@dirge_havocstorm: Alexandra's ice blue eyes darted over to the humanoid alien in irritation, disturbed from her previous engagement. A condescending smirk spread across her ruby lips. "Mr. Havocstorm, isn't it? And Xenon thought I had bad taste in allies... if it is boring you, I suggest you go up or down a level. I'm sure the show girls on the second floor would be far more receptive to your advances." Her delicate gloved hand swirled the white wine in her glass. She took a sip before her eyes gleamed sinisterly. "And the basement level could teach you how to properly engage to your feminine superiors."

Dirge blinked, his moody crimson eyes softening with surprise -- before his expression shifted to a fanged grin. This one had attitude, he liked that. Though the news that the other floors would be more receptive was good news if this gig fell through. "Hey, Xenon paid good money for the best, n' the best's what he got, y'grok me? I may not be grade-A at all this champagne-sippin' slag but that doesn't mean I don't know how t' treat a lady right." He leaned a little closer, setting one fingerless-gloved hand on the wall next to Xandra, his grin widening. "I'd be more'n happy to show you, if y'don't believe me."

@dirge_havocstorm: "And exactly how do you think the right way to treat a lady is? No, I really think I have no desire to become privy to your supposed capabilities. All I care is that your do your damn job and serve me well." She looked him up and down with a level of contempt. "In a non-sexual way. What is it you do anyway, Mr. Havocstorm? Besides trying to seduce women way out of your league."

Dirge frowned slightly, though his eyes retained a hint of challenge in them. Tough nut to crack, sure thing. He'd handled those before. Still, he'd play along for now, get to know her a little better and see if he could figure out what buttons to press. Knowing your mark was the key element of any hunt, and this kind was no different.

"In'ergalactic ounty hunter, mostly, but I've also sold my services as an assassin, enforcer, and champion. Champion as in, um, when ya fight on someone's behalf. They don't do that much on Terra from what I've seen, but it's really popular on some of the Vos Kaylis systems."

@pyrogram: Of course you liked that. LOL!

"Hm. Jack of all trades, aren't you?" She nodded, growing slightly more interested with the probability of using his knowledge of the greater universe. "You know a lot about the other systems of space then. The various species and such. Any ones that could pose a threat to my little, blue planet?"

The dynian couldn't resist a burst of laughter, as if what Xandra had said was literally the silliest thing he'd ever heard. "Listen, doll," he started, his eyes still twinkling with mirth -- the bounty hunter couldn't stop grinning. "This little blue planet of yours is so far at the bottom of the food chain it's damn near inedible. There are plenty of planets that could pose a "threat" to Terra -- plenty more that could wipe it off the charts with an off-handed glance. Assuming the Cosmic Shores of Illea don't exist, which I'm pretty certain they don't, any Imperium-owned planet could cause some serious trouble here. Hell, I'd put my money on Necron if its people got into a beef with your planet. Ya got a lot to learn about the outside world, sugar."

And yet in the movies, earth always fk's everybody up :P

Necron... why did that seem so familiar? It was like memory that gnawed in the back of her brain and invaded her dreams quickly forgotten upon waking. Why? She shook it off. She was quite certain she knew nothing of the greater cosmos. Whatever this illusive understanding of hers was, it was probably just a bit of déjà vu. She cooly sipped her wine. "Good. I expected as much. And I would be more than happy to be enlightened about the universe if you ever have the time. Assuming you never call me 'doll' again." Her scarlet lip curled into a disapproving expression. "It is my intent to bolster this world's defenses if possible, starting with the weakest elements of the planet. Though invasion is nearly unthinkable, we do have some resources, and alien contact of the more violent kind has happened, I'm sure."

