voyager is never in one place for more than a few hours, constantly shifting from place to place via teleportation (using technology stolen by Peak from his originating world) or simply sailing, the ship maintains the look of a sailing ship whilst on earth to be inconspicuous, whereas, as some of the team have suggested, why not use a spaceship? This would be too overt, and, due to The Wanderers being part of the Brotherhood of Assassins, they have to keep their activates somewhat clandestine. The vessel is their means of time travel.

@mastermouse: Thanks :) tried to find someone who fit the tone of the team without being from Assassin's Creed (mostly cause I figured they'd all be taken, haha)

@peak:

I can blend in with the rest of you if I need to.

#31 Posted by Peak (1018 posts) - - Show Bio

@catriona_knightfall: It's not twenty, it's 10 posts and after 24 hours or something it goes away. Damn cheating mods!

Whats the criteria for a character? It's a good story I'm thrown off though on what the order is. Is it like the game where you inhabit an ancestor to time travel, are you a person from the future who travels to and alters the past? Or are you from alternate universes?

#37 Edited by Private_Barnes (79 posts) - - Show Bio

@peak: If you need a guy to help on the side of missions, lemme know.

#38 Edited by Peak (1018 posts) - - Show Bio

@surkit: The leader (Peak) is from an alternate universe, for example. Many other people on the team are from alternate universes too and Peak found them, offered them a place, and they joined. One member is from the CVnU, it's really varied. If you're from earth, no matter what universe, you could be recruited. "The Wanderers" are one branch of the group known as "The Brotherhood of Assassins" who reside elsewhere, and this team reside over all earth realities.

#40 Posted by Surkit (11603 posts) - - Show Bio

@peak: So whats the goal?

#41 Edited by Peak (1018 posts) - - Show Bio

@surkit: The purpose of the Brotherhood was to traditionally observe and adventurously partaken in historical events which shape worlds. To have fun without restraint; keep people from meddling with time, etc...

#42 Posted by Vamoose (1380 posts) - - Show Bio

Badass, Pyro. Badass.

#43 Posted by Peak (1018 posts) - - Show Bio
#44 Edited by Surkit (11603 posts) - - Show Bio

@peak: So to boil it down it's a team of alternate earth characters mostly who preserve history while fighting NPC time travellers. Are the NPC's like another order like the templars? Do the wanderers know what history to preserve? Say on one world the British won the war and thats natural to wanderer X, if you take him to the Prime U will he try and stop washington?

#45 Posted by Peak (1018 posts) - - Show Bio

@surkit: Less preserve history, rather more, indulging in it. Many of the Wanderer members are people who have decided to abandon normal life and venture out, joining this team (kinda) gives you ultimate freedom as not only do you teleport and explore the world, but you explore time, and that, is an adventure and a half. The only requirement is you pledge your allegiance to the Brotherhood and then, you help preserve time, but I've not thought about that yet. The "fixed points in time" are things like 9/11, major events, World War one and Two. But I have no idea yet, I mean, all worlds have major history, and say some NPC tried to go back in time and avert 9/11, this group would stop em.

No idea about templars yet, not expanded on their myths and lore (I am doing that tomorrow).

#46 Posted by Surkit (11603 posts) - - Show Bio

@peak: sounds like it's got some rough edges but I respect the concept. Is that the next ac character to the far right in the pic above?

#47 Posted by Vamoose (1380 posts) - - Show Bio

@peak: Mind if I get Max Attilius to learn parkour btw? Been meaning to ask you thus since yesterday lmao

#48 Edited by Peak (1018 posts) - - Show Bio

@vamoose: Want me to teach you? :D

@surkit: Rough edges! Yeah man, It's still rocking in my head, and thanks, I appreciate it. Nah, that's some Russian dude from a past game. New dude is French, don't like his outfit.

#49 Posted by Vamoose (1380 posts) - - Show Bio

@peak: No need to lol Max Attilius roamed the world after his escapade alongside Z, he pinpointed a few techniques he should learn in order to serve on duty.

Thinking of having him to get to Skellbrieg via plane crash lol

#50 Posted by Peak (1018 posts) - - Show Bio

@vamoose: That's coolness, I guess.

LOL That's cool tho.
