Once inhabited the soul of Egan the Vile-1, but was driven out due to it's proximity to the Sword of the God Formula, The Nocturnal assumed the darker part of it's former host's life, serving Aztek the Lost's VV, and plotting the destruction of the cyborg he once shared bodies with.  The Nocturnal was created from the evil purged from Egan's soul.