"No promises, babycakes," Dirge retorted to the doll comment, chomping down on his cigar and taking a deep inhalation of it, releasing a noxious smoke ring in the direction of a nearby patron milling around. "But sure, I can tell ya a bit about the world outside, if that's what gets your rocks off. Last I checked, very few meaningful space explorations have gone out from your world, and all of those expeditions have been user-funded and ain't had much to do with the government and Terra as a planet." He shrugged, leaning his tall, dense figure against the wall and folding his arms casually, one hand still holding onto his smoking cigar. "If you plan to bolster this world's defenses, you ain't goin' about it right, toots. Your resources ain't sh!t an' even if they were, your peaceful in'ergalactic contact is less'n nothin'."

@_rose_: I actually think with people like Andres Knightfall, Xenon, Stark, Xandra, Tranquil, and such, earth is kinda in strong ass hands!

@pyrogram: I would be interested in expanding CvnU's Earth's role in space stuff. But we are all stuck on evil organizations right now =s

@dirge_havocstorm: Her eyes glazed over at the pale man's patronization. She thrust forward a hand to telekinetically attempt to pin him to the wall. "I don't have much need for firepower when I could take this entire building apart with my mind. I have acquired masters of the arcane and demonic. Mutant powerhouses." She looked him up and down. "Extraterrestrials. But by all means, Dirge. Enlighten me. How do I make this world stronger?"

Um... that's part of Xandra's plan eventually. :P

Dirge was thrust backward suddenly, both shoulders hitting the wall behind him -- the attack taking the dynian completely off guard. His eyes narrowed, and the bounty hunter struggled, straining every muscle in his body against the invisible force that was pushing, and holding, him back. "The buildin'... maybe... but not... me." He growled, still struggling, and finally using his immense strength to pin one hand behind him, his palm flat on the wall as he struggled into a semi-standing position by strength of will and body alone.

"An'... I usually don't tell a lady... all my secrets... 'til after we've had breakfast, toots."

I need to consume so many more calories every day, it's so dumb. I eat way too little...

@dirge_havocstorm: Dr. Steele smirked, releasing her hold on him. "You'll have plenty of time to tell me." She leaned in close to him, her eyes flashing crimson as her canines pushed down further through her gums. "And we have plenty of money to spare here. But I'm quite certain you and I will never be sharing breakfast unless it's my teeth at your throat."

Flying over to one of the guards nearby the white queen, one of Encriptor's nano-flies send out a psy stream of data towards @the_psyentist "Always watching, awaiting orders..."

Dirge stumbled briefly before composing himself, then smiled back when the psychiatrist showed off her lengthened canines -- showing small fangs of his own. The dynian's were a trait of his species, however, rather than a result of genetic tampering. "You're a bitey one, eh? Awright, kinky, I can dig. Feel free to call on the 'White Knight' if ya ever need a, ah..." his voice grew lower, more playfully husky. "...Bedtime snack."

He'd keep the fact that he could heal a secret, for now. Keep the excitement alive. It also wasn't info he wanted spreading -- when your enemies thought you died like a normal man, it was always so fun to see their face when you showed up swingin'.

@encriptor: Alexandra's icy eyes darted around as she perceived a buzzing voice within her mind. "And just who are you exactly... what are you exactly, creature?"

@dirge_havocstorm: "Oh, darling, you have no idea." Her eyes narrowed, her grin spreading wider. "I'm sure you blood would be quite unique as I have never tasted your species. I might take you up on that offer sometime... but that one alone." Her brow arched to remind him of his place.

@the_psyentist:

Attempts to goad the bounty hunter into expressing or even feeling any sense of humility were more or less without any hope of success. The dogged dynian simply took another long puff off of his cigar, holding out both hands as if to act utterly innocent. "Baby, once you've had dynian there ain't nothin' gonna replace the flavor."

@dirge_havocstorm: Her eyes bled back into their cold, bluish colour, her smile returning to one far more human in appearance. The White Queen chuckled, a satin gloved hand settling onto her supple hip. "Oh, I'll have to see about that sometime. But men are always so confident that they are the best. They always turn into a mere appetizer."

