Stratego Consulting is the private enterprise through which Ethan establishes and maintains contact with the legitimate and legal aspects of his governmental, intelligence, and military based clientele. While the money is far better working on the dark side of the fence, he is also well aware of the many benefits that come from having himself entrenched as a valued, if not trusted, consultant to the very people who would be tasked to potentially interfere with his affairs. After years of trying and failing to tie him to any of the operations for which he is suspected to have masterminded, it was decided that using his genius for their own ends was far more useful than endless dead ends with which to curtail his actions.

There are no misconceptions, the very people who hire him know full well that he is not only capable, but willing to design acts of varying degrees of evil for the right price. If confronted as such Ethan makes to attempt to even hide the fact as such work only adds layers of armor to his activities. Over the years he has accumulated a treasure trove of knowledge as to the darker side of the world, any who would attempt to end him would take many down with him due to elaborate preparations. The very men and women sworn to bring his kind to justice, are the same who must secretly protect him or risk his secrets leading them to ruin, the not knowing is the fear that keeps the wolves at bay.

Ethan's work with this clientele is usually not for a set monetary fee as payment but instead to build a reservoir of favors with which to be called in when needed. Most of these favors are used to acquire data and intel on persons of interest with which to expand his knowledge or to formulate a strategy with which to deal with them dependent on his intentions. These are never used for calling in tactical support using intelligence or militaries resources as he prefers to use specialists and mercenaries due to their freelance status and inability to tie them to him.

The company itself only exists on paper, there is no office, no employees, nothing but a set of virtual phone numbers and varied contact e-mail addresses. Ethan's mutant ability to create duplicates of himself allows him to be a consultancy of one that can be everywhere at once, all aspects of the business are handled by one or another and the true Ethan is never met or even spoken to directly. One cannot be betrayed if one's criminal empire does not extend beyond themselves.

Should one wish to attempt to enlist his services a message is to be left in a designated voice-mail box as he never answers these calls directly unless it is a prior client with whom he has an established working relationship with. Should he find the request to suitably garner his interest Ethan will return the call and schedule a meeting where one of his duplicates will handle the face to face in order to protect himself from assassination.

• Location is a covert business and its existence will not be known by just any character, having a legitimate way of knowing how to get a hold of him is expected. Anyone with a military, intelligence, or governmental background or any contact within that community would do as well as any ties to the criminal underworld.
