When the child was born, he was named Samson. He grew up to become an extremely strong man. One day as he was traveling through the country a lion attacked him. With only his bare hands Samson tore the animal in pieces and left the body lying on the ground.
Not long afterward he came that way again. He found that a swarm of bees had settled in the lions body, and that it was full of honey. Samson tore off pieces of honeycomb and ate it as he walked along.
Samson made up a riddle. "Out of the eater came something to eat, and out of the strong came something sweet."
No one could guess the answer until he gave a hint. Then they knew. "What is sweeter than honey, what is stronger than a lion?"
Everyone in the land had heard of how Samson fought against the Philistines even though he had been tied in strong ropes. Everyone in the land had heard how the Philistines had locked Samson in the city. But at midnight Samson slipped down to heavy, locked gate in the city wall. He pulled up the gate post and all, and put them on his shoulders. Then he carried the heavy gate to the top of a hill. When the Philistines went to look for him, Samson was gone.
What everyone does not know... Is that Samson was a lustful man and he bedded down many wenches, when he was deep in his drink, he would lose all control and he would take his frustrations out on his lovers. He was an abusive, cheating, good for nothing, drunk.
Samson loved a woman named Delilah. The Philistines knew Samson loved her even though she was a Philistine. The Philistines begged Delilah to find out the secret of why Samson was so strong.
The Philistines offered Delilah eleven hundred pieces of silver if she would find out why Samson was so strong. That is what the story tells us, the truth was a different story altogether. No amount of silver would have been enough to get Delilah to betraying her man, it was jealousy that took control over Delilah.
Naamah was using the name Delilah in those days, and she was Samson's lover, and she dealt with the drunkenness, and she dealt with the abuse of his rage, but she was still a wrathful woman, so she could not deal with the adultery. So with a heavy heart Naamah betrayed her lover, out of jealous rage. The rest of the story goes just as it was written, save for a few unknown details.
Samson found the strength inside himself to push the pillars down, as they gave way and crashed to the ground. The walls and roof fell down on the people. Thousands of Philistines were killed, Samson died along with them. Only one person walked away from the rubble. In the darkness of night, Naamah left the land of Dan in search for a new start.
