Pierce Family Tree
"Work harder, thinker smarter, live longer." Since the thirteenth century of known civilization the Pierce family motto has echoed throughout the European nations and territories as a constant reminder of their evolving and almost omnipotent nature.
In order to sustain their power, every one hundred years, a Pierce relative is given the Orb of Despair. With this mystical device in hand, the chosen parent must choose which of their children must be sacrificed for the betterment of the Pierce family name. And for centuries the ritual went without a hitch, but when Mathias Pierce, founder of the Humanity Now Institute was given the orb, the manner of which the Pierce family live would be changed forever.
Sacrificial Lamb
For most of the Pierce family the story of Clarice Michelle is known. She was expected to be the virgin sacrifice to the Orb of Power, but the violet eyed child perverted the ritual. It was her unforeseen pregnancy that gave the demon an idea. An idea that involved possessing the teenage misfit rather than devouring her soul. However, where most presume her father willingly sacrificed his only daughter, the truth is far more sinister.
Eden Pierce, twin brother to Clarice and only son to Mathias, was the actual sacrifice. Although more popular, smarter, and strong in character; he was a closeted homosexual, and disgrace to the family name. After overhearing his parent's intention to let him die whilst being the only person aware of Clarice's pregnancy, the young teenager developed a plan that'd ensure his survival. A plan that involved goading his sister into the Humanity Now Institute, claiming to have accidentally told their parents of her unexpected pregnancy, and telling her they'd be in the empty containment room. Unaware and quite frankly unassuming a familiar betrayal, Clarice entered the room, only to be shut in and victimized by the beast within.
Recent Times
As a result of Clarice's survival, Eden blamed the near death experience on his parents. And although his sister believed him, which in turn caused a schism in the Pierce household, distrust within the family remained. By the time the twins turned 18 the family had grown tired of one another. Eden would move to Arizona with a child he conceived nights before the event to convince his father of someone he was not. Meanwhile, Clarice would move to New York's Lower Manhattan area, to live under the roof of Noah Addams's father.
It's been sixteen years since the possession of Clarice Michelle Pierce and ten years since the unexplained deaths of Mathias and Maya Pierce. With that in mind, Eden intended on taking over the Humanity Now Institute, considering his sister's less than classy activities in the media, but their father Mathias still left the company in the hands of his daughter, never convinced of his son's facade. Even if the boy did name his only child, Mathias Pierce Jr.
Unlike the rest of the Pierce family, Mathias Junior has all of his mental faculties in check. A superior athlete at the ripe age of sixteen. A lacrosse, baseball, and track star; Mathias Junior has exceeded at physicality for as long as he's been breathing. Unbeknownst to his father, the boy has been getting high off of mutant growth hormones, as means of getting stronger and smarter.
Not to mention the fact that his tumblr activity has recently shown a vast amount of reblogs pertaining to theories connecting President Pierce's to the Paradise Island genocide and her supposed affiliation with the recent mutant purge. These articles alone have acquired an unhealthy admiration for his aunt and the now deceased Charlemagne LeBeau. The American boy even intends on reenacting the event the moment he's physically capable for combat.
Troy, the son of Clarice Michelle Pierce and Noah Addams is currently living in the Republic of Venezuela, under the watchful eyes of Xenon, the mutant king. He's also the newly chosen vessel of Shinigami, the demon that was originally a burden for the presidential witch. Although unaccustomed to being a mutant, his first activation being the cause of the American Mutant Purge, Troy is beginning to get a hang of balancing his adaptive powers, training with Xenon, and schoolwork. It's been a rough few weeks, but he refuses to give up. He's even unwilling to return to the United States in fear of being abducted by his mother or dragged down by his emotionally imbalanced father.
It's been difficult. Having been a foster child for a majority of his life, Troy isn't at all unaccustomed to stability in his life. Yet, here he is. Alive and well. Troy has been trying his best to earn the respect and tutelage of Xenon, the leader of the mutant people. However, even with the king by his side, the young boy urns for companionship, attempting to make multiple friendships but being consistently let down as a result. He's starting to wonder if anyone knows about the demon beneath his skin.
