“I’m sorry about all the restraints Mr. Abrams, but I can imagine you understand why you’re blindfolded and restrained to that chair.” Ruby said, sitting with her legs folded. “I had the child place thoughts into your head to wake you from your slumber; I needed you conscious, and didn’t care how comfortable your dreams were. Now, I need answers. Answers you will give me—or your time in my company you’ll find to be uncomfortable.”
She could see the disoriented mutant looking trying to get a feel for where he was, thanks to the special cognitive technology secured from the black market; any of his mental abilities would be rerouted back towards him, creating an imposter environment of his last known location.
“Am I under arrest?”
“Until I receive some answers you are.
“Terrorist!” He screamed, trying to make out the exact location of her voice, but he’d experience trouble with that as well; in addition to the mental blocking technology; she was also equipped with a sensory distorter—she could project her voice from anywhere in the room; despite sitting right in front of him.
“People call us whatever, the last time we saw this child; she was causing problems in Southern Venezuela. When we picked you up in Australia you were traveling with her? Why?”
“You’re crazy!”
“Why?”
She asked again, dismissing the previous notion about her sanity. Truthfully, she sometimes questioned it herself; but none of that mattered at the moment. “Why were you traveling with the child, more importantly how’d you even find her. My sources say she was killed.”
“You b!tch!”
“Mr. Adams, I’ve been so many different types of b!tches; I’ve lost count. But I thank you for your help. Agent Hollins we’re done here.” Ruby stood up and moved towards the door; she could see Mr. Adams head swiveling around in confusion; even Hollins had a perplexed look on his face.
“Take him back to where we found him” Two agents moved in an apprehended Mr. Adams and escorted him through the door.
“Uh…ma’am I’m confused. He didn’t answer any of your questions.” Ruby’s hands slid down to her slender waist before releasing an arrogant smirk.
“Not consciously he didn’t, I just needed him awake so I could ask my questions. The questions trigger a latent memory in the sub-conscious. The child on the opposite side has all the information we’ll need.”
“What child ma’am?”
“The Mutant Genesis…Kari. She’s alive.”
“Director Gallagher, are we really going to be arresting suspects?” Hollins asked slipping his sunglasses on as the two walked towards the conference room.
“Part of what makes us efficient Agent Hollins is the intel; the communication we extract from our suspects allows us to quickly analyze and adapt to challenges. If we have to indefinitely detain someone to do it then it shall be done.”
“I’m not sure the heroes will like that?” Hollins added noticeably dropping back a few steps. “They don’t know, I’m sure there will be some major sh!t storm if they find out; but I put those protocols in place to protect people. I’ll detain Maya Liafador if the situation called for it” Ruby halted her trek in order to fully explain the extent of her authority.
“We’re a world peace keeping organization, not just their world” She added removing a cigarette. “But on who’s authority can you do this?” Hollins asked again.
“MY Authority” her response was followed by a long drawn out silence between the two; they shared glances and a series of awkward coughs before Hollins obliged and headed off.
They were both thinking the same thing, Could STRIKE become too powerful?”
Because Emerald City was technically autonomous to mainland Spain; they were allowed to be here; however once the H.A.T.V was complete the entire organization would be in the sky, with select ground Hq’s in Emerald, Mutant Town and Solace City (Also Chinatown which I haven’t created yet). Without any government to enforce laws on her, Ruby was essentially the most powerful human in the world.
All thoughts of her power subsided the moment she entered the room, the agents eyes fixed on her expectantly; but instead of taking her usual spot at the podium, Ruby sat at the back of the class. “Alright, who has the session for today?”
From the farthest edges of the room she saw Agent Norfleet’s hand raise, it was unexpected. Despite being a communications expert; Norfleet rarely ever paid attention to anything, the fact that she voluleentered to go first suggest she had actually read up on some of the material.
“This should be interesting, what do you have for us today Agent Norfleet.” Ruby asked, sparking her cigarette up in the back of the class. A couple of the agents tried their hardest to waft the smoke away from but Ruby continued to blow it in their direction anyways.
“My subject is Renegade.” Norfleet said, opening a manila folder with Ren’s data. “Alright, what are her skills?”
“Classified.”
“What?” Ruby said, with a curious brow. “We should have something on just about everyone. Real name?”
“Classified”
“Parent’s name?”
“Classified”
“Date of Birth?”
“Classified”
Ruby placed her hands on her forehead realizing Ren must’ve somehow erased her data from the databanks; truthfully she couldn’t get to mad she would’ve done the same thing; however it now occurred to her as to why Norfleet picked Ren—the ease.
“Agent Norfleet, can you tell us anything about Ren that isn’t classified?” Ruby asked running her hands through her short hair.
“She likes cake.”

Short Bio:
Classified developed a mutation in her early years, and due to their knowledge of her brothers, she was enlisted by the Classified – a covert unit – at the age of eighteen. With them, she operated as the agent known as Classified, with her name and description known to none, other than her handler. While with the Shadow Initiative, she made a name for herself worldwide as somebody to be reckoned with, and as a bane to those who stood in the way of the Classified goals – primarily the protection of American citizens and assets.
During a particularly contentious mission, she was betrayed by somebody within the Classified. What happened in the year following is something she never speaks about. After that period, she adapted the codename Renegade, and cut all ties to any affiliations. Since that point, she has been running missions concurrently with the Classified, and at many times working against them. Her mission is her own now.
The face and true name of the agent known only as Renegade are known to less than ten people, although multiple covers of hers are known.
