Incorporating this into the Ragnarok planet I'm cobbling together so that users can get awesome weapons, pets, and even mounts from fighting certain "boss"-level characters.

Drop rates have yet to be finalized (or even thought out at this point) but I would like some input on what everyone would want to see. You can check out a list of the current bosses I have in store, with plenty more on the way. Please try to keep consistent with each boss and what they drop, like Beltohk the Houndmaster can drop hellhound pets and has a rare chance to drop a full hellhound mount or something.

@tranquil:

The aforementioned drop rates that I have yet to even try to come up with.

I might just do an online randomizer, attach numbers to the items, and do that based on how rare said item is.

In Borderlands Dragons Keep dlc they used a regular d20 could do that

So using the hound idea 1-5 might be just a hound 5-10 might be a hell hound 11-15 might be a large hell hound 16-19 a cerberus 20 a Cerberus with an actual name and unique abilities etc a legendary cerberus of some sort

So does anyone want to submit at least the concept of ideas?

This is an open invitation for everyone to be as creative as they want to be with items related to the specific environments of Ragnarok where your characters can find them.

Kicking this back awake.

Surely there has to be some weapon or piece of armor you want to have or own, but don't have the means of obtaining it without some ridiculous plotline.

Come on down to Ragnarok! Kill our bosses, get loot.

It's that simple.

Now start brainstorming. All of you.

We'll i've been a few of Roleplays with loot systems... there basically just literative dungeons and dragons. You have your classes, damage, stats, races, side-quest and finally, dungeons and dragons.. Just like any mmo or role playing game, the more you play the better your character becomes. Which would include a leveling up system and etc. I usually play the tank, putting all of my stat points into defense and HP while someone else with DPS attacks the enemies.

There actually really fun and time consuming.

As promised:

Demon Weapon (can be any melee weapon, i.e. swords, axes, spears, etc.): Only a handful of these weapons are said to exist and although one or two are known to be crafted every millennium their number is rather dwindling than growing. The reason for this is simple: A demon is bound into the frame and forced to lend its strength to the wearer. While it makes the wearer incredibly powerful giving him the physical attributes of the bound demon the same demon constantly struggles for freedom and will inevitably gain it after some time. Even if he has to take over the body of the wielder…

Sword Of Change: The appearance of this blade is in constant flux. One moment it looks like a flashy blade of a noble, the next like a barbarian’s broadsword, then like a light rapier only to look like a rusty short sword seconds later. It nearly never looks the same twice, the only common characteristic is that all forms of the weapon are swords. The effect it has on those who are hit with it is even more severe. Every wound that is inflicted starts to instantly mutate giving the victims unfortunate, even debilitating new forms.

Rune Weapons: Crafted in ancient times by true masters of the sword mages these weapons were adorned with ancient runes to enhance the combat abilities of the wielder. Every time the sword is used the runes glow and give a part of their unlimited energy to the wielder. (Basically rune weapons give the wielder +1 on their agility, strength, speed and fighting ability.)

Whip Of Pleasure:This long whip twists and bends seemingly from its own power, its lash sounds like thunder. It is made from human skin and as soft as silk, the hilt looks like a male genitalia and feels warm and throbbing in the wielder’s hand. It lashes around the wielder on its own greedy to tear the flash of its victims.

Berserk Weapons: Even when in their scabbard these weapons seem to hum and vibrate eager for blood. When they are drawn they are barely controllable and confer their rage onto the wielder making him a terrifying berserker.

Fang Blade: A Fang Blade’s edges are viciously serrated and jagged and can cut through armor as easily as through skin, flesh and bone. At times a feral growl can be heard from the weapon as it lusts for flesh. Every time it inflicts a wound it bites even deeper into the flesh making the wound even worse and weakening the victim.

Vampiric Blade: Forged by dark warlocks and cooled in the blood of vampires dark enchantments helped this blade to keep some of the dark nobility’s thirst for the essence of life. Whenever the blade draws blood it instantly drinks it and heals the wielder an equal amount. But the dark spells require the wielder to sate the blade every 24 hours or it will take from the wielder’s own life power.

Purulent Mace: This heavy mace constantly oozes pus and slime and even worse, the mace was enchanted to temporarily imprison and torture the souls of those who are slain with it. Every swing is accompanied by requiems. Wounds caused by it will be inevitably infected and heavily laden with disease. After it killed someone it will also howl with the voice of the killed for 24 hours while the soul suffers incredible tortures.

Soul Cleaver: This meat cleaver was forged in the fire of suffering souls. Even on microscopic level the edge of the blade is perfectly smooth and without fail. It will always appear perfectly clean and shiny, will never dull, get blunt or even loose the perfect edge. For all purposes this cleaver is indestructible but the main aspect of this weapon is that it cuts the away the soul as much as it harms the body. Those struck with it are also damaged on the ethereal level and it can be used to attack and damage incorporeal beings.

