ت The Unknown Order ت
History remembers the fall of the legendary Knights Templar, that on Friday the 13th in October of 1307 by order of the financially unstable ruler of France King Philip IV, the once illustrious faith based warriors of the crusades were labeled as heretics, enemies of God, and the almighty Catholic Church, and ultimately sentenced to death. But what history does not remember, or more importantly what it was not permitted to document, was the creation of a surreptitious cabal of assassins hand picked by Pope Clement V from the Templar's hated rivals, the Knights Hospitaller. These assassins would carry out systematic successions of sabotage, espionage, and state sponsored murder. Fraudulently laying the foundation for King Philips betrayal birthing the formation of a league of assassins who would one day become the Order of Sancta Camisa. Elite combat specialist of unorthodox warfare who's stealth based tactics were in stark contrast of honor bound codes of the autocratic Knights and viewed as unsavory though the undeniable success of their cloak and dagger covertness was unparallelled for its time.
After the fall of the fabled Knights the entirety of their accumulated wealth was silently bequeathed to the Order of Sancta Camisa permeating their affluence helping to establish an underground authoritative influence which, much to the dismay of the Catholic church, superseded that of the Templars in many ways. Eventually the Order broke free from the bonds of religion and disappeared. Embarking on a commutation across the known World analytically collecting, cataloging, and compressing various veins of knowledge and skill tailoring them into a dogmatic system of philosophy and peerless combat education. Adopting the ways of the Japanese Shinobi and through the forbidden teachings of the Kuji-kiri perpetuating myth like fables of supernatural like abilities. Though do to the Orders enigmatic secrecy substantiation of how, or if, these special talents exist is all but impossible.
Like most generational inheritance, (and simultaneously unlike any other), the OSC have thrived under the leadership of the Knightfall linage. With theoretical and philosophical evolutions governing the ancient order of assassins through a myriad of historical chapters. As legendary as the Illuminati and as mythical as the New World Order, from the Baron to Julian and on down to Jayden, the Knightfall's unwavering influence over the League has been absolute. Alterations in tradition as well as locations have not only morphed the former religious sect into an open minded international collection of assassins, but severed any and all ties to the catholic teaching of christ. For the League there is only on religion, one god, the religion of the martial arts.
Now a new chapter begins as the resurrected Knightfall, Raysh'Al Shaytan, sets out to birth yet another variation of the once sacred order. The Order of Sancta Camisia has long since perished, scorched and burned to the ground by the very family who originated it. But from the shadows and dark regions of the treacherous Middle East a new dogmatic legion of assassins has been born.
العَرَ الحُرُوف العَرَبِيَ (The League of Assassins)
Sparrow Era (Post-Shadow Campaign).
Whoever survives our passing does so only by our consent.
Ranks.
Assassins.
Those that join the League already trained, strong, and independent. They must obey the League's laws, and pass the League's tests, but once they've done so they are no longer obligated to stay with the League, unlike acolytes. They wear their own armor and often work in small groups or alone. Not all are super-powered, but all in the League that are powered are Assassins.
Acolytes.
Those that join the League for training, found in large groups. They wear identical robes of varying colors, denoting ranks. Each must study for a year until being tested, and if they pass they advance in rank. The ranks are numerous, and few ever ascend to the top, but those that do are unparalleled fighters, as talented as the full-fledged assassins of the League. Eventually, they ascend to Assassin, through enough training.
Freelancers.
Affiliates of the league, often as skilled as Assassins, but they prefer to work on their own, using the League's assistance when needed, and paying annual dues for membership.
Tactics.
The League dispatches Assassins in groups of three to seven. They are trained beforehand to judge their suitability for working in groups, and have synergy between fighting styles or powers. Over time, they often form close bonds, and work in synchrony through years of practice.
Acolytes of the League only work in large groups, and are only dispatched to fight the non-powered, or for noncombat missions. Most of the time they work under full Assassins, and form similar bonds to that of groups of Assassins, though the Assassins are superior in hierarchy and social status to their Acolytes.
The Monastery (Additions).
The League's ancient Monastery has been subsumed by an incredibly powerful metahuman. متاهة (Labyrinth), who has the ability to manipulate a structure she spends enough time 'attuning' to. Her ability has a second function, which grows stringer the larger the location she is attuned to. The already-massive Monastery proved helpful to this, and متاهة can now open 'doors' from the Monastery to any doorway on Earth, and back, but not from one structure to another, without passing through the Monastery. Those unfamiliar with the changed architecture, and intruders in the League's home, cannot find their way around, but those who spend enough time there find that the door they are looking for happens to be around the next corner, despite it being nearly a mile away the last time they looked.