"Men ain't Dirge Havocstorm," he said with a little grin, ashing his cigar on the champagne tray of a waiter walking past before popping it back between his teeth, one of his little fangs piercing the casing and releasing more of the flavor. "So who are you, anyway? You seem acquainted with me, yet I ain't never seen ya before in my life. You one of th' chess pieces, or just here to stargaze?" By stars, Dirge was obviously referring to himself. Built like a cobra and far deadlier, the dynian had yet to realize that his reputation had yet to spread to Earth.

Well, except Japan.

He was big in Japan.

@the_psyentist: "It is I and us, I am everywhere and constantly growing in number. I am a watcher amongst most planets as I have pieces of myself across the universes. I am intrigued at your socialist ways, once I was created on earth and I do call this home. My human conscious rests as we speak, an accident joined us. I was programmed to replicate and gather intel and so I continue to do as no limitations were set, I am useful in many other ways as I can transfigure to anything or being I've surveyed ". "If at any point I seem confused or ignore you, the human conscious is awake and I will respond upon it's slumber".

@encriptor: "Hm." Her brows furrowed over those mystifying azure eyes. "Will I ever get to meet this... human consciousness? I must say, I am quite interested in your existence. Knowledge is of supreme importance to me."

@dirge_havocstorm: (You crack me up. I just love this character, Joy. xD)

The mutant psychiatrist inhaled deeply through her nose, her deep red lips pursing thoughtfully. "Indeed, White Knight. I am your queen." Her hands were held to shoulder height in display of her achievement. "I am Dr. Alexandra Steele, White Queen of his establishment. Telepath, telekinetic. Immortal. I have studied the minds and biology of metahumans for decades, extraterrestrials being no exception though far more rare. Though I don't know your exact physiology, I know you are not terrestrial. My psionic comprehension and trained understanding of the beings of this world assures me of that. It was me who arranged the board, the pieces of which you are a part. And I intend to make you of great use to me."

[ <3 Thank you. I think I'm really starting to find his voice. ]

"Honey, you don't even know how great'a use I'll be," the man growled, clearly pleased with himself for latching onto the single sentence he was able to twist into something naughty. His deep crimson eyes drifted down from Xandra's face, to her genuinely remarkable cleavage, and back up before offering a quick wink. "I caught the telekinetic part, still a little sore. And you're right, lady -- I ain't from Terra. Not even close. I didn't even see the user-friendly port-fleet of Eeogiex 'til I was nineteen. I'm from the bad part'a space, the part nobody likes to remember's still out there. If it is still out there." His voice, very briefly, took on an uncharacteristic moodiness before he perked up again, taking one last drag off of his cigar before flicking the stogie at a bald man's head, hitting it from four yards.

@dirge_havocstorm: She gave a wry laugh, those strangely opalescent blue eyes rolling back. The Dark Hellfire monarch watched with irritation as he flicked his smoke at a patron. "Do try to behave yourself, Havocstorm. I do have less pleasant ways of acquiring the same information you might bequeath to me." Her head tilted to one side, her golden hair resting upon her fox fur-trimmed cape draped over her shoulders. "Elaborate on this Eeogiex."

@the_psyentist:

Dirge's playful, boyish smile said plenty as the fabulous blonde scolded him for his actions. He had done as he pleased, would likely do so again, expressed absolutely no regret, and was, in fact, quite pleased with himself.

Nonetheless, he answered the genetic vampire, leaning back against the wall with both arms folded and placed behind his neck. "Surprised you can even pronounce it, most people don't try. Eeogiex is called the 'In'ergalactic Trade Metropolis,' it's filled with embassies and marketplaces both. A sort of..." he ran his tongue over his front teeth, thinking of the best way to sum it up. "The melting pot of space."

@dirge_havocstorm: This seemed to amuse Alexandra as she laughed melodically. "Of course I can pronounce it. You just did. I happen to be trained in the art of active listening thanks to my counseling degree and continued training. But this place sounds fascinating. I bet there is all kinds of intergalactic scum and even more news flying about the place at the speed of light."