Collector Of Skulls: This heavy and richly adorned axe is said to have its own maleficent will. Whenever it is swung it automatically aims for the head. There is no other possibility for it. Even a strike for the legs will sweep up and target the victims throat to collect the skull afterwards. As a compensation the axe will always add enough force to the swing to sever the head.

Energy Devourer: This large shield is wrought from an unknown metal and the also unknown creator fashioned a gaping maw on the front. It seems to possess an eternal, insatiable hunger for energy. With this shield the wielder is able to entirely block and absorb elemental, magical and energy attacks if he can bring the shield between himself and said attack.

Rune Shield: There was not much more that the ancient people who created this shield loathed more than magic. All their collective hatred went into the runes that are integrated into the shield’s surface. When the wielder confronts another person with a magic weapon the runes glow and negate that weapon’s magical properties.

Shield Of Vengeance: Righteous hatred runs through this shield channeling it against those who intend to harm its wielder. The shield is not only unbreakable, whenever the wielder blocks an attack with it, the shield sends back a force attack of equal strength.

Armor Of Tortured Souls: This completely black armor is completely sealed. It does not even have eye slits. Still the wearer is able to perceive the world normally. The wearer is invulnerable to normal weapons. As a drawback the armor can never be removed again, the wearer will forever be caught in it… Together with the souls of the previous wearers.

Armor Of Damnation: This heavy armor lets the wearer constantly shift between a nether realm and the plane he currently resides on. This makes him harder to hit as attacks have to be timed perfectly. Unfortunately the longer the wearer dons the armor the more the corruption seeps into his soul. After some time, depending on the wearer’s moral integrity it may be months, years, decades, or even centuries, the wearer is doomed to eternal servitude in the same nether realm the armor stems from.

The Carmine Armor: This red armor comes in all forms of metal from the chain shirt to the full plate armor. On a spoken command the armor begins to irradiate heat which makes it hard to attack the wearer, outright pain- and harmful even if he is attacked with bare hands. Also he is immune to fire attacks and much more resistant to ice attacks at all times.

Enticing Crystal: This crystal is not only artistically engraved with the greatest of skill, it is perfect to begin with. No single flaw can be found on it, not even oxygen bubbles are enclosed in its eternal purple depths. Only the most strong willed beings can resist to keep looking at it once they have thrown a first glance at it.

Crown Of Everlasting Battle: This golden crown features golden figures locked in eternal combat. When the wearer is wounded the figures start to fight each other and the scenery changes while his wounds close. The Crown Of Everlasting Battle basically grants the wearer regeneration.

Miasmic Amulet: This amulet surrounds the wearer with a seething miasma that is harmful to every living being other than himself. Long protrusions of black and purple negative energy stretch out to rip the pure life force from those around him in a radius of roughly one meter slowly killing them in the process.

The Golden Eye:The golden eye is a talisman of immense power. It sees everything coming, never blinks and never tires. As long as it is in his possession the wearer is always warned from every incoming attack making it impossible to blindside, backstab or sneak attack him.

Eye Of The Gods: Although it seems to be nothing more than a simple obsidian stone roughly in the form of an eye this talisman is a true sign of the gods favoring the wearer. As long as it is in his possession bad luck is unlikely to befall him and fortunate incidents will most probably come along his way. (Basically this talisman gives the wearer good luck.)

Collar Of Negation: This bronze collar can never be removed after it has been placed around the future wearer’s neck. It fuses together and forms a single impenetrable band. The symbol that is connected to it serves as a conduct for magical energy that is then lead into the collar where it is harmlessly dispersed. (With this artifact the wearer is immune to ALL magic meaning harm spells and curses AND buffs and heal spells.)

Staff Of Change: This staff is made from two unknown materials, one blue and one red, wreathed around each other that constantly slither around each other. It does not only enhance the wielder’s magical abilities, it also grants him access to Chaos Magic (with the usual price that comes for this kind of magic).

Skull Of the Ancients: No one knows which race this skull once belonged to. It is harder than stone and purely black, features a third eye socket on the forehead in which a large ruby is embedded and its four enlarged canines are seemingly made from gold. The skull constantly whispers dark secrets and if one listens closely he might learn from it. (Once per day the person in possession can speak a spell he does not normally know.)

Staff Of Pestilence: This staff is made from old and rotting wood although it is surprisingly robust. Several corpses of small animals like little birds and mice hang from its sickly branches and it emanates an unpleasant smell of decay. It does not serve well as a weapon but it can lay a terrible curse of disease on the wielder’s enemies if commanded so.

Chains Of Passion: These barbed chains dig deep into the wearer’s flesh where they cause constant painful irritation. In combat with opponents he can release them on mental command and let them attempt to tie them up.

