The Demise Notebook

Overview

The Demise Notebook is a weapon of murder straight from the deepest pits of misconduct and insurrection. It is a force of corrupting power that allows its owner to write the names of individuals within its seemingly limitless pages. When that happens, the victim will be surrounded in an invisible veil of dark magic, killing them in whatever way the user described. Its power has been wielded by few mortals in the past, though it has changed hands many times through history. It is a serial killer's most valuable weapon in murder, though it does have its limitations...

Rules

• The individual whose name is written within these pages will die.
• The magic will not take effect unless the user it picturing their victim's face in their mind while writing. Therefore, people sharing the exact same names will not be killed as well.
• The user has 1 minute to write the name of the individual, and 40 seconds to write the cause of death. Details of the death, if wanted, should be written in the next 7 minutes.
• If the cause of death is not specified, then the victim will simply collapse and die of a heart attack.

Limitations

• The dark magic used to kill the victim does not work on immortals. It will harm immortals, but not kill them.
• Beings of exceptionally powerful wills, or wielding a high level of magic are able to resist the effects of the Demise Notebook, and therefore, stay alive.
• Users of the notebook are unable to kill their victims in ways that are physically impossible.
• The Demise Notebook will only take effect if the victim's legitimate name is written. If any aliases, false names, or otherwise disguises are written, the dark magic will not take effect.
• The notebook can only work on living individuals. For those already dead, they are unaffected by its powers.

OOC Information (Rules)

• Getting a demise note ain't easy, not in the slightest. They'll be located in the most remote locations, or on different planes entirely. So if you ever think of gaining a demise notebook, sell how difficult it is.
• It isn't impossible to make a demise notebook, but it is extremely difficult, and requires intense levels of dark magic, and the sacrifice of a portion of the maker's life force. Remember that.
• More things may be added to the OP later on.
• You don't have to PM me if you want a demise notebook, but read what the first OOC rule says.
• Don't expect anyone people to sell having their character's names written in the notebook without permission. Its most logical to use it on NPCs.

@vamoose: If I had one of these Demise Notebooks, I would have a powerful mage cast a spell on it that if anyone were to simply steal it from me, there death scene would be instantly added to the contents of the Notebook. Others would be allowed to use it with my permission, but not take it. Well they could take it, sealing their fate.

@dreadpool10: Indeed... I had a Wizard character in AD&D that had an enchanted gemstone in his pocket that would absorb Thieves spiritual essences into it if they tried to pick-pocket him. He had an army of spectral Thieves residing in his pocket.

A LOT of thieves tried to pickpocket you, eh?
