For centuries the concepts of magic and witchcraft have intrigued and terrified the mortal world. Human’s insatiable fascination with that which they do not understand is rivaled only by their fear of it. This fear has bred countless persecution as well as execution of those who have displayed the possibility of possessing mystic abilities and powers. Throughout the years the number of magic-wielding individuals have dwindled, however they have not yet disappeared.
The city of New Orleans has been known since its construction as a city of mystery and magic. Its history rich with fascinating tales of mystic wonders and darker practices, it has remained one of the last safe havens for those who are born with arcane talents. And it is here in New Orleans where one of the last remaining Covens have gathered to preserve their kind’s safety.
From the top of her throne on Olympus, the goddess Amora has ventured to the Big Easy to gather a Coven for seemingly noble reasons. Known as the Madre Magia (Mother of Magic), she seeks to remind her children of the power they possess and the power they deserve within the world. However as her history has shown, the goddess of sorcery’s intentions aren't always what they seem. Now, in order to function within the mortal world, she has taken on the alias of Amora Campbell, a very wealthy widow whose late husband left her a large enough fortune to fund an inconspicuous academy for young women.
The Coven resides in an elegant colonial style home in New Orleans, with an abundance of rooms to house any future women seeking refuge from the outside world. A live-in butler caters to the needs of the house’s occupants as well as upkeeps the home and its grounds. The nature of the home is unknown to the outside world, despite the strange and unexplainable events often caused by its residences. Generations of witches have inhabited the home since its establishment, giving it a rich history and source of mystic energy. The deed to the house is currently under the ownership of Amora 'Campbell', the surname the goddess has adapted to in order to live among the human world. Women of all ages are welcomed to the home whether in search of tutelage or protection. Not all of the mansion's occupants are witches, however they all derive their abilities from some form of magic source.