Unholy Calyx: Whatever is filled into this calyx becomes a powerful magical elixir. It is not without risk though. The enormous energies that fill these potions can double a user’s strength for a short time but they will also cause internal bleeding.

Scepter Of Dominance: This richly adorned scepter of gold literally exudes majesty. With it the wielder can use mind control.

Mirror Of Many Eyes: Images of eyes are spread all over the helmet. The weird ability of the helm lets the wearer use these eyes as if they were his own meaning he has 360 degrees in all directions and can never be blindsided by any conventional means.

Allseeing Mirror: This double sided mirror is wrought from pure alchemical silver and has two uses. Ironically it does not work as normal mirror. One side enables the wielder to use clairvoyance on any area he can name. The other enables him to read the minds of others. For this he has to place the mirror between him and them and look into it.

Pendant Of Pain: History had this pendant labeled somewhat incorrectly. In fact it is not even a real pendant since it lacks a chain. Instead it anchors itself in the wearer’s breast with hooks and numbs his nervous system making him insensitive for pain.

@warsman: Another batch as promised:

Etherblade: Every second this slightly and mysteriously translucent blade jumps through hundreds of dimensions. The opponent may as heavily armored as he wants, there is nothing that can hold back the wrath of this blade. (With this blade the wielder can harm people no matter if they wear armor or are invulnerable, the y are always treated as if they were normal human beings wearing normal clothes. Only force fields offer protection from this blade.)

Rapier Of Ecstasy: This slim, elegant weapon is engraved with millions of diminutive red mouths and its edge is made from the teeth of the innocent. With every cut the weapon sets ganglia on fire with perverse joy and lust to add even more distraction to the pain.

Father Of All Blades: Rumor has it that this ancient and plain sword is the first sword ever to be forged. It is not known if that is true since the weapon has developed a rather smooth and calm personality, contrary to the rough viewing for appreciation that other magic weapons display. But it is true that non-magic weapons show respect towards this forefather as they will not block it.

Glaive Of Decay: This rotten and rusty glaive is infected with a highly toxic fungus that instantly creeps into wounds and infects the victim. In a matter of seconds it spreads through his body, killing the weaker ones with a single strike and significantly weakening the stronger ones. (Basically everyone struck with this weapon has his strength, speed, agility and stamina halved till the fungus is removed by magical means.)

Whip Of Submission: This crudely treated strip of leather is lined with barbs on its complete length and saturated with the tears of a hundred female demons. With but the lightest embrace it can bring the mightiest warrior to his knees, turn a hero into a traitor o, a priestess into a courtesan. (To subjugate a person the wielder has to tie up the victim with the whip.)

Malformed Armor: This strangely looking armor starts to fuse with the flesh of the wearer after some time making the grotesque shape of the armor and the body of the wearer an inseparable one. It may not be to the better of the wearer’s appearance but its inborn magical powers it doubles the users natural endurance and supplies him with unlimited stamina.

Force Armor: This finely crafted armor is engraved with protective spells from the helmet to the boots. Once the wearer is struck the spells spring into action to protect him. Besides working as a normal armor of its kind it also supplies the wearer with a protective force field.

Wolverine Helmet: At all times a strong odor of sulfur exudes this piece of armor making it unpleasant to be near the wearer but once he dons the bronze helmet in the form of a wolverine’s head he becomes completely immune to fear and inhaled poisons.

Black Tongue: This black tongue was cut out of a wizard’s skull and now serves as a ward against the arcane forces. Once the wearer is target of a spell he can choose to direct the spell onto the Black Tongue. The spell is completely negated but the tongue crumbles to dust.

Necrotic Casket: This casket is richly adorned with banishing spells against poison and disease laid in silver. Once it is opened it pulls every poison and disease from the person’s body and stores it in itself to release it on a designated target once the command word is spoken.

Hell’s Puppet: To create one of these puppets is terrifyingly easy. Dark spells of damaging have to be bound into it for it to work. After that only a drop of blood is needed to manipulate the person from which the blood stems. Every injury that is done to the puppet is done to the person as well. Up to death. There are two versions of these puppets: One that becomes unusable after the ensorcelled person is dead and another that becomes re-usable 24 hours after the person is dead.

Sorcerer’s Blood: This vial contains actual blood of a sorcerer. Once it comes into contact with another sorcerer this one will be unable to use his dark powers till he has washed it off.

Staff Of Pain: This jagged iron staff hums with evil energy. If pointed towards a person it will unleash unspeakable pain onto that person once the command word is uttered.

Bloodskull Amulet: This amulet is cut from a mysterious red stone and always feels wet to the touch. The crafter shaped it into the form of a small screaming skull about the size of a human fist. When the wearer lays hands on it, it can scream once a day unleashing a stunning sound attack.
